Of Biceps and Butterflies was pretty much inspired by the episode "Rainbow Falls" and the interaction between Bulk Biceps and Fluttershy. It started off as a " What do you think Rarity and Twilight Are talking about when Bulk is Flexing to Fluttershy and evolved into a cutesy romance about two ponies who have their own insecurities, learning to overcome them with the help(?) of their close friends.

So sit back and enjoy this feel good romance.

It was midday at Rainbow Falls, Twilight Sparkle and Rarity were happily chatting in the pagoda with a glass of hay juice and also prunes. Rarity lifted her hoof to keep the sun out of her eyes, despite wearing a chapeau that clearly blinded half of the relay team with the intensity of 500 sequins. Suddenly, a large monstrous bulk of a pony appeared out of nowhere and began flexing his biceps in front of their good friend Fluttershy. Rarity and Twilight both shot each other a glance of mischievious intent, and began prattling away. Despite being a Princess, Twilight still felt the need to play matchmaker for all of Ponyville, and well Rarity, its just the feminine nature to talk about such...things.
"That Big Hulking fellow... he seems to be quite genuine in his innocence, albeit his rather tremendous stature." Rarity cooed as she took a sip from her beverage.

"I have an idea," Twilight began as she spun the rim of her glass with her hoof staring at Fluttershy's enjoyment of the gun show. "Fluttershy seems to be into large muscley men," she drew her tongue back, trying to hide her gleeful intent at the words she would speak. "and when is the last time you saw her with any colt?"

"Well, there was that one time at the ponyville hoedown..." Rarity began reminiscing fondly before Twilight quickly interjected.
"That was Angel, Rarity. Angel dressed in a little tiny pony costume." Twilight flatly delivered.
"Oh...right. I thought it looked familiar." she embaressingly stuttered as she nudged a tiny pony costume further into her saddlebags.
Twilight rolled her eyes and began fluttering her eyes. "Anyway, like you said, he seems genuinely innocent, kind, and has a big..." she paused for a second, trying to think carefully at her choice of words. "...Heart, underneath all that big muscle of his> She pushed her glass aside and slunk her head down as her voice drew to a whisper. "Why not set Fluttershy up with a date?

Rarity gave a gasp as the table shook a little bite. "Why Twilight! Why of all the things I have heard from you, this is by far the most JUICEIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SAID!" Rarity turned and began staring at Bulk Biceps, taking in his sight. "I mean just LOOK at him, those biceps, those triceps, those pectorals..." her eyes lead downward, "AND THAT GLUTUES!!!"

Twilight grabbed Rarity's mane, trying to redirect her friend back to earth. "Uhh... Rarity, we are trying to set Bulk up with Fluttershy remember?"

Rarity would not have any of the sort as she began drooling in a lavish daydream. "Oooohhh to be locked in that ever quivering mound of manly chest.... ohhhaaahhooooooh!"

Twilight rolled her eyes as she exhailed a giant sigh. If you got to do something, you got to do it yourself. Twilight walked up to Bulk Biceps, and flips her mane with her hoof. Got to be professional, upstanding, and certainly not in any way, scheming. She took a deep breath and began.
"Ahem, good day to you good sir, my name is Twi---"
Suddenly her introduction was quickly met with an exciteable screaming that seemed to pound into her eardrums.
"YOUR NAME IS TWILIGHT SPARKLE, I AM BULK BICEPS ITS REALLY NICE TO MEET YOU!"
Twilight shook her head and laughed nervousally at the display. This might be...a little bit more complicated then what she originally thought.
"Ah.....huh. Well, yes, I was just poking around and I wanted to know if you are available sometime this weekend." She trotted a little, wooing her way into the situation.

Bulk Biceps thought for a moment as his pectoral muscles twitched slightly.
"I'M SORRY I CANT DO THAT BECAUSE I HAVE TO CARRY A BIG ROCK AND THEN PUT DOWN THAT BIG ROCK AND THEN PICK IT UP AGAIN!" he exclaimed mightly.

Twilight, refusing to let this pre scheduling destroy her matchmaking intentions from stopping her, as her voice turned into a luring inquistive tone.
"Ohh... really? And are you doing this all by yourself?" She quipped feeling the pins of excitement in her hooves.
"OF COURSE, ITS HOW I STAY BIG AND STRONG AND PRETTY." He boldly proclaimed, as several birds flew past him and then suddenly fell dead.

