Pony University

Trains, confessions, and bribing.

Previous Chapter

Train rides are typically boring. But when you have a good conversation starter, it can either be really good, or really bad. When you’re going to become a teacher, you’re friends can be a little irritated.

“A teaching job, huh?” Rainbow Dash said. “Why would you take a teaching job? And why did you drag us along with you.”

“A teaching job is something I’ve always wanted to do.” Twilight explained. “And I brought you all along because you can get free classes, and you get to choose them.”

“Yeah, still sound’s boring.” Rainbow said.

“Well, Celestia sent me a letter with all the available classes.” Twilight said. “Fluttershy, there’s a class about animals. Getting to know them and earning their trust.”

“Ooh, that sounds lovely.” Fluttershy said.

“There’s also a marching band.” Twilight said. “Ponies can participate, if they can play an instrument of course.”

“A marching band!” Pinkie Pie shouted excitedly. “Maybe I can play my genuine crystal bugle horn!” Pinkie pulled a bugle horn out of her bag and played it. Every pony in the train covered their ears in agony. Pinkie stopped. “What?”

“Rarity, there’s three sewing classes. Beginner, intermediate, and expert.” Twilight said to Rarity.

“That sounds fun. But I have to be in expert.” Rarity said.

“That won’t be a problem. Celestia says that you can choose your own classes, no matter what the level.” Twilight explained. “And when the year is over, three courters of the items made will be donated to the Manehattan homeless pony shelter.”

“That’s very generous.” Rarity said. “Suits me, don’t you think?”

“It does indeed.” Twilight said. “Applejack, well in does…”

“No offense Twilight, but I was hopin’ I could help ya out.” Applejack said.

“Thank you Applejack.” Twilight said. “In fact, it doesn’t seem like there’s anything that would accommodate you.”

“That’s all right; I didn’t want to go to school anyway.” Applejack admitted.

“Well, Rainbow Dash, I have just the idea for you.” Twilight told Rainbow Dash.

“Lame.” Rainbow said.

“A position on the school faculty would suit you.” Twilight said. “You and other ponies would be able to choose the events that go on at the school. You get to choose what special events happen. And every pony would have to go to them. Even the teachers.”

“I’m in!” Rainbow yelled.

“Good. So we all know what we want to do?” Twilight asked.

“Oh yeah!”

“Absolutely!”

“Yes-in-deedily!”

“Yep.”

“I, I guess.”

“Great.” Twilight said. “Now, we’ll be greeted by the school’s headmaster. His name is John De Lancie.”

“I’ve heard about him!” Rainbow said. “His voice is supposed to sound a lot like Discord’s.”

“Okay.” Twilight said.

“All off for Pony University!” The conductor shouted.

“Okay let’s get off.” So the six ponies and one dragon got off the train. Greeting them was a brown unicorn with a grey mane and goatee.

“I’m John De Lancie, the headmaster of Pony University.”
