Star Compass.

A young filly ran down the streets of Ponyville and towards the huge, overgrown, scary forest that everypony knew as the Everfree. The filly was wearing a small black cape which didn't hide her hooves which was a bright yellow, nor did it hide the end of her tail which was a gentle midnight blue.

''Come on, Star. Hurry up before they get you,'' uttered the filly to herself as she moved quickly and away from yelling of ponies who she had just stolen from. As she entered the forest, it was a eerie silence but she was almost raised in the forest so she knew what she was doing.

Taking off her cape as she entered a small cave not very far in but still enough to hide her from sight. Her body was revealed to be that of a unicorn filly with a yellow coat, midnight blue mane and tail with turquoise eyes with a lighter turquoise for the whites. Her horn was soon wrapped in a glow that was a gently blue unlike her eye color.

The blue glow didn't just wrap itself around her horn, but her body as well. There growing out of her back was a pair of yellow wings and the light turquoise which was her whites became slightly darker. She was an alicorn. She didn't like anyone knowing. Looking at the beautiful picture of stars in the shift of blackness. The pale whitish-grey moon hung gently just above some clouds. She had been used to see 'the mare in the moon' in it but now emptiness.

She was awake all night long. Star saw the first shifts of night to day, dawn. The sky was becoming a aurora of pink and yellow with light pink clouds here and there. Standing up, Star's horn glowed making the winds shrink till they were no longer in sight. She picked up a pair of saddle bags that she had put down the night before and ate a small apple for breakfast.

Finishing the apple and putting the saddle bags firmly on her back, she begin walking towards the exit of the forest. Leaving the forest behind, she made a dash towards the school. Star made it just before the first bell. Boom! Boom! It went. She walked inside and took her seat. 16 desks with her set being on row 3, seat 4.

She was the closest to the wall without windows and liked it that way. Everypony slowly entered. Star watched two groups walk in though more then the others. One had two earth ponies. One earth filly was a pink filly with a purple mane that had a streak of white and blue eyes.

Her cutie mark was a diamond tiara. The other was a grey filly with a white and sliver mane and purple eyes. She was wearing glasses. Her cutie mark was a sliver spoon.

The other was of five fillies. Two earth ponies, one unicorn, one pegasus and one alicorn. One of the earth had a bright yellow coat, red mane and orange eyes. Her flank had a picture of a green apple with a paint brush that had green paint on. The other earth had a white coat, red curly mane and glasses over her pink eyes. Her flank was adorn with a pair of candy canes that was white and pink.

The unicorn was a white filly with a curly pink and purple mane and green eyes. Her cutie mark was a heart with a bell inside and music notes around it. The pegasus was a orange tomboy with messy purple hair and purple eyes. Her cutie mark was a wheel on fire with wings attached to it.

The alicorn was different all together. She was black, pure black. She had turquoise eyes with dagger pupils and light turquoise whites. Her mane was held back by the teal headband which had darker greens towards the edge. The mane, itself was a royal purple.

She was wearing a violet vest which had some black here and there to blend with her coat. Her cutie mark which was partly hidden by the vest, which formerly was used to hid her wings but now her wings were neatly folded over the vest thanks to a hole cut into it. The cutie mark was a blue shield with a lighter blue crescent moon.

Everyone took their seats as a mulberry earth pony mare walked in smiling.

''Morning, class,'' She said.

''Morning, Mrs Cheerilee'' chanted the class, some honestly, others to please Cheerilee.

''Okay, we have a new student joining us, though I say that she's already picked a seat,'' said Cheerilee as she glanced to the filly behind the alicorn. ''Introduce yourself, Star,''

Star nodded, standing up but not smiling but not frowning just a neutral expression.

''My name is Star Compass. NEVER call me Star, got that?'' She said adding force on the word 'never'. Cheerilee gulped as Nyx, who was sat in front of the filly to cower at the tone.

''Um okay, Miss Compass,''

''Now, lets see who's here,'' said Cheerilee as she picked up the sheet of names.

''Okay, Applebloom?''

''Ah'm here!'' Cheerilee ticked off the name and moved to the next.

''Diamond Tiara?''

''Here,'' said Diamond, moving her mane with her hoof.

''Dinky Doo?''

''I'm here, Mrs Cheerilee!'' said a periwinkle unicorn filly just running through the door, ''Sorry, mommy had forget to set her alarm,''

''It's okay,'' said Cheerilee but putting Dinky was late then moved on, ''Pipsqueak?''

''Here,''

After a few names, the list moved to Nyx.

''Nyx?''

''Um....Here...''

''Compass?''

''Here,'' said Star in a non-emotional voice as if she had no sign of life in her.

On the playground, later on. Nyx ran up to the small yellow unicorn and said.

''Um, Miss Compass. Wanna play with me?''

''Not really,'' said Star, turning around to look at the Nightmare Moon reincarnation. She thought in her head.''She looks a lot like mom...Maybe she's mom's reincarnation making me and her related?!''

''Nyx! Star!'' yelled a voice, it was Applebloom.

''Hi, Applebloom,''

''Star is lucky that yer tryin' to be her friend, ah mean yer friendly despite bein' shy,'' said the farm filly.

''Don't!'' interrupted Star, causing Nyx to look a bit shocked. ''Don't call me Star or without a honorific,''

''Oh, why don't ya like it?'' said Applebloom, kindly.

''Don't questi..'' Star was soon interrupted by Nyx who blurted out while faintly blushing in embarrassment.

''Miss Star!''

''Huh?'' uttered both Applebloom and Star.

''Um how about 'Miss Star'?''

''Do as you wish,'' said Star and with that, she walked off.