Twilight, with a bit of flabbergast on her face continued on.
"Well... you certainly are... big."
She hopped around gleefully, trying her best not to blow the situation.
"Soooooo..... I heard that Fluttershy also likes picking up big rocks and putting them down as well."
Bulk stopped for a second and gasped in excitement.
"REALLY? THAT'S WHAT I LIKE TO DO AS WELL!"
Bulk and Twilight both look at Fluttershy who was struggling to pick up a stick that has two marshmellows on it.
Twilight quickly rebounds from the display as she quickly puts her hoof around Bulk Biceps, and walks him away.
"Aheheheheh... don't let her effort disguise her strength," Twilight swings with her hoof in a mighty swing, "I've seen her break trough mountians before!"

"WOW, THAT IS SO STRONG, MAYBE SHE CAN TEACH ME SOMETIME!" Bulk said excitedly, prancing on his hooves.

Yes! Hook, line and sinker! Twilight curled her tongue in anticipation.
"Why don't you ask her if she wants to join you this weekend?" She shook internally at the giddyness of her mischief.

Bulk rubbed his incredibly square chin. "THAT SOUNDS NICE, I WILL CONSIDER THE OFFER SERIOUSLY."
Twilight cheered internally at the success of rolling in Bulk Biceps for Fluttershy.
"Very well, you should go to tak to her, and see if she is available there."
She began to walk back to the canopy tent as she began chuckling to herself.
"All according to plan..."

Bulk watched as Twilight sashayed her way back to the canopy tent.
"WOW, I THINK THAT PURPLE ONE LIKES ME."

Bulk Biceps walked over to Fluttershy, who was half into the ground trying to lift the stick with two marshmellows on it, face contorted in pain and confidence. The shadow of Bulk over her sent a smile that grew ear to ear.
"Oh hi Bulk! Can you lend me a hoof here?" She fluttered her eyelashes happily.
"OF COURSE I CAN, I CAN HELP YOU WITH WHATEVER YOU LIKE."he replied as he picked up the stick and lifted it above his head, accidentally flinging Fluttershy along with it. Fluttershy hung upside down right in front of Bulk's face.
"HOLY COW, THE WORLD IS UPSIDE DOWN, SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THE GRAVITY!"
Bulk dropped the stick and Fluttershy as he curled his face into his hooves in fear. Fluttershy giggles and gave him her hoof.
" Don't be silly Bulk, everything is okay."
Bulk took her hoof and noticed a beam of sunlight coming behind Fluttershy as butterflies and other pretty allegories flew past her as the rainbow falls glisten her face. It was the face of beauty, he felt his heart beat out of control, could this be love?
Bulk thought to himself internally "Oh wow, I've never seen a pony this pretty before, well, yeah, I have. But thats my mom, and I'm not supposed to have those feelings about my mom. This girl though... wow... I really should say something to her."

" What's wrong Bulk? Cat got your tongue?" Fluttershy giggled as she lifted hoof to her face.
"NIPPLE SALADS!"
Fluttershy giggled some more as Bulk panicked slighty darting his eyes back and forth.

"I MEAN, BIRD PASTRIES, UHHH... SPAGHETTI FURNACE!"

Fluttershy continues giggling, and walked away to Twilight and Rarity.
" Oh Bulk, you are such a silly pony."
Bulk clopped his front hooves together as he blushed with embaressment
" NAILED IT! "

Fluttershy walked over to Twilight and Rarity, Rarity still day dreaming about being covered in sweaty musclular manliness, Twilight continually shaking her head in disapproval.

"Hey girls!" Fluttershy exclaimed.
"Hi Fluttershy!" Twilight happily chimed.
" Ahhohhhahaaaaa bouncing rythmics of peculiar pectorals ahahahaooooooooh!"
Fluttershy and Twilight both looked at each other and Twilight rolls her eyes.
"So umm... Twilight, I was wondering, do you know if Bulk has any interests? Like maybe helping out little bunnies, or maybe sitting in an open field and watching the butterflies fly by, or maybe..."
" BIG BODACIOUS BULK BICEPS BOOTY BOUNCING!!!" Rarity blurted out.
" Oh.... I see... I thought maybe... well, if he maybe he'd have some free time this weekend if maybe we could..."
" OF COURSE! He totally loves all those things, especially the thing with the place and the stuff!" Twilight interjected.
"You mean the butterflies flying by?"
"YES! Exactly! Why don't you go over there and ask him, I think he really likes you!"
" Me? Well, I really hope so, It just doesn't seem I'm the kind of girl for him, with his predisposition on personal appearance and so. I'm just not that pretty like you or Rarity..."

Rarity continued to drool as her hair gets ruffled.

"Don't be silly Fluttershy, I think Bulk despite all his appearance, and underneath all that thick muscle of his, has a very big heart, and a very big place in it for you to fill. Now go on, ask him!"

