//-------------------------------------------------------// A TR Soldier's Adventures in Magical Horsey Land -by TheTRPony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue As you search around the massive library of the Terran Republic Offshore Training Facility, you find yourself lost in the massive stacks upon stacks of holo disks of information. Still in no sight of your particular goal. "Do you need any help, son?" asked a gruff voice behind you. You turn to see your drill instructor, Gunnery Sergeant R. Woods. "No, sir, I'm just trying to find a specific file on a Staff Sergeant Matt Jones, I'd like to figure out what happened to such a fine man." you say, "But all the files I find on him are heavily guarded." Woods then walks over to the computer terminal you are sitting;Where you pull up a file on the man in question, only to find that it takes a level twenty security card and fifteen different passwords. "Ah, Matt Jones, a fine example of Terran pride. I actually fought with him and the 68th Shock Battalion on the day the Bending happened." proudly stated Woods, though a hint of fear setting in at the word 'Bending'. "Aye sir." you said. Switching off the computer, a hint of sadness setting in your voice, "I just thought I could solve a mystery of an actual M.I.A. A, thing that has not happened since the great war." Woods then saw the sadness in your voice, and slackened his shoulders. "I swear, I'm going to get a court martial for this. But there is something the 68th and Command have kept secret for a long time." said Woods, tensing up. "Something that would mean a change in the fate of humanity forever. Come, follow me." <><><><><><><><><> Terran Republic Offshore Storage Facility And as both of you reach the front entry of the facility, you are greeted with the dual M2 Mutilators of an armored MAX Suit; A powerful armored exoskeleton used on the battlefield by both sides. "State your name, rank, and intention, trespasser!" loudly ordered the MAX, the voice receptor used for communication almost making him sound like a robot. "He's with me, Frank." nonchalantly said Woods, pointing his thumb at you. "I brought him to see the item." "Oh- Wh-why of c-course" stammered Frank at the mention of the item. "Open the door!" shouted Frank upwards, where you see a single Engineer at a console, who pushes several buttons which causes a great moaning from the door. And as the ground shakes, the doors opens with a loud creak. "Thanks, Frank." said Woods, slowly pushing you forward into the building. "And tell the wife I said hi." "Will do, sir." said Frank, using his Lockdown ability to continue his unending guard duty. <><><><><><><><><> After passing several checkpoints, and a few curious Majors, you and Woods finally make it to a small box, small enough to hold several dozen pistols, or a small drone. "Please, sir. We have been walking for over an hour. Can you please tell me what we are doing here?" You asked, curious as to what this long journey had been about. "This." blatantly stated Woods, pushing a few buttons on the side of the rectangular container. And as the container's front panel slowly flipped out, you had expected it to be a great treasure, the preserved head of the original Vanu, or a great ancient weapon. But when it fully opened, the only thing in it was.... a helmet. A standard issue red and black helmet of the Terran Republic, battered, and beaten to near destruction. But as you got closer, you notice it has a strange marking on the back. A mark of a purple star with smaller stars surrounding it. "Wh-what happened to it. Why is it here?" You quickly ask Woods, who just stands there as you unload the question at him. "Calm down there, son." says Woods, walking to the helmet and picking it up, "You know how each helmet of the TR has a video camera built into it?" You then nod to the inquiry. "Well, when a recon team found this helmet in the Indar desert, all of the functions of the helmet were basically destroyed. Except the video camera." says Woods, who connects the helmet to a wire connected to a projector. You then pull up the small container and sit on it, thinking this would be like a movie. "Let's see..Training, no....Defending TR Generals on the front lines, nope." said Woods, scrolling through the different sections of records, "Ah! Here we go, raid on Vanu Project Ark." "Project Ark?" you ask. "Project Ark was a Vanu plan to escape Auraxis. Intelligence had learned of it months before the raid had happened." said Woods, checking over the helmet, "We just thought they weren't a major power before the war. But when the declared their independence and won victory after victory, Command thought it would be best to launch the raid. To see what we could get out of a captured Vanu base." Light then starts to flicker from the projector as the the video begins to play...... <><><><><><><><><> Vanu Project Ark Offshore Facility, Esamir Glaciers, 10:24 PM As darkness settled on the enormous Vanu Facility, a glint of light hit a sniper scope on an ice ridge overlooking