It’s dark… And it’s cold… No. It’s not cold; it’s actually warm.
Something’s not right… Something is… Missing? Yeah, that must be it. Something is missing… But, what?
“Wait, something’s happening.” I interrupt myself. It’s true, something is happening. I can see a line, a thin white line in front of me. It looks as if it’s far away, but my senses tell me that it’s much much closer.
I can feel a large sensation overtaking me. A rush of adrenaline brings me to my senses, but fades as fast as it came. My muscles stiffen as I take in a sharp breath of air. My eyes shoot open once my lungs are full, and I find myself falling back into the bed.
I feel a dizzy feeling as my head thumps onto a pillow. I shut my eyes again, hoping for the dizziness to fade. I feel as if my head is being spun off like a screw under a drill bit, so I wait. I wait with my eyes clamped shut for what feels like an eternity, but was probably only about 20 seconds.
After my condition drops to mere lightheaded, I try opening my eyes again. As I open my eyes: I take in my surroundings. I note blue walls and a white ceiling. Upon further inspection I can see a small wooden table to the left of the bed that I’m in; holding nothing but a glass of water and a lamp. On the side of the room the foot of the bed is facing: I see a desk with some paper and another lamp in front of a window.
I look down at my arms as I notice something seems off. My arms are covered with soft grey fur. “Is this not how they should be?” I think to myself. I quickly dismiss the thought as I hear movement. I glance over to my left a bit farther than last time to see a door. “I must be in somebody’s house…” I mutter under my breath.
With a bit of struggle, I manage to push the blanket off of me and make another attempt at sitting up. I barely achieve my task to sit up in the bed, with my arms planted firmly between my legs. My first thought upon reaching my goal is that it took more effort to sit up than I had anticipated. I also noted that I am leaning a bit farther forward than I thought I would. “I must still be tired…” I tell myself. My next goal is to get out of bed, which proves to be a greater challenge than I assumed.
My first (and only) attempt at literally exiting the bed leads to me falling on my face. After a significant amount of fidgeting, I manage to stand up on all fours. My off feeling only grows once I actually stand up. “Is this even how you do it?” I ask myself.
One leg at a time, I make my way to the door. Once I reach my destination, my first instinct is to put my right arm up to the door to grab something. Once my hoof hit a flat surface, however, I question my action. I notice that the door swayed slightly when I bumped it, and decide that I need to merely push forward into it to go through. Behind the door I find a hallway. I speculate that it’s about 12 ft. long, and begin my short-lived journey to the main room where I find something I hadn't expected in a long shot.
