Chapter 6

Previous Chapter

It was another bright and sunny day. The temperature outside was cool and just right for playing with friends. The birds were singing, the sound of busy food stands where ponies were buying groceries could be heard nearby and Rainbow Dash was being quiet sitting on the couch nearby while Twilight read a book. Wait. What?! Alarms went off in Twilight's head. She looked over to where Rainbow was calmly sitting and being patient. Something was very, very, very wrong with this picture. Twilight had never seen Rainbow sit down for more than 10 minutes unless there was incentive of some sort. Wait. That's it. Twilight looked at her marefriend once more and saw her sitting there, watching her read. Twilight was scared. Was Discord taking over Ponyville again? No, he swore that off a while ago. Was the world about to end? Doubt it. Twilight would have seen signs of the apocalypse. So if there was no impending danger, WHY WAS RAINBOW JUST SITTING THERE?! Inside no less??? Twilight attempted to read some more, but the alarms in her brain were ringing louder than ever. Twilight had a crazy idea.

"I'll... ask her what's going on." Twilight turned around on sofa and faced Rainbow, who looked at her with a shit eating grin on her face. "H-hey Rainbow." Twilight said nervously.

"Hey, Twi. What's up? I thought you were gonna read more." Rainbow said nonchalantly. Twilight was growing more suspicious by the minute. Normally Rainbow would be all like "UGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! Twiiiiiiiiiii! When can we go outside and do, you know, FUN things?" However, she was just sitting there! Did I mention patiently?!

"Well, I uhm, I was. Then I thought I would see what you were doing." Twilight was hoping to figure out what Rainbow was doing without asking directly. Rainbow still kept that grin on her face. Sitting there. Not twitching or shuffling or anything remotely like what she would normally be doing.

"Just chillin." Rainbow said casually.

"Oh. Okay." Twilight said awkwardly. Wait. What if she was trying to prank Twilight? She began looking around to see if there was anything that could seem like it would be used as a weapon against her. "Sooooooooo. Rainbow. Got any plans for today?" Twilight was trying anything she could to incriminate her.

"Not in particular." Rainbow said. Twilight's eyes were twitching. What the hell was she up to? The alarms in her brain were now sirens screaming into a megaphone.

"Okay. Not going to see any of the girls or do stunts today?" Twilight asked curiously

"Nope." Rainbow said. Still wearing that goddamn grin on her face, getting Twilight more and more irritated by the minute.

"Okay. I'm gonna go read now." Twilight said, trying to hide her irritation from Rainbow. A few minutes went by, an d Rain bow was still quiet, still sitting there, and Twilight was getting a bit pissed. "Alright." Twilight said as she slammed her book shut.

"Alright, what?" Rainbow said curious, now grinning like a madmare.

"You're planning something. What the fuck is it?" Twilight said as she tried calm herself.

"I dunno what you're talking about Twi. I'm just watching my sweet, beautiful bookworm enjoy a book." Rainbow said calmly with a sweet tone in her voice. Twilight's eye twitched again. She only ever called her egghead, never bookworm. What. The. Hell was she up to?!

"You never sit down so calmly like this. EVER." Twilight searched the room, again looking for traps of any kind.

"Well I am now." Rainbow said.

"That's what is bothering me so much!" Twilight was fuming now.

"Well, I dunno what to tell you Twi. I'm just chillin like a boss while you freak the fuck out. You need to relax." Rainbow was now lying down on the couch, feet propped up on the arm. Twilight just stared at her.

"Oh my Celestia! I can't anymore! I need to go outside." Twilight walked to the door, opened it, and had a bucket of flour dropped on her head. She heard the sound of Rainbow laughing her ass off as she fell on the ground.

"Holy shit! I thought you'd never do it! Hahahaha! Holy Celestia! Your face is priceless!" Rainbow was in tears from laughin g now. Twilight approached her marefriend and smiled gently.

"Ii will get you back, Rainbow. Maybe tomorrow, maybe ten years from now, who knows. I know you won't. Buuuut, you will regret this." Twilight said sweetly. Rainbow looked back at her with the same sweet smile.

"Totally worth it." Rainbow got up, walked outside, and flew off. Meanwhile, Pinkie was in the bushes with a camera watching the spectacle she had just seen, chuckling to herself so as to not alert Twilight.

"Rainbow was right, totally worth it." She then got up and went home.
