My name is Twilight Sparkle. Huh? What do you mean, " Where's my wings?" I think you might have me mixed up with somepony else. Well, since you're here, You might as well stick around. Now, where do I begin? Well, I'm an honors graduate from Princess Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns. Once I graduated, I moved up to Baltimare.

That's where I met him.

His name was Flash Sentry. I could tell he felt the same way I did after we accidentally bumped into each other. After a few hundred dates, we both came to realize that we had found our special somepony. So, naturally, I moved in with Flash.

In terms of what I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to become a scientist and change the lives of ponies everywhere. I managed to get a job as a librarian at the Baltimare Public Library, just until I had the money to get into a good college with a science program.

Funny thing about life is that just when you think you know what you want to do and are on the brink of doing it, something happens that shows you your true path.

One day, after I got home from work, I got a call that said my beloved Flash had been hospitalized from injuries he got from a mugging. See, the thing about living in Baltimare, is that although it looks like a wonderful city, it's actually a rotting metropolis. Good cops are about as hard to find as a dodo bird. And what are the city officials doing about this? Well, the ones who aren't paid by the crime lords are too scared to do anything but sit with their thumbs planted nice and firmly up their asses.

I'd always thought it was just part of city living. But, this was no way to live. So, I decided to do something about it. I went to the lab I had set up in me and Flash's apartment, and created a costume and some weaponry and equipment. But, every masked vigilante has an alias that they use. It only took me a moment to think of one:

Mare Do Well.

~

In a simple yet cozy apartment, we find two anthropmorphic ponies, a unicom mare with a lavender coat, a dark blue mane and tail, and currently wearing nothing but baby blue bra and panties. The second pony was a pegasus stallion with a tan coat, a dark blue mane and tail, and wearing a pair of blue jeans.

The mare, Twilight Sparkle, opened her deep purple eyes. As much as she wanted to just stay there with her beloved Flash Sentry, the scars on her love's exposed torso reminded her that she had work to do.

Twilight slipped out of bed and pulled out a trunk from underneath it. Opening it, Twilight couldn't help but smirk at her "night job" uniform: a purple bodysuit that almost looked like armor, dark blue gloves and boots that were made of the same material as the suit, a utility belt that held weapons such as flashbangs and smoke bombs. There was even a claw-ended grappling hook. Completing the onsomble was a dark blue cape with a purple lining on the inside and a purple protusion, a dark blue mask with baby blue eyepieces, and a large purple fedora that kind of looked like a musketeer hat. On the cape was a blue clasp with a stylized white "M" on it.

Twilight put on her costume. With one final look at her sleeping Flash Sentry, Mare Do Well went onto the balcony and teleported herself to the nearest rooftop.

"Come on! We've gotta get outta here before the freak shows up!" a robber told his three accomplices as they were looting a jewlery store.

One of the thugs scoffed. "You actually believe in that stupid rumor? There is no 'Mare Do Whatever,' ya idjit!" he said.

"Really? If I didn't exist, could I do this?" said a raspy voice from the shadows, before a blast of purple electricity blasted the non-believer, sending him flying into the wall, knocking him out. Standing in front of the window the robbers had broken was Mare Do Well.

The remaining thugs turned and opened fire. Mare Do Well simply used her magic to avoid the hail of bullets. She delivered a roundhouse kick to one of the robbers, sending him to the ground. The remaining two faired no better.

In a matter of moments, all four thugs were battered and beaten.

As the cops pulled up, a triumphant Mare Do Well turned to face them. She tipped her hat and said, "My regards to whatever crime boss you sorry excuses for lawkeepers work for."

With that, Mare Do Well teleported away to a rooftop five blocks away.

Sitting at his desk in his multi highrise headquarters was a shady figure, but clearly a stallion. This was The Big Boss, one of the most feared crime lords in Baltimare.

On his computer screen was live footage of Mare Do Well trouncing the robbers.

This Mysterious Mare Do Well seems to have forgotten her place in this city... perhaps it's time to send a new mission to Boomboxer, thought Big Boss as he pressed the button on his intercom.

"Yes, Big Boss?" said a southern voice through the intercom speaker.

"Boomboxer, I have a new task for you: bring me Mare Do Well. Alive," said Big Boss in his deep and gruff voice.

"Mare Do Well? Isn't she just a new urban legend?" asked the voice on the intercom.

"Oh, trust me Boomboxer. She's as real as I am. Just cause a little meyhem and she'll show up. Trust me," said Big Boss.

As Mare Do Well got home at the crack of dawn, she saw Flash Sentry sleeping soundly. As Twilight removed her suit and put it back in the trunk, she noticed that Flash's injuries still weren't fully healed. And Twilight had taken enough health classes to know that the scars should've at least began to fade.

Whatever it is, I'll ask him in the morning, thought Twilight as she snuggled back into bed with her dearly beloved, removing the playing card that was on the bed. It was a habit of Flash's to spend a good hunk of money on playing cards. Twilight still had no idea where they went.
