A pegasus stallion stood pacing outside of a hospital room. He had a bright blue coat with purple and red streaked mane. He also had jade eyes. Sat on a nearby bench was a colt about 6 or 7. He had his father's coat and jade eyes but he had a orange fiery mane. Despite hes mane, on his flank was a flask with a green liquid inside making green bubbles.
''Daddy? How much longer is mommy going to be in pain for?''
''Not much longer, Alchemy. But, remember when mommy's out of pain, your baby sister would have come to see you,''
''Come to see me?''
''Yes, son,''
Some time later, Alchemy was asleep while his father talked to the ponies who had appeared.
''You got a healthy baby filly, Mr Meteor,''
''Can I see Comet and the filly then?''
''Yes, come on in. Wake your son,''
''Alchemy,'' The colt woke up, ''Your baby sister is here,''
''YAY!'' yelled the colt.
''Quiet, she'll probably be asleep,''
''Come on, you two. To the nursery,''
They walked to the nursery where quite a few foals were. The nurse led to one where a filly was asleep with her mother looking lovely at her despite being tired.
The mare was a white pegasus with a orange mane and rose eyes. The filly was oddly a unicorn with a white coat, lavender mane and rose eyes. There was a name tag on the crib but it had no name written on it yet.
''Hi, Meteor,'' said the mare to her husband.
''Hi, Comet. Is that our baby?''
''Yep! Isn't she precious?''
''Yes but how is she a unicorn?''
''Simple,'' interrupted Nurse Redheart as she walked over, ''Genetics, you have unicorn in your genetic somewhere,''
''Oh....''
''Whats her name gonna be?''
''Well, we haven't picked yet,'' said Meteor.
''Hm. How about Rising Star?'' asked Comet.
''Cute, that will be her name,'' agreed Meteor, smiling. Two twin grey mares walked in. One was grey with a darker grey mane and purple eyes. A purple gem was adorn on her flank. The other was more purple then grey but still did have the grey tint. Her mane was a light grey, almost white, color. She had golden eyes and a yellow/orange/brown rock on her flank.
In the grey one's hooves was a violet pegasus filly with her mom's dark grey mane. She was grinning at her cousin with laughter in her purple eyes. The other filly was in the purple-grey mare's hooves and was a earth pony. She had a purplish-grey coat like her mom but golden mane and red eyes.
''Hi, Comet, Meteor,'' said the purple one while she smiled.
''Oh hi, Limestone,'' said Meteor before turning to Marble, ''You two, Marble,''
''Meet Amethyst Pie,'' said Marble looking down at her daughter.
''And Shell Beach,'' continued Limestone.
''Oh their adorable. Meet Rising Star,'' He sat picking up the young unicorn who was looking at the cousins in confusion. The parents smiled knowing that they would be friends.
As Rising grow, she grew less happy that she couldn't fly. They lived in Baltimare which was mostly populated by earth ponies such as her aunts Limestone and Marble and fillies such as one of best friends, Shell Beach.
Walking up with a jolt, she fell out of bed.
''Ow!!'' cried the filly unicorn.
''Rising, you okay?'' asked her older brother, Alchemy who was now a alchemist. He was also her big brother best friend forever or B.B.B.F.F.
''I'm fine,'' said Rising in a false voice before turning into a annoyed voice, ''WHAT'S IT LOOK LIKE?!''
''Okay, you don't have to yell,''
''Yes I do when I'm in pain and I got school in only a half a hour and Shell and Amy will be waiting for me!"
He laughed and said, ''Okay then. See you in 5 minutes,''
Rising hissed as he walked away but was soon moving to grab stuff for school only to stop once to look after a picture of her and her best friends, Amethyst Pie and Shell Beach, the Pie cousins. She smiled gently before running downstairs at high speed. Meteor was sat reading as he saw his daughter running.
Rising grabbed a piece of Toast with her magic and stuffed it in her mouth before yelling in a muffled voice, ''Bye, mommy. Bye, daddy. Bye, Alchemy!!!''
She finished her toast as she ran out of the door with her thick rose saddle bags on her back and it was full to the brim.
''UGH! Why did I pack so much!?''
''Rising!!'' Came a yell from a filly. It was Shell.
''Oh morning Shell,''
''Morning, Shell, Rising!''
''Morning, Amy,''
They keep moving asking question over question about what everypony did over the holidays. Rising's answer was going to the manehatten beach which made her best friends whine about wanting to go.
Shell's answer was just staying on the rockfarm that her parents run. Yes her Aunt Maud was the oldest of the Pie sisters but she didn't inherit the farm. Shell was to inherit the farm but she didn't want to.
Amy's answer was going to Ponyville to meet her Aunt Pinkie and Pinkie's friends. She did say though that she had a good time there meeting three fillies known as the Cutie Mark Crusaders and they made up their minds to create a Baltimare branch for the group.
So now they were on a guest to find their marks. Shell didn't want a rock cutie mark like most of her family as she was wild and crazy like her Aunt Pinkie and was even more crazy and energetic as she could fly. She wanted a flying cutie mark or something.
Amethyst wanted a cutie mark of a rock or a gem as she wanted to rockfarm despite not being in line for it like her twin-cousin as they referred to themselves. They were born on the same date.
Rising wanted a flying cutie mark despite being a unicorn. She loved clouds and spend hours learning about them and she loved the sky. She wanted to fly with all her might but knew she wouldn't be able to.
The group walked into the school ready for the new school year. It was their third year in Baltimare Elementary after all.