"Thanks you two, I will"

Fluttershy squeed and walked back over to Bulk. Rarity fell off the table and Twilight sighed dragging her to dunk Rarity's head in some cold water.

Fluttershy thought to herself, "I really hope I can do this, I mean, he seems nice and all, but hopefully I can get over this personal anxiety thing so I can ask him. Oh, what if he says no? Oh what would I do? I'd have to go back and be alone forever! I can't be a crazy animal pony for the rest of my life! I just cant!"

Fluttershy unawareingly bumped face first into Bulks massive chest. Bulk freaked out and began panicking
"AHH A SPIDER! GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFF ME!"

Bulk began bucking and jumping like a rodeo bull as the other ponies at the competition began noticing and giggling at the sight of the overly masculine hulk freaking out over the smallest of things. Applejack noticed the bucking bronco has her inner cowboy instincts kick in as she ran at full speed towards Bulk. With a mighty leap to the air she lands squarely on his back and kicks his side.

"YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAW UP AND AT IM YA BIG VARMINT!"

"EEEEEEEK! A VARMINT WHERE?"

Bulk intensified his bucking and broncoing as more and more ponies gather round to laugh at the sight. Fluttershy easily in what can be called a sort of heavenish hell began whimpering into Bulks chest.

" Please stop...."

Bulk looked down between his pectorals and noticed Fluttershy. He came to a comical mid air stop and gently fell back to the ground. Applejack jumped off and gave him a smack on the flank.

"YEEHAW! That was some real good bucking there pardner! Y'all should head on down to Sweet Apple Acres for some more practice if ya know what I mean."

She gaves him a wink and walked off. Everyone in the crowd does an audience oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh as Bulk clopped his two hooves together, blushing with embaressment again.

Fluttershy pulled her face from Bulks chest and looked up to him with googly eyes, still dizzy from the relucant rodeo ride she had participated in.

"So umm.... Bulk I was wondering...."

"YES FLUTTERSHY I ALSO WONDER TOO, LIKE HOW BUMBLEBEES CAN FLY WHEN THEIR BODY WEIGHT IS DISPROPORTIONATE TO THE SPAN OF THEIR WING LENGTH, OR HOW THE MORNING DEW GLISTENS WITH EACH AND EVERY SUNRISE OR WHEN..."

Fluttershy put her hoof on his lips. Bulk blushed again.

"Bulk, I was wondering if it wasn't too much trouble if maybe me and you could may-"

Bulk began smiling and flapping his tiny colt wings in excitement.

"Maybe we can...."

Fluttershy noticed the entire crowd of ponies around her all giggling and laughing at Bulk. Her knees began to jiggle as her stomach turned into lead. Her eyes shrunk in anxiety as sweat began torrenting off her forehead.

" I..I.....wondering...maybe...."

"WHAT'S WRONG FLUTTERSHY? MAYBE WE SHOULD GO SOMEWHERE MORE PRIVATE WITH LESS PONIES AROUND?"

Fluttershy had a fake smile as her eyes darted back and forth as she whispered through her teeth.

"Y-y-yes..."

Bulk then picked up Fluttershy and then they flew off to the top of Rainbow Falls for a little bit of privacy. As Fluttershy looked down at the crowd of ponies. which became smaller and smaller as did the weight in her stomach. She nustled her head into Bulks chest again.

"ARE YOU AFRAID FLUTTERSHY? I CAN FLY SLOWER IF YOU WOULD LIKE!"

"No its okay Bulk. I just wanted to say I really like you."

" I REALLY LIKE YOU TOO, MORE THAN I LIKE PICKING THINGS UP AND PUTTING THEM BACK DOWN."

Fluttershy giggled as they arrived at the crest of the rainbow waterfall.

"SO YOU WANTED TO ASK ME SOMETHING?"

" Yes, Bulk Id like to know if you would like to join me this weekend for some butterfly watching"

" YES, I WOULD LIKE THAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN ME IN PICKING UP A LARGE ROCK AND THEN PUTTING IT DOWN?"

" Yes,I would like that very much."

Fluttershy nudged closer to Bulk and they looked over the horizon to a new romance.

Epilogue

Bulk and Fluttershy had alot of rough cuddling and snuggling time, Fluttershy could barely walk on Mondays and Bulk was much more energetic than usual.Rarity was still into baraki,Applejack found a new bucking rodeo partner, who was actually half man half bull, she is currently at odds with Lyra at the moment because of it. Twilight Sparkle continued being a Princess and secret matchmaker to all of Ponyville. Rainbow Dash had nothing to do with the story, however she was doing her own thing in the episode so whatever.

And what of Pinkie Pie you ask? Well, someone had to write down and tell you this nice little story didn't they? A happy ending for all! You stay random /mlp!
