Twilight was coming down the stairs of her library she lived in. Chrysalis, who had been living in the library as well as her fluffy friend Fluffle Puff, was in the kitchen making some breakfast for the three ponies in the house. Twilight yawned as she descended down the staircase. It was a long night of having to deal with Fluffle Puff who would run around the room in circles.
"Ugh, sometimes Fluffle Puff can be a hoof full, how come she doesn't annoy you?" Twilight asked with a groan to Chrysalis, who seemed busy making tea. She looked up to find Twilight having her eyes twitch, and her hair was sticking up. Chrysalis wasn't amused, whenever Fluffle Puff sleeps with Twilight, it seems that Twilight doesn't get any sleep at all.
Chrysalis chuckled, she knew that Fluffle Puff can be trouble, but since Chrysalis can actually communicate with Fluffle Puff, it's easy to calm her down, since the fluffy pink earth pony is filled with lots of energy.
"By the way, have you seen her lately? She wasn't next to my bed this morning when I woke up." Said Twilight, Fluffle Puff had vanished when Twilight had woke up, and to Twilight that was strange.
Chrysalis had put down her cup of tea she was holding with her magic, something that would have to wait to enjoy. She walked towards the clock in the room, then said. "I think she's outside, ether that or she went to her toy chest. I mean she loves her toys, especially the doll I gave her for her birthday a week ago." Twilight started to smile, if there was one thing Fluffle Puff loved a lot than anything, was of course the doll.
"Thanks Chrysalis. You wanna come with me to look outside?" Twilight asked, but Chrysalis refused, she said she was going upstairs to handle a issue that she meant to take care of yesterday but didn't. Twilight only shrugged, sometimes Chrysalis would make a excuse to go upstairs to take a nap or something.
But before Twilight was about to leave, Chrysalis said her name. "Twilight, aren't you gonna brush your hair?" Twilight then looked at herself in a nearby mirror, her hair was still messy. "Oops, thanks for reminding me."
After brushing her hair out, Twilight left the library in search for Fluffle Puff. Everypony in town was running about and roaming the streets. Because there was nopony like Fluffle Puff with extremely fluffy pink fur, Twilight thought it would be easy to spot out the mare of pink.
As Twilight passed Sugar Cube Corner, the Cutie Mark Crusaders were exiting through the front door, their mouths covered with frosting and sprinkles. It looked like the fillies had eaten cupcakes or something, one of Pinkie Pie's master dish. Twilight thought in her mind that it didn't seem like a bad idea to just ask one question, which was in fact if they had seen a pony with fur like at least three, five Opals.
"Hey girls. How's it going with you three?" Twilight asked in a friendly tone. The three crusaders looking for their cutie marks turned to the purple unicorn mare, they had frosting dripping from their chins. "Oh, hey Twilight!" Scootaloo said. She smiled showing her teeth, which was covered with sprinkles.
"One filly will be having tooth aches for a while" Thought Twilight. But she continued smiling and asked her question. "Hey, have you seen Fluffle Puff? I hadn't seen her all day!"
The crusaders didn't answer right away, but then Applebloom replied. "No, we never saw her at all. Not since two days ago." Twilight frowned, if the crusaders hadn't seen her since two days.......wait, didn't Twilight see them talking to Fluffle Puff yesterday evening? But that didn't matter, she needed to find Fluffle Puff.
When she entered Sugar Cube Corner, she saw ponies in a long line to the counter where the cakes were selling batches of muffins. But no Fluffle Puff, Twilight frowned, if she couldn't find Fluffle Puff, who knows what could be happening to her.
Twilight searched the entire town for Fluffle Puff, but no luck. She sighed, and started to trot back to the library.
"Chrysalis. I...." Twilight had entered her library and was about to tell the bad news to Chrysalis, but she wasn't in the downstairs part of the library. "Odd." Twilight thought.
Suddenly she heard the sound of a loud crash from the room where Fluffle Puff's toy chest was. Alarmed, Twilight quickly made her way through the kitchen. When Twilight arrived, she saw Chrysalis standing in the door way, looking like she was about to fall on the floor.