the project. "Alright, boys, lets do this." said Major John Tillman to the small group of twenty-four assorted troops behind him. "Sir, yes, sir." said the group, slowly creeping up to the edge of the ridge where they could see the whole base. "On my go, we rush the base." said John, placing his RAM .50 Sniper Rifle on the ridge, "Snipers will cover the rest from the ridge while MAXes be the spear tip;Followed by Heavy Assaults, Medics, and Engineers respectively." "Three.." "Two.." "One.." "GO GO GO!" shouted John, placing a round in a picket's skull, causing those around him to scramble. Suddenly, the icy floor began to rumble with the feet of rushing TR foot soldiers. "For the 68th!" shouted a random Engineer, firing his LC3 Jaguar at a Vanu Infiltrator, sending him toppling to the floor. The Engineer then rushed up a staircase while putting a new magazine into his Jaguar, while soon after slamming it's stock into the head of VS Engineer. Suddenly, a Heavy Assault holding a T16 Rhino ran past him, shoving the Engineer into the wall. "Move it, idiot! I'm the real soldier here!" shouted the Heavy Assault, spraying several rounds into the body of a Medic. "Hey, I have a name thick-head!" shouted back the Engineer "Yeah, and what would this name be, huh?" asked the Heavy Assault mockingly. "It's Matt Jones." said Matt, throwing his Chainblade at a VS MAX's Visor, causing it to crash into a wall, driving the knife further into it's skull, and only seconds later, crumpled to the floor, still bleeding out of it's visor. "Well move it, Matt, we have a job to do." said the Heavy Assault. pushing into a large room filled with computers and storage containers. "I'm out! Cover me!" shouted the Heavy, hiding behind a terminal as he put in a new drum into his LMG. Matt then did just that, and fires several bursts into a group of five Infiltrators, causing them to fall to the floor, blood seeping from several wounds. But the next five seconds seemed to slow down to almost a complete stop. For before one of the Infiltrators died, he tried to throw a grenade, but slipped out of his hand as he went down. The grenade then bounced around the room as it finally landed next to an Auraxium examination table, causing a gigantic explosion from the amount of Auraxium next to it. "Run!" shouted Matt, rushing to a nearby door, only to turn around and see the Heavy Assault get consumed by flames. But before the flames reached him, he managed to force his way into the room, only to be met with two men in lab coats. <><><><><><><><><> As the two scientists were busy deleting all files on the Ark Project, they heard the sound of banging on the door. "What th-" said one of the scientists, but was interrupted when the door gave way, revealing a TR Engineer to the pair. "You two, hands in the air!" shouted Matt, pointing his Jaguar at the pair, who quickly followed his instructions. "Now face the wa-" said Matt, but cut off when he saw what was on the other side of a glass panel in front of a pair of terminals. "What. The fuck. Is that?" asked Matt, lowering his weapon and walking towards the object in question. The object, was a small rectangular portal, with weird metal glistening rainbows surrounding it. "What. The fuck. Is that!" exasperated Matt, staring at the portal with wide eyes. The first scientist to speak up was a tall, Caucasian male, with blue eyes, with a pair of glasses. "Y-you see, sir. That is a strange construct that we excavated when we built this place." said the scientist, walking towards Matt, hands still up. "We did not think much of it at the start. We sent in a recon team, but they never reported back." But before Matt could respond, multiple footsteps were heard outside. "Fuck." muttered Matt, aiming his Jaguar at the blown down door. "You two pretty lucky, your buddies are here to see you." said Matt, looking at the pair, "Well, I hate to shoot and run, but..." The room the echoed with the sound of gunfire and falling bodies as the squad of Spec Ops Vanu neared the door. "Fire Team Alpha, move in." ordered a VS Light Assault, tossing an Smoke Grenade into the room. But as Alpha Fire Team moved in, they were only greeted with the sight of a TR Engineer breaking through the protective wall of glass and nearing the portal. "No, stop!" shouted one of the Vanu, only to be held back by his fellow people of Vanu. "See yah later, Shitlords!" shouted Matt, before jumping into the portal. <><><><><><><><><> "..With the marks of our destiny made one, there is magic without end." triumphantly stated Twilight Sparkle as she jotted the final note on Starswirl the Bearded's secret unfinished masterpiece. And as she put the book down, a blast of magic erupted from Element of Magic that was on her head, causing her friends to get blasted back slightly by the wave. But then, a powerful ray of magic erupted from each of her friends hit Twilight, each element having their own color identical to their respective element. And as the beams enveloped Twilight, she closed her eyes, realizing her fate. But when a single