Chapters Butterscotch bit his lip as he walked through the small orchard that lead to the arial physical education grounds. It really was just a big plane of flat clouds with different activities set up. He had always hated P.E because even though his wings were average and he could fly properly, He still was not very good at it. He was neither fast, nor agile and had no idea how to do any of the stuff the other, more advanced students did.
Butterscotch watched as one of the sixth forms glide by as he thought, she had short, blue hair gelled to stay upright as if to say "hey, my hair defies gravity, what does your's do?"
Either way he knew her name, they all did, Soarine, the most talented flyer in the school, the one who has been chosen to move up to the wonderbolt's academy next year.
She gave him a quick wave and a grin before she pulled up again to do some more acrobatics. He timidly waved back but didn't know if she saw him. He blew a few strands of his long, pastel pink hair out of his face and quietly sit down in the shade of an elm.
Butterscotch looked at the others of his kind, the winged, and felt kind of left out. He much preferred it on the ground and didn't think he would ever get the knack of flying. So he didn't really connect with the others of his kind, and was always friends with the other two, the unicorn descendants and the earth pony descendants. He gently pulled the sleeves of his yellow hoodie over his pale hands and hugged his knees to his chest as to create himself some comfort.
He was just drifting off when He heard a low voice shouting.
"Hey! You! Scrawny kid with the pink hair, pull yourself together and fly for once!" Butterscotch could only assume he was talking to him and sure enough there he was, the coach, stomping towards Scotch with an angry look on his face.
As he finally reached him he grabbed the collar of his shirt and dragged him off of the floor. He growled threateningly at Scotch and dragged him, still by his collar, to the agility hoops.
"Fly through some of these kid, jeez!" He said a little too loudly as he planted him on the spot and let go of his collar.
As he walked away Scotch heard some laughter coming from behind him. He whizzed around to see a group of people his age smirking at him. He was, of course, as red as a beet root. He saw no other option as he was, well, being watched by a very angry instructor and some giggly year 11s, so he sighed reluctantly and stretched his wings properly before he took off to fly through the first hoop.
He flew through all the hoops several times quite easily, and so decided to go faster. Scotch was not an adrenaline junkee, but he didn't mind a challenge, so he got at his fastest pace, darting through the first, second, third hoop. Fourth, fifth, six- and he collided into something blue that was flying very, very fast. Scotch and the thing he crashed into tumbled down towards the ground and landed with a loud THUD. Thank Solaris clouds are soft.
He opened his eyes to see that he was on top of, looking face down, at a blue shirt. His eyes trailed up from the shirt to see a boy his age that was glaring very angrily at him. He hurriedly stumbled off of him, blushing like mad, but fell back down. The boy stood up and turned to Scotch. He narrowed his eyes at him and grabbed his hoodie collar. He pulled him aggressively off the floor. That was the second time that had happened.
"I- I- I'm r- really sorry!!!" Scotch stuttered helplessly.
"You fucking well should be" the boy spat the words at Scotch and dragged him over to the wall that blocked the school off from some houses on the other side of the perimeter of the clouds.
He violent shoved him up against the wall and pined him there with one hand. With the other he turned it into a fist and drew it back. Scotch closed his eyes, waiting for the pain to come. It wasn't the first time he'd been punched.
But the pain never came. Instead the boy slammed the palm of his hand on the wall next to him. His eyes were piercing, and calculating as he stared at Scotch, taking every last detail in about him. And as He looked at him for the first time Scotch saw how handsome he actually was.
He had short, choppy, rainbow coloured hair. His eyes were big and a deep shade of magenta. His eyebrows were dark which gave him an almost mischievous expression. And his cheekbones!
They stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, all the while his face was getting closer, and closer, so that their noses were almost touching. Scotch could feel his warm breath on his cheek. The boy gave him a playful smile and said in a cocky voice
"you're cute, ya know that?"
"I- um..." Scotch mumbled incoherently.
