AppleDash: When I See Her Face...
A cyan Pegasus flew lazily through a clear blue sky. She was not, however, thinking about the Wonderbolts or a new flying competition. She was thinking about a certain orange pony. Rainbow Dash was thinking about Applejack. The cyan Pegasus just... got a certain special feeling whenever she was around AJ. Rainbow stared dreamily into the cloudless sky, thinking of the date they had scheduled for tonight. Dash just couldn't take her mind off her. But... a DATE! Dash was nervous as well as exited. She had an odd feeling. A date... means a dress! But dressed are so girly. I... have to go to Rarity's!
Dash flew quickly to the Carousel Boutique.
" Hello dahling, I heard about your date with Applejack, and I just can't wait to design your ensemble for tonight!" Rarity said, not the least bit jealous. She had a date with Red Sun, a unicorn of high society who invited her to his ball in Canterlot.
"Uh... Yeah! Just don't make it too girly." Dash said, more shyly than usual.
In just a few hours, Dash was pleased to wear the dress Rarity had designed for her. It was a dark blue dress with a lightning bolt at the front, like a necklace. The bottom, like her gala dress, had a cloud ruff lining the edges. In her hair was a barrette of her cutie mark.
"Thanks, Rarity!" Dash called back as she trotted out.

Applejack trotted nervously across the fields of Sweet Apple Acres. She desperately needed an outfit for her date with... Ahhhhhh...
Applejack sighed dreamily. Rainbow Dash was so "awesome" if you will.
"Ahv'e got to find ah drais for mah' date with Rainbow Dash." Applejack said out loud to herself.
Just minutes later, she was at the Carousel Boutique with an , AJ admitted, beautiful dress on her. The dress was green, with a tulle capelet that lay gently on her, making the section of her dress that it covered a greenish red color. She was also wearing a necklace with an apple shaped jewel on it. Her hair was braided, but still wore her grandpappy's hair ties that she always wore, and her hat had a jeweled version of her cutie mark on it.
Both ponies trotted to a small, albeit fancy, restaurant close to the edge of town, thinking about each other the whole way.
" Uh... Hey, Rainbow." Applejack said shyly, blushing a bit. Rainbow looked so... beautiful.
"Yeah, hey, AJ!" Dashie said, marveling at how elegant the usually rough farm pony looked in the pretty green dress she was wearing.
"Waill, should we go in?" Applejack suggested, putting her hoof delicately in Rainbow's, a little embarrassed at how proper she was being. But she could tell, as they walked into the restaurant, that Dash didn't care. She was with Applejack, and that was all that mattered.
"Ah... Ah, Dashie, Ah... Ah kind of feel... special, whenever ah'm around ya." Applejack confided in Rainbow. She felt her hooves getting sweaty. She was nervous that Dash wouldn't feel the same. No. She did. Didn't she?
"I know how you feel. I feel the same way about you, AJ." Dash said. She was relived to know that both of them were feeling the same about each other. Both of the mares blushed as their hooves touched. They both kept their hooves connected as they stared into each other's eyes.
"Excuse me, misses, your order please?" The waited said as he trotted up to them.
Both mares ordered, pausing and stealing glances at each other throughout.
After they ordered, they started to talk about ... stuff. As they talked, they felt more comfortable and talked about things they liked, Wonderbolts and apple-bucking alike.
"Your order!" the waiter said as he set their dishes down in front of them. As the two ate, still talking, Dash noticed a malt with 2 straws in it.
"Did you order that?" Dash asked AJ.
"Yup! Ah thought we could ... Uh ... shair eet." Applejack said, smiling at Dash.
"Nice!" Dash said as Applejack placed the malt in the middle of them, with one straw on each side so that the mares could share it.
Both mares stared dreamily into each other's eyes as they sipped the malt slowly. Their cheeks turned red, but not from embarrassment. Dash suddenly blurted out,
"Applejack, you look beautiful!"
" Wha, thank ya Rainbow Dash.
That is swait!" Applejack replied.
Dash blushed at AJ, squinching up her shoulders. Then, AJ did something Dash never would have guessed she would do. She leaned in and ... she KISSED Rainbow!
Whoa ... Dash thought. I ... like this! She closed her eyes as her lips rubbed up against Applejack's. They un-kissed (if that's a word) and trotted out.
They trotted to Applejack's small summer cabin and knew nopony was there, so they trotted in.
"Dash... do ya aiver feel waird about lahkin' me?" AJ said.
"Why would I?" Dash said nonchalantly.
"Never mahnd." Applejack said.
They sat down at the table and stared at each other. Dash reached out and wrapped her hooves around AJ and she also did the same.
Applejack felt more attracted to Rainbow than ever before. She felt so normal and comfortable just being the wait she was now.
Dash was so ... so ... happy just being with Applejack. She climbed onto the table and kissed Applejack as AJ's eyes widened and then she smiled and kissed her right back.
The next day, the new couple trotted out of the cabin.Both were a little frazzled from the last night's
events. Their dresses were wrinkled, so they decided to take them off to iron them later.
"Ah cain't believe hah close we got laist naht." Applejack said to Dash as they trotted down the streets of Ponyville together.
"I know, AJ, but it felt so natural. I think you understand me better than anypony else. You can be awesomely competitive and sensitive at the same time." Dash responded.
The two mares stared at each other, when a voice called,
"Look out everypony! Here I come!"
It was Rainbow's adopted sister, Scootaloo, on her scooter, pulling Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle behind her in a wagon. The CMC blew through, Applejack's hat flying onto Dash's head. Applejack looked at Dash and a playful smirk spread across her face.
"Dash, what r' ya doin' with mah hat on yer' head?" Applejack smiled playfully as she launched herself at Dash, trying to get her hat back.
"Betcha can't get it back!" Dash teased as she flew away.
The mares chased each other happily to a field on the outskirts of town. They tumbled together down a hill, laughing.
"Ah gotcha now, Dashie!" AJ laughed, grabbing her hat from Dash with her teeth.
Both mares laughed as they played tug of war with the hat.
"Hah hah! You won't get it that easily!" Dash teased Applejack, pinning her to the ground.
Then, Rainbow placed the hat gently on Applejack's head.
"Here ya go." Dash said, staring at Applejack. "Here's your hat."
"Thainks Dash. Ah naiver thought ah'd say this, but ya maik me feel lahk nothin' ailse maiters. Ah just wanna be with you." Applejack confided in Dash.
"I feel the same." Dash said sweetly. "And I know that we'll always be together in our hearts, no matter how far apart we are in distance."
Dash slowly cuddled up next to Applejack, as they fell asleep together, under the apple tree.