tear slid down her face, a bright white light blasted out of the library. Nearly blinding anybody who stared directly into it. "Wh-what happened?" asked Fluttershy from behind her hoof. The room the filled with screams and cries of disbelief as the five ponies stared where their friend was supposed to be located. "Where 'd she go!?" cried Applejack, a face of pure surprise on her face. And after a few seconds of a disbelieving outburst from Rainbow Dash, a bright light shining like a star outside caught the Mane 5 and Spike's attention, driving them outside. But when they got out there, they saw no light, only the falling figure of a strange creature. "What the?" asked Pinkie Pie, mouth nearly reaching the floor. And as the creature got closer to the ground, the ponies noticed that it was heading right for them! "Hit the deck!" shouted Rainbow Dash, blasting towards the nearest cloud. The rest of the ponies and the dragon did the same, finding cover behind random objects from trees to barrels. But, as it neared the ground, the ponies could hear it say.. actual words come from it. "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-" screamed the creature, but was cut off as it slammed into the earth, causing dust to fly in different directions. "What th' hay is that thing?" asked Applejack, emerging from behind the sign of the library. As the rest of the Mane 5 emerged from their own hiding spots, they began to hear the sounds of moaning and groaning from the creature that was indented into the earth. "Hey, buddy, you all right?" asked Spike, staring over the body of the creature, the rest soon joining him in looking over the new arrival. "W-what the fuck?" asked/groaned the creature. "Do. You. Speak. Equestrian?" asked Pinkie Pie very slowly to the creature, but was only greeted by more groaning. "I think this poor fella's hurt." said Applejack, placing her signature stetson on her chest. "N-no, jackass. My armor's self-repairing system is just healing my body." said the creature, grabbing his strange stick to balance himself. "It speaks Equestrian! " screamed Pinkie, her mane standing basically standing upright at the shock. But instead of responding to the comment, the creature began to walk away, using the strange stick as a cane. "Hey!" shouted Rainbow Dash, speeding up to chase after the strange arrival, "You can't just walk away!" "And what's stopping me?" asked the creature over his shoulder, continuing his walk. But before Rainbow Dash could retort, another bright light shone over the star. But this time it was a sight each of the ponies knew. The cutie mark of their friend: Twilight Sparkle. But unfamiliar to the human. "Sweet Celestia.." muttered Applejack, eyes wide at the familiar sight. And as the star descended to the ground, it took the shape of Twilight herself. Except it she had a new appendage: A pair of wings. "Twilight, is that you?" asked Applejack, shielding herself from the rays of light. And as the light finally faded from view. Twilight proudly stood up, her wing rising into Luna's bright night sky. The ponies then gasped at the sight of their friend's new wings. 'Ah, ah've never seen anything like it." muttered Applejack, following the rest of her friends over to Twilight to greet their friend back. "Alright! A new flying buddy!" shouted Rainbow Dash, investigating Twilight's wings with ultra speed. "Why, you're an Alicorn, darling!" squealed Rarity, "I didn't even know that was possible." "Um, Twilight?" meekly asked Fluttershy, standing over the now unconscious human. "Wohoo! Alicorn Party!" shouted Pinkie, gliding in of a pair of cardboard wings and horn while being hung from on of the library's tree branches. "T-Twilight?" asked Fluttershy yet again, pushing her hoof against the unconscious body of the human. "Wah, you even look like ah princess." said Applejack, but was turned away as yet another light shone from the sky. "That's because she is." said the God-like form of Princess Celestia, descending on the group. "Huh?" asked everypony, save Pinkie pie. "Hold on a second." said Pinkie Pie, grabbing a glass of water from a nearby trough, drinking it, and immediately spitting it out. "A-a prin-" asked Twilight sadly, but was cut off when a robotic voice from the human's helmet making a weird beeping noise. "Nanite Auto-repair Complete, please standby for subject awakening." said the voice in a near digitized voice, the only normal aspect being the fact that it spoke in a womanly tone. "What in Celestia's name is that!?" screamed Twilight, quickly turning around to see Celestia herself standing behind her, eyebrow raised. "Sorry." said Twilight, slightly blushing. "It's okay, Princess Twilight." said Celestia, a half smile taking shape. But then, the human's body started to rise, fully capable after the few minutes of self-repair. "W-where the hell am I?" asked the human, staring at his surroundings. The first pony to speak was Celestia, who walked and had the look of an experienced diplomat. "Hello there, I am Princess Celestia of the Sovereignty of