The boy let go of his gip on him and He slid down the wall, onto the grass. The boy stood above him, looking down on him.
"What's your name?" He asked inquisitively.
"Butterscotch" Scotch whisper sheepishly.
"What was that?" He asked, cupping a hand to his ear.
"I didn't quite hear ya cutie pie!" He added. Scotch whimpered high pitched at the name 'cutie pie' but raised his voice to a normal person's.
"My name is Butterscotch." He said.
"Oh! Well, I have to take off now, get back to flying, but have a good day Butterscotch!" He unfolded his, larger than average, wings and was about to fly off when he turned around and grinned at Scotch saying.
"I'm Rainbow Blitz, by the way!" And with that he flew off, at a tremendous speed.
And Scotch was left alone here, sitting against a wall, blushing like a girl.
Butterscotch got up from the wall and straightened himself out.
"That was a thing... That... Um... That happened..." He mumbled to himself. He walked from the wall and back to the orchard that encased the path.
It really was a beautiful walk through there. The apple tree's branches outstretched over the dirt track like a shelter made out of interlocking arms of the trees. The apples gave off a sweet smell and Butterscotch picked one that looked particularly juicy. As he bit into it an explosion of sugary juice and delicious chunks of apple rushed in his mouth, making him hum in pleasure.
A little way off a boy with blonde hair wearing an orange plaid shirt was tending to a tree, and the tree next to it was being looked after by a girl a little older than him with ginger hair and a red shirt tied up to show her stomach.
"It must be really hard working in this heat..." Scotch thought to himself as he looked up at the merciless sun beaming down on them.
The boy in the plaid shirt gave Scotch a wave and he waved back. The boy pointed at the half eaten apple and Scotch gave him a thumbs up. It was delicious.
Finally Scotch got back to school. His high school was a big brick building with a small building made out of glass at one end, and big windows placed at each classroom.
Scotch could see his friend Bubble Berry in maths. He was drumming his pen extremely quickly on the desk and swinging his legs back and forth. Berry turned his head to look out of the window and saw Scotch. Berry gave Scotch an enthusiastic grin and mimicked a giant yawn. In return the teacher pointed an accusing finger at Berry.
Scotch hurriedly walked towards the main entrance so the teacher couldn't see him.
After climbing a few sets of stairs , which to tell you the truth was more of a work out than doing ariel P.E, Scotch reached the maths room on the top floor and waited for Berry's class to end.
Soon enough it did, and out came Berry with a skip and a jump. He waved cheerily at the teacher who was scowling back at him.
"How was math?" Scotch asked.
"Good! But I did get a detention!" He replied cheerily.
"Wait, what?"
"Yep-sy-doo-daa! That silly teacher!" Berry said lightheartedly.
Scotch didn't understand how Berry could make anything sound like it was the best thing in the world, or just a minor detail. It was a talent, just like how Elusive could make anything sound dramatic. Speaking of Elusive...
"Hey, what class was Elusive in?" Scotch asked.
"Oh, umm, I don't know!" Berry said innocently.
"I'm right here you bafoon!" Elusive said from behind them, sporting a fashionable waste coat and white shirt.
Scotch looked from Elusive's top of the line, men's designer outfit, to Berry's brightly coloured pink t-shirt and blue jeans, and back to his calm yellow hoodie. Their clothes represented their personalities really, Elusive being sophisticated and cultured, Berry being confident and friendly, and Scotch being... Well shy. How they all stayed friends for so long he would never know.
Elusive, Berry, Scotch and their other friend Dusk Shine had all been best friends ever since they all started high school in year 7. They all knew each other's tendencies and habits, and so could get on quite well with each other.
"I have been sitting across from you during the whole lesson, how could you miss me?" Elusive asked in a offended matter.
"I was smiling at Butterscotch" Berry said defensively, twiddling his thumbs.
Elusive glared at Bubble Berry for a few seconds before addressing Butterscotch.
