Dead Rising: Off the World

Chapter 9 - Black Out----------

Cliff managed to take a peek in the small cottage. He saw many items barricading the front door, along with wooden planks covering the window. There was no source of light, making it incredibly dark. And he hated darkness because it leaves him in a state of confusion.

The man pulled himself out of the hole and covered it up (in a strange fashion). He put up his machete in a defensive stance, ready for anything to pop out of nowhere and begin attacking him.

There was absolute silence... except for the sound of fear.

Small squeals were heard on the floor, but he couldn't see anything. Cliff decided to use one of the dumbest tactics he had ever used in his life; rolling on the floor. He began rolling around, attempting to find the source of the noise, but he failed to do so. The noise began coming from the ceiling.

'I swear to God, if this is yet *another** lunatic, I am definitely going to kill myself.'*

But the Hatchet Man was not ready to give up yet. If he talked, then the 'friend' of the two ponies outside would definitely think he's hostile (considering how the two themselves were intimidated by him when he talked). Cliff came up with a final resort.

'Here goes nothing...'

He lifted his machete up and hacked the floor beneath him with a single swing. A quiet scream was heard above him, and a 'plop' noise was heard behind him. His instincts told him to decapitate whatever it was, which he almost did.

Cliff felt himself turn around slowly. He could see a little better, but not enough to fully grasp what was really in front of him. A yellow Pegasus seemed to cower in his presence.

And for some reason, he blacked out.

The next release will be separated into two parts, and I don't want to rush on it to quickly. Part I will be listed in Friday.