Equestria, and I would like to welcome you to Ponyville, one of our most humble places of hospitality." said Celestia, an aura of formality and grace surrounding her. "And may I ask who you are?" "Well, considering I'm in a place that looks like it was made for kids, I'm just going to assume you're peaceful." groggily stated the human, getting no response from Celestia, but a mild shrug from a flying pony, something he definitely found interesting. "Very well, I am Staff Sergeant Matt Jones of the 68th Terran Republic Shock Troops. And a proud citizen of the Terran Republic, and tell me, could one of you catch me in few seconds? I've had a really long day and I thi-" Suddenly, Matt fell to the floor asleep, snoring so loud that I caused the light in one of the houses to turn on. "Ugh, lets get him to guest bedroom." groaned Twilight, picking up Matt by the shoulders with her magic and pulling him towards the library. Suddenly, Rainbow Dash flew in front of Twilight. "So, who do you thing this is, Twi?" "I don't know Rainbow, I've never seen anything like this before. Not even in the books of old in the Canterlot Library." said Twilight, stopping for a second to think. Placing a hoof to her chin. "The only thing I've ever seen that would come close to this creature, would probably be the Diamond Dogs, but we've all seen how they are." "Well, whoever this might be. I entrust in your care." gracefully said Princess Celestia, unfurling her wings into the sky, causing for wide eyes to stare at her. "I must leave for Canterlot to prepare for Twilight's coronation." The Sun Goddess the flew into the air, wings shining in the night sky. Flying towards in bustling city of Canterlot. <><><><><><><><><> As Twilight, Spike, and the rest of the ponies entered through the bedroom door, they were greeted with a small room, big enough to house two ponies. On the far side there was a single window providing a large view of Ponyville. In the center was a small bed, with bedside tables accompanying both sides. And a small dresser in front of the bed. And as Twilight placed Matt on the bed, she noticed he was holding a long stick that had not left his grasp since he fell asleep. "I wonder what it's purpose is?", thought Twilight, searching over the stick to see if it had anything on it that would better explain it's function. and as she studied the stick, she noticed a small trigger where Matt's hand once was. "Maybe this activates it." But to the surprise of the ponies in the room, before Twilight could pull the trigger, a red and black armored hand reached out and grabbed the stick, making Twilight's magical aura to disperse from around it. "The first rule of the Terran Republic 68th Shock Troops, never touch another man's gun." said Matt, sitting up from the bed, pulling out a cigar and lighter, lit the cigar, and took a long inhale and exhale from the brown stick. Matt then sat on the floor and stared at the group of ponies eyeing him curiously."And I believe we have a lot of basics to cover." <><><><><><><><><> Matt P.O.V. Aliens, that's something we had been told what the Vanu were fighting for. Some thought it was for technology. Others thought it was because of the experiments that we prohibited that they were using. Well, if they were fighting for aliens, I've might have just met them. Horses, that's what I was greeted by when I came here. Miniature horses with weird butt tattoos, but what was really weird was that some were flying, and some were using some strange form of technology to levitate things, mainly me. One even had both. They may not be the aliens we have had described to us by Vanu prisoners. But at least I am not alone in this world. The scientist spoke of a unit that went to do reconnaissance here. So maybe my job as a soldier is not completely useless here. My name is Matt Jones. I'm a Staff Sergeant in the Terran Republic 68th Shock Regiment. And I'm in some crazy Horse Land with no end in sight. It is my job to find my way back to Auraxis, and fight for Duty, for Honor, for Loyalty Unto Death. Author's Note So, I thought it would be best to create a story not set in PS2, but eventually I went back to this. But I guess that means I now have two stories on my plate. Ideas and criticism are welcome. I feel as if I have gotten better since Equestriaside, but I just may be talking out of my ass! Anyway, I thought it would be best to see what it would be like to do a fic as a TR, considering that is where I began in PS2. And I plan on seeing were we are going with this... https://img.youtube.com/vi/87obnKnpIds/mqdefault.jpg Interrogation next chapter:pinkiecrazy: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiecrazy.png //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Everything is (Possibly) Going to be Just Fine! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Everything is (Possibly) Going to be Just Fine! Golden Oaks Library, Equestria, 10:56 PM The first one to speak up was Twilight, who bombarded Matt with questions without end. "Whereareyoufrom?Howdidyougethere?Whatspeