Boomboxer Brawl

"Now, stay still, little pricks!" said Boomboxer as he charged up another blast.

Mare Do Well and Blackjack managed to avoid the second blast.

"Ever had anything like this happen to you before, Blackjack?" asked Mare Do Well.

"Nope, not really," said Blackjack, before running at Boomboxer with his staff, which seemed to not do do a lot of damage.

"Huh. It never occured to me that this suit did more than just protect me from my own power," said Boomboxer, before firing a blast that sent Blackjack flying.

"Yo, Paded Pete!" yelled Mare Do Well.

Boomboxer turned around to see what looked like a M-shaped throwing star slash across his left gauntlet, disabling it.

"Gah! You'll pay for that! Luckily, Boomboxer happens to be ambidexterious," said Boomboxer as he charged up his remaining gauntlet and fired, blasting Mare Do Well through  a nearby wall and into a billards hall, where she landed on a pool table.

Boomboxer, no doubt smiling under his padded mask at the sight of the dazed heroine, walked up to Mare Do Well and charged up his gauntlet.

"Sweet dreams, my little pony," said Boomboxer.

"Is this your card?" said a male voice, before a playing card detonated on the back of Boomboxer's head.

Slightly dazed and disortiented, Boomboxer turned to face Blackjack, who had an arc of crackling playing cards over his head.

"It'll take more than one of your rigged cards to beat me, sonny jim," said Boomboxer.

"Then how's about a Royal Flush?" said Blackjack, before firing off his cards.

Each card hit Boomboxer in either the chest or the head, which sent him flying through the wall and into the bar, out cold.

Mare Do Well groaned as Blackjack helped her up.

"I totally had him!" she told Blackjack angrily.

"Uh-huh, sure you did. We actually make a pretty good team," said Blackjack.

Mare Do Well sighed in defeat. "I suppose you're right," she said.

Blackjack chuckled. "Well, I'd better head for home. My girlfriend's probably waiting for me," he said, before taking flight.

Mare Do Well stood there and watched Blackjack go. Oddly enough, she couldn't help feeling as though there was something familiar about him...

"Honey, I'm home," whispered Flash Sentry as he walked into the apartment.

He walked into the bedroom and found his beloved Twilight fast asleep on the bed.

Flash smirked. She's gonna need a decent amount of sleep after our battle with Boomboxer tonight, thought Flash.

Flash walked into the living room and opened his briefcase.

Inside was the costume, staff, and playing cards of Blackjack.

Elsewhere in Baltimare, the Big Boss was fuming behind his desk. Boomboxer had failed him. He had no choice but to send out his best henchpony... if he failed... then, he'd have to find some assasins-for-hire, and his funds were already stretched enough from helping Manehattan recover from that explosion.

Better give him the call, then, thought Big Boss as he picked up the phone to call Tricky Sorts, aka Fear Master...