"Dusk's in Canterlot again, I don't see why." Elusive said begrudgingly as he checked his fingernails for the fifth time. Butterscotch raised an eyebrow at him.
"He has to study wi-"
"Well, yes, obviously I know that he has to study with Princd Solaris, but why so much? He's our friend too, and we hardly get to see him anymore!" Elusive whined.
"He'll be back next week." Scotch said reassuringly, patting him on the back.
"Oh this has turned out to be the worst day ever! First I accidentally eat a non-fat free yoguht this morning, next I run into that reckless 'DJ', Record Scratch, who insisted I listen to some of his garish music, then I get completely ignored by one of my best friends in math class, and finally Dusk isn't even here!" Elusive listed the things one by one, his voice getting more and more dramatic with each one.
Bubble berry smiled sympathetically.
"Elusive, you kind o-"
"I understand, it must be hard for you!" Berry said in a empathetic tone.
"Uh-hu" Elusive pouted.
"I mean, a guy like you deserves way better, right?" Berry flattered.
"Well, yes..." Elusive's pout grew bigger.
"But surely since you're such a mature guy, you can move on!" Berry suggested.
Elusive stared thoughtfully at the ground for a few seconds before saying
"Yes, you're right!"
Elusive turned to Scotch.
"Me and Mr. Unobservant over here" He gestured to Berry.
"Will be in the music room, we'll wait for you to get your lunch, ok?"
"Yeah, sure..." Scotch said, nodding.
"Ok, great, c'mon you idiot..." Elusive rolled his eyes as he set of towards the music room, Berry bouncing after him.
Butterscotch found himself thinking about Rainbow Blitz as he walked down the flights of stairs to the canteen. He had been confused about the whole incident and honestly couldn't be bothered with trying to remember it correctly. But that Rainbow Blitz... Well, Scotch could remember him fine.
"I just... I promised myself no one would find out.. and they won't." He hung his head, his soft, pastel pink hair falling over his face, shielding it, from people seeing he was blushing again.
"For gods sake, butterscotch, sometimes I think you're more girly than anything else!" Scotch scolded himself, but didn't lift his head to push the hair out of his face.
Scotch had finally reached the corridor leading to the doors of the canteen. His stomach rumbled in anticipation, making him remember that apart from the apple before, he hadn't eaten anything that day.
The shy boy timidly tried to push his way through the crowd that was always buzzing around the entrance to the place.
Unfortunately Scotch didn't notice a certain teacher coming out of the canteen, which meant a rather awkward run in for him.
"Oh Butterscotch, marvellous, I've been hoping to bump into you!" Miss Note exclaimed cheerfully, grabbing hold of Scotch's shoulders and shaking him.
"Oh, um, I..."
"So, you and that charming boy Elusive will be singing at the summer spectacular I presume!" Miss Note raised an eyebrow.
"Well, um, actually you see I..."
"Excellent! There is a meeting tomorrow about it!" Miss Note grinned widely, while pushing a leaflet into Scotch's hands.
Miss Note walked of towards the staff room, humming and merry tune.
"Great..." Scotch sighed. He walked, defeated, to the canteen. At least he could some lunch.
As he pushed his way through the big glass doors that were the entrance to the canteen, Scotch could see a gigantic line for hot foods.
He was about to turn begrudgingly to the smaller line to get a salad, when he felt someone's hand grip onto his shoulder.
"Hey! Butterscotch right?" Scotch turned around to find Rainbow Blitz smiling cockily at him, wearing the same expression from earlier that day
"Remember me? The guy that almost punched you in the face?"
"Yeah, about that... Um.... I really am sorry!" Scotch squeaked.
"Oh, no problem, my bad!" Rainbow Blitz laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head.
"I can be kind of a jerk sometimes... But you know, you are cute!" Rainbow Blitz winked at Scotch.
"Well, um, I, um... I just... I mean, I'm not..." Butterscotch shook his head violently.
