The Boring Days of Little Wood
I awoke, staring at the blank white ceiling. I turned my head to see a window, beyond it displaying a beautiful pristine day and vibrant green trees. I wanted to get up, but I just couldn't. I loved nature, but sometimes I wish I could snuggle under the blankets and stay there, getting warm and having a lucid dream.
I began to get up, but to my avail the alarm clock went off. I thought I turned it off earlier; I usually hit it while I'm asleep and stay there for a bit longer. But alas, I got up early. Too bad. Gotta stick to routine, or else I'll unleash the grumpiness of a tired me. So I fell back into bed, dreaming of chocolate and reading a book under the shade of a tree.
I finally decided to get up and to trot through my house. I was happy and feeling quite productive, but while my mind was saying 'Do a review! Get it out of the way!' I knew my heart was saying stay on the couch or go outside and read. It seemed like a nice idea. So I chose A Day to Waste, my favorite book. I knew I would be bugged, but I didn't care.
As I galloped outside in the hot fresh air, I turned to the tree. I seeked shelter from the heat and retreated under the cool shade. It felt nice to relax.
I turned to the bookmarked page and caught something in my magic. It almost hit my ear, and I turned my head to see I was staring at a hoofball. I pushed the ball away with my magic to see three colts smiling and giggling. I just smirked and decided to go over there to see why I was almost hit in the head with the toy.
I looked at them and gave them a sweet smile. I soon identified them as Lucky Heart's kids. They weren't lucky, but they did know how to get into trouble.
"So, boys. Mind telling why this hoofball was spiraling towards me?" I asked, waiting for a reply. I saw Bolt Cycle, the yellow pegasus, come towards from the back to the front.
"Umm, Hickory Smoke threw it and...." Bolt just trailed off, with looking at his hooves, fidgeting with them.
"And he threw it too hard for either of you to catch?" I finished off for them. They looked at me with big eyes and mouths agape.
"How'd you know, Miss?" one mumbled, barely enough for anypony to hear.
"Well, living here for a year brings quite the experience with you boys! Now run along." I was almost finished, until they sped off.
"And don't forget to be careful with where you throw it!" I shouted.
"We won't! See ya!" Spell Fire yelled back, smiling. I just smirked at how reckless some ponies could be.
I looked around after finishing the book and estimated that it was about lunchtime, seeing the blazing sun right in the middle of the sky. I then heard a loud grumble coming from my stomach. I was wondering why I was feeling nauseous, but then again, I forgot to eat some breakfast. I shrugged it off and galloped into the town's market.
Once arriving there, I noticed that almost all of the ponies were moving towards one stall. I flew up a bit and looked. It wasn't tomato's or vegetables, but a tonic. And it was being sold by the Flim-Flam Brothers.
I didn't like those clowns, but it seemed like they were getting lots of attention. And it wasn't bad! But I personally don't like those stallions for trying to put the Apple family out of business. I heard they came back with promises that you'd be cured of anything, from bruises to a broken body. And it was true from what I’d seen and was told.
But I went back to my day, going towards the fruit stand. I was going to pick up some apples and an orange to make fresh squeezed orange juice. That's a nice small lunch. Enough for me, at least.
I grabbed an orange and levitated some bits to Orange Flower. She smiled and gave her thanks. I rushed over to Applejack's stand, where she was having a conversation with Pinkie Pie, the party mare of the town. As I flew over to them, Pinkie left in a pink blur.
I stopped flying, and started to trot over. I grabbed two apples and waited for a response. She usually changed the prices, and that was fine. I grabbed some bits with my magic, getting ready as she was about to tell me the price.
"That'll be four bits!" Applejack confirmed. I had five ready, but I decided to tip her. She nodded and I flew back home, wondering about that tonic. But I hit a tree wondering about it.
I woke up with a splitting headache, further evidence I needed a nice day tomorrow to study flying. I jumped up, trotting only to trip over a hula-hoop. I hate Mondays. I looked at the sky, then at the town hall clock they installed. I didn't like it, and it was a nuisance. I bet my conscience that it'd be taken down by Tuesday or Wednesday.
I then stood up again with a smirk upon my face and flew back, in focus of my surroundings this time. I finally reached my destination and unlocked the door with a key. I entered my house and put my lunch on the table. I was too tired for making my lunch then, so I decided to plop down on my couch and take a look at my laptop. I looked at Writerbook to see if I had any messages or anything. It was like a place for ponies to use as a social media, except for writers and you get to read and write.
As I did so I remembered I needed a review by the end of tonight. I started one, but didn't get far. Only 'Hello Ponies!' I needed a story I liked and fast. I looked through my favorites and couldn't find one soon enough. I looked and got bored and sidetracked. I wanted to read something, but I determined to go play a game and finally make some lunch.
The clock read 9:26. I went back to Derp til Dawn, but I took another look at the time. Again, I hate Mondays. Time slips by the fastest on Mondays.
I started over again with a story I had read and really liked. Once finished, I put it up for ponies to see. I leaned back on my couch, sighing with relief. I turned to the television and watched a bit of the news. I was munching on a cracker and had a glass of milk. They had a few stories and a few problems that I think I could help with.
I looked toward my bedroom. It was a few hoofsteps away and I might be able to avoid the guest bedroom, too. The guest bedroom that creeps me out at night with it being so.. menacing! It feels like you're in there with two ponies watching you and one is going to stab you in the back with a glass shard or something.
I turned off the T.V. and started to inch towards the light switch. The hallway was in front of me. I put my hoof on the light switch. "You can do this Little Wood, you can do this!” I thought to myself. I pushed my hoof down, putting the house in darkness.
I immediately started flying, getting a glimpse of the room next to mine. I saw two red glowing eyes, staring into my soul. My pupils became pinpricks seeing that and clashed with my bed covers and blankets. I became comfy and fell straight to sleep, dreaming of some story ideas in my mind. It was going to be a funny dream.
