"Over here, by the medicinal spells. Why? Is something wrong?"

"Come here and take a look at this."

"...Oh my. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. What does it do?"

"If I created this spell correctly, then it should be able to change one's cutie mark!"

"What!?"

"This is incredible!"

"Starswirl, you cannot be serious!?"

"But I am dear Clover! I just need to add some finishing touches to it."

"What do you mean?"

"The spell is sporadic at best. If anypony were to cast it, it would switch cutie marks around, not only that, but it could switch the cutie marks of anypony in, oh I would say, an acre at best."

"An acre!? This is madness!"

"It's not madness! this is revolutionary! Take a look at this one too!"

"..."Time travel?"

"Yes! This spell could essentially take you though time! Both to the future and the past!"

"So what's wrong with it?"

"It only takes you back a couple of seconds. Watch." Starswirl's horn lit up letting out a blinding flash of light.

"So what's wrong with it?"

"It only takes you back a couple of sec- see! Now that it works it just needs to be perfected."

"I shall take your word for it."

"I'll have to make a trip to the Crystal Empire. Their library has the most extensive knowledge of magic in all of Equestria."

"Are you sure it'll work/"