"Chrysalis, what's the matter?" Asked Twilight, but after asking her question, a pillow hit Twilight in her face. Twilight looked to where the pillow came from, it was Fluffle Puff, frantically searching the room for something.
Fluffle Puff was throwing things all over the room, tearing the room apart looking for an object that seemed so dear to her. Twilight looked at Chrysalis again, did she know what was the pink fluffy pony looking for? But more importantly, how long was Fluffle Puff searching?
"Uh, Chrysalis, how long has Fluffle Puff been searching for something? And what's missing?" Chrysalis turned towards Twilight, her face turning into a unique color, was Chrysalis going to become sick of watching the pink pony search the room. "Twilight it appears that Fluffle can't find her doll, you know the one I gave to Fluffle for her birthday." Twilight remembered the doll, it looked like Chrysalis, the button eyes made the doll look like on of Twilight's childhood dolls, and the sewing was hard in Twilight's opinion, but it still made Fluffle Puff the happiest pony in the world, but when she dropped it on the floor when running around with it, she picked it up and tears formed in her eyes.
"And Fluffle Puff here has been searching for hours.....uh, Twilight? Twilight....." Twilight was still staring into space, thinking about the doll, how much Fluffle cared about it, and how much she wanted it safe like if it was alive and was in the form of a small Chrysalis filly. "TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysalis yelled at the top of her lungs, Twilight immediately snapped back into reality. Chrysalis sharply looked at the purple mare, making Twilight blush. "He he, sorry for not paying attention. Anyways, let's help Fluffle Puff find her doll." Twilight and Chrysalis was about to start searching under a couch in the room when Fluffle Puff ran to them, tears were dripping down her cheeks.
"Phhhhhptttt! Phhhhhhpttttt!" Fluffle Puff said, pointing towards a window. Twilight and Chrysalis looked to find the window, broken. Twilight and Chrysalis gasped and shocked looks covered their faces, somepony must've broken in and had stolen Fluffle Puff's doll!
"There's no other way how Fluffle's doll went missing, nothing else was stolen, because the library looked so normal when we woke up and that.....well." Twilight and Chrysalis exchanged looks, and then looked at a now crying Fluffle Puff. "Don't Cry Fluffle, we'll find your doll, hey, we can play detective, does that sound like fun?" Twilight said to Fluffle Puff while she and Chrysalis put on some old style detective hats. "Don't worry Fluffle, we'll find out who stole your doll!" But as Twilight finished, both Twilight and Chrysalis in their old style detective hats looked at Fluffle Puff, who still had tears shedding from her eyes, but she was wiping them away and was trying to smile. But Twilight and Chrysalis looked at her in confusion, because Fluffle Puff not only had an old style detective hat on, but also was wearing an eyeglass.
"Where do you think she got the eye glass?" Asked Chrysalis to Twilight, who was staring at Fluffle Puff like if she was a statue or something. "I have no idea where she got the hat ether, did we give her one?" Twilight replied, Chrysalis was staring at Twilight like if she was ancient history. But soon replied. "I don't remember ether of us giving her one. But still, it looks like the actual thing, right?" Twilight had to admit that the costume was something even Rarity might like. But Twilight hoped Rarity didn't want an improvement in a detective outfit. Twilight had to swallow a lump in her throat remembering the last time Rarity wanted one of Twilight's costumes improved, Twilight had to suffer under too tight clothing, which hurt her pretty badly that she needed to see nurse Redheart.
"TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysalis yelled again at the top of her lungs. Twilight flinched, Fluffle Puff was at the doorway ready to investigate, Chrysalis had to yell at Twilight to get her to realize that the longer it took to stand around staring into space thinking about useless things, the more possibilities that the thief, or thieves might be long gone. So Twilight ran towards the door, almost crashing into Fluffle Puff, who was blankly staring at a portrait of Twilight's parents.
Twilight, Chrysalis, and Fluffle Puff walk out the door of the library, the investigation just beginning, and a new adventure underway.