"Listen, Rainbow Blit-"
"Just call me Blitz."
" Blitz, lovely chatting with you but I need to go stand in a 15 minute line to get some decent food, so goodbye!" He blurted out quickly. Scotch had noticed that all the salads had been taken during their conversation, and so he had no choice but to starve to death, or to wait in the queue for hot food.
Butterscotch turned towards the massive line of people and stood behind the last person in it, a boy with long-ish, very curly, orange hair.
"Hey, no problem!" Blitz said from behind him, and walked confidently towards the lady currently serving at the till.
Butterscotch watched, confused, As Rainbow Blitz smiled and talked to the lady. The lady rolled her eyes and gestured towards the food selection.
"What the hell is he doing?" Scotch murmured under his breath.
Blitz took a pizza baguette, which was a margarita pizza cooked on a baguette, and walked back to the lady, gave her some money, and started walking back towards Scotch.
On the way, an angry looking girl said something, obviously about Blitz cutting the queue. Scotch recognised the girl from a time they were paired up together in chemistry. The girl's name was belle, she was the Cloudsdale female weight lifting champion for their age group, and was a very obnoxious, rowdy, and just generaly unpleasant girl.
Blitz just rolled his eyes and kept on walking until he got back to Scotch.
"Here ya go, now you don't have to wait in line!" He smiled, handing Butterscotch the plate.
"Thanks, but I don't see why you did this for me..." Scotch sheepishly took the plate and bit into the baguette.
"Partly to make up for the fact I almost beat the snot outta you, which must have scared you, and also becuase, as I've said before, you're cute!" Blitz said raising an eyebrow cockily at him.
Scotch was about to respond when he heard a familiar voice calling his name. He turned round to see Barbara, Dusk Shine's spunky twelve year old sister. She was wearing a thin purple t shirt over a green tank top, and purple studded shorts.
"Hey Butterscotch!" Barb smiled cheerfully as she walked over to him.
"Elusive told me to tell you to hurry up." She said, adjusting her ponytail.
Before Scotch could reply Blitz gave a sarcastic snort next to him.
"Elusive? Do you mean the stuck up guy who makes all the dresses?" Blitz retorted eyeing Butterscotch.
"Hey! That stuck up guy is my bestfriend's brother and my friend! I don't know who the hell you are!" Barb narrowed her eyes at him, obviously a bit offended by the comment.
"AHEM! Sorry Barb, this is Rainbow Blitz, Rainbow Blitz, this is Barbara." Scotch thought it would be wise to cut that conversation short as to avoid an argument.
"Hey..." Barb muttered thoutfully, placing a hand to her chin.
"I know you! Your Scootaroll's mate!" She clicked her fingers and smiled broadly, as if in triumph.
"You know squirt? Wait, your that Barb? I thought you were a guy!" Blittz realised this as he said it.
"Oh did you now? One second please..." Barb said through gritted teeth, she proceeded to walk over to the table where Barb's friends were sitting and started talking, what seemed very angrily, to a boy with short purple hair and wearing an orange t-shirt. Scotch could recognise Sweepy Belle, Elusive's little brother, sitting next to the boy, and by the looks of things Sweepy was very surprised at his friend's sudden outburst.
"Hey, listen, I've got to go, that stuck up guy is my best friend so..." Scotch said, thinking this was the perfect time to just leave.
"Sure, but I'll catch you later babe" Blitz said seductivly, blowing him a kiss.
And for the second time that day, Blitz left Butterscotch standing there blushing like a beet root, only this time holding pizza.
Butterscotch watched Blitz's back until he melted in with the rest of the crowd. As soon as Blitz was engulfed into the body of students in the canteen, Butterscotch stuffed the baguette into his mouth and ran out of the canteen, racing towards the stairs.
Oh my... That was so embarrassing! He cringed internally as he sprinted up the first flight of stairs.
Two more and I'll be back with my friends, in a comfortable environment! Scotch motivated himself to keep going.
With, less big lines, less embarrassing boys with messy hair and deep magenta eyes, and less people! He breathed heavily as he finally pushed the big glass doors to the third floor open, walked towards the music room. Before he went in Scotch stopped to catch his breath.
He peaked through the small slit of a window in the door, to see Elusive impatiently tapping his foot, and Bubble Berry running his fingers fluently over the keys of the grand piano, grinning as he did.
Scotch pushed the door open to hear the wonderful sound of Mozart being expertly performed. Which immediately stopped as soon as his presence was noticed.
"You really do have a talent for that, you know..." Scotch offered Berry a weak compliment to cover up the fact that he was late.
"Oh my Solaris, Butterscotch!" Elusive sighed exasperatedly.
"We have been waiting for, like, forever for you!"
"Sorry, it's just I ran into Miss Note, and then into Bli- I mean Rainbow Bli-"
"No matter, no matter! Because guess what?!" Elusive cut Scotch off excitedly.
Scotch sighed. When you were having a conversation with Elusive you could never get a word in edge ways...
"I don't know Elusive, what?" He deadpanned, completely uninterested.
Elusive didn't speak, but only shoved a crumpled piece of paper into Butterscotch's face. He took the paper and read it over.

Magical Mystery
A dance? As in dancing with girls and stuff? And dressing up? Big crowds and loud music? Scotch did as best he could to steer the conversation away from that undesirable topic.
"Oh! That reminds me! There's this 'summer spectacular' thing, Miss Note wants us to perform in, here's the leaflet..." Scotch pulled the now dog-eared leaflet out of his pocket and handed it to Elusive who looked at the object with confusion, and then at Butterscotch, and then back at the leaflet, and back at Scotch. He then tossed the leaflet to Bubble Berry, who caught it with ease, and stood up straight, looking down at Scotch.
"What's wrong?" He asked in an offended tone.
"What do you mean?" Scotch replied innocently.
"You... You just ignored the poster completely! What's wrong with the dance?!" Elusive's voice went very high pitch.
"Nothing! It's... Fine..." Scotch voice was getting quieter, which was usually the result when he got nervous.
"Fine?"
"Fine."
"Tell me what you really think!"
"No, it's okay..."
"Tell me!"
"No, it's fine..."
"Please tell me!"
"Please just stop asking me..."
"Tell-me-tell-me-tell-me!!!" Elusive pleaded stamping his foot.
"Well... Okay... Since you really want to know..." Butterscotch inhaled deeply.
"The decoration is always tacky with some sort of cheesy theme that never actually fits with the school's demeanour, how could it since the theme is never going to be 'just wear a hoodie and sweat pants', The music is either played by some grandpa disc jockey, but that's usually for primary schools, which means in high school it's some student who claims to be an 'upcoming DJ' which means he'll probably play the music way to loud and it'll be that horrible 'dubstep' music or that R&B stuff that always makes me feel really uncomfortable, and we have to dress up in suits and that makes me look and feel really awkward and just like some sort of penguin, although penguins are actually really respectable creatures, I've lent you the DVD of the march of the penguins right? Well, anyway not like a penguin, more like one of those waiters that everybody makes fun of, and I just know that everybody will laugh at me! And then we have to dance with girls and I find it hard to even be in a big crowd, how am I supposed to dance with a girl in one? And it always just ends up that somebody brung alcohol and whole thing just gets closed down after an hour!" Scotch ranted, suprising even himself how much of an opinion he had on the subject.
Elusive's jaw hung open in complete surprise. He was about to say something when Butterscotch quickly interrupted him.
"Was that the bell?! I better get going then, because I have geography next and you know how Mr Globe can be, okayseeyabye!" Scotch blurted out as fast as he could, before rushing out of the room and down the stairs.
"I still haven't given that DVD back to him yet..." Bubble Berry commented thoughtfully.

Butterscotch unlocked his front door and opened it, revealing the big living room that could be seen when entering his house. His mum would still be at work this time of the day, aswell as his dad, and his siblings were either at college or university, or at their own houses, so Scotch had the house to himself. He placed his bag down on the table, and walked tiredly towards the kitchen.
Once inside he reached up towards the cupboard where the rabbit food for Angel, his pet rabbit, was. Butterscotch was average height for his age, but not tall, so he couldn't quite reach the big bag. He stood on his tiptoes, his sneakers squeaking against the tiled foor. He was just a fingers distance away from reaching his prize. Scotch grunted with effort and was finally able to grab the bottom corner of the bag of feed.
A grin of relief broke out on Butterscotch's face.
The door bell rang. It surprised Butterscotch enough to make him jolt, which prompted the bag of rabbit food to come tumbling down on him. Scotch lay on the cold floor, winded, with the heavy bag of feed lying on top of his stomach. Luckily for him, it was unopened. The doorbell sounded again.
Scotch groaned as he got up, holding a hand to his stomach. He trudged out of the kitchen and through the living room to the door. He opened it to see a girl he had not seen in quite some time, despite their frequent communication through letters.
There stood Eris, the goddess of chaos, in all her glory. She had silver white wavy hair, dip dyed black, that went all the way down to her waist. Covering her torso was a brown dress blouse, pink tie, and grey waste coat with darker verticle stripes. Accompanying this was a tube mini skirt identicle to the waste coat, accentuating her curvy figure. She wore two high heeled boots, one green, one tan. She was known for quirky dress sense. At least, that's what Elusive always said. Her skin was pale, but not in a sickly way, more like an English rose kind of way. She had bright yellow eyes, with no iris, and red pupils. Her eyes were very unique, unlike any other, but seemed to fit her perfectly, as they darted around curiously. She had one blue unicorn horn coming out from one side of her head, and a white deer's antler coming from the other.
Everybody Scotch knew agreed she was attractive, but nobody dared ask her out, or even ask her about her romantic life, because, well, she would either humiliate you by laughing at you, or bite your head off. Of course this was all hypothetical, since nobody had actually done it.
"Butterscotch, what a lovely surprise to see you here!" Eris cooed smiling.
"This is my house..."
"Yes, yes, of course!" She waved a hand dismissively at Scotchand walked into the house without an invitation.
"Please, come in." Butterscotch gestured to the empty space where Eris once stood, and then closed the door.
"Well it's nice to see you, how have you been?" He asked sitting down on a sofa nearby. Eris sat down next to him.
"Oh it's been absolutely awful! Solaris has kicked me out of the castle!!!" Eris stated, slumping her shoulders.
"What?! Why?!" Scotch asked, wide eyed. He had never heard the prince to be cruel, so what could make him remove Eris from the castle?
"He said that I had gone too far! All I tried to do was make him and Prince Artemis breakfast in bead, and accidently burnt the toast! You know I've never been the best cook, I was just trying to do something nice for him!" Eris complained tearfully and very melodramatically, clicking her fingers to produce a spotlight shinning on herself.
"I can't belive the prince would do that! How awful!" Butterscotch scratched his head in bewilderment.
"Yes, I know, isn't it just?" Eris clicked her fingers again and the spotlight vanished.
"So can I stay at your place until he forg- I mean until he lets me back in the castle?" She fluttered her eyelashes innocently.
"Yes, of c-" Butterscotch was inturupted by a fast paced and loud knocking coming from the front door.
"One second..." Scotch walked to the door and gingerly opened it.
Dusk Shine stumbled forwards as he opened the door. He steadyed himself and brushed off his blazer, even though it wasn't dirty.
"Where is she?" Dusk looked wildly around the room before he spotted the shocked looking goddess.
"YOU!" Dusk pointed an accusing finger at her.
"YOU ABSOLUTE BITCH!!!" He shouted at Eris, stomping towards her. Scotch could see Dusk's magic charging up in his horn and knew something bad was going to happen.
"Oh shit..." Eris muttered wide eyed.
"DUSK SHINE!" Butterscotch said sternly, breaking Dusk's focus and so forth breaking the spell from being cast.
"That is no way to treat a friend, especially after going through such a horrible ordeal as Eris! I assume you heard what happened?" Scotch gave Dusk a firm look.
"Heard? I was there! And for what she's done she should be turned to stone again, I'm pretty sure I'm morally obligated to beat the crap out of her!" Dusk turned back to Eris and started channeling his magic again, but then stopped, realising Eris had put up a forcefeild around herself.
"All she did was try to make breakfast..." Butterscotch furrowed his brow in confusion.
"Seriously?! Sh- wait..." Dusk looked at Eris's cocky expression, and then back at Scotch's confused look.
"She hasn't told you yet, has she?" He asked slowly sitting down on the closest seat available.
"She told me that prince Solaris kicked her out of the house for burning breakfast." Scotch said, realising that this was Eris he was talking about, quite literally the opposite of an angel.
"A bit of an understatement! She burnt down a whole section of Canterlot castle!" Dusk gave Eris a cold glare, who in return clicked her fingers and made the forcefeild thicker.
"Well, at least she was trying to good thing, I don't think that wa-"
"The breakfast was poisened."
"Oh..." Butterscotch looked at the floor, a bit shameful of the fact that he had been so gullible. He looked back to Eris who had a sly grin on her face, directed right at Dusk.
"Eris!" He gave the girl a patronising look.
"What? Can't a girl try to take control of Canterlot once in a while?" Eris laughed nervously.
Scotch remained silent.
"They are gods! Immortal ones at that! Even if the poison did kill them, they'd just come back alive again!" Eris threw her hands up to emphasise the 'coming back alive'.
Scotch remained silent.
"The whole fire thing was a mistake, everybody makes mistakes don't they?" Eris clicked her fingers and a halo appeared over her head. Dusk stood up, snatched the halo, and snapped it in half.
"Eris, I don't care about that!" Butterscotch exclaimed exasperatedly.
"DON'T CARE?!" Dusk shouted. Scotch coward for a second before giving him a look that pretty much said 'shut up'.
"What I care about is the fact you lied to me! Tried to take advantage of me! I am very much offended that you don't think I would accept you without you having to lie to my face!" Butterscotch spoke calmly, with a stern tone.
Dusk Shine grinned smugly as Eris had a look of regret and guilt on her face.
"But, but, butte-"
"No buts! You can stay her, but I'm still annoyed with you." Scotch turned back to Dusk Shine.
"You should go see Elusive, he missed you at school."
"Ok, sure, goodbye..." Dusk let himself out.
Butterscotch turned back to the kitchen to get on with feeding Angel.

The next day was a Saturday, and a beautiful one at that too. The sun beamed down warmly on the dew soaked grass of Scotch's garden. Butterflies and bees zipped from one flower to the next, collecting it's sugary nectar. The trees blew calmly in the slight breeze, and
birdsong could be heard.
Butterscotch woke up to the sound of his alarm clock, and went downstairs to feed his pets and water his plants. In the kitchen he found a stack of fresh looking pancakes, with maple syrup dripping down the sides. A note had been placed in front of the stack. It read:
Hope you enjoy, I made them myself, don't worry, not poisoned

Scotch examined the pancakes cautiously. After satisfying himself that they looked regular, he took a knife and fork from the cutlery draw, and cut a chunk out of the stack. He popped it in his mouth, and it tasted delicious.
"Alright Eris, I forgive you!" He laughed to himself.
"Oh thank gods!" Scotch heard a clicking of fingers coming from nowhere and there appeared Eris.
"Right, I'm going back to bed, bye bye!" Eris smiled at him and traipsed back upstairs.
And Butterscotch sat down on a stool and ate the pancakes. They were good. He then accidentally fell off the stool. And that was painful.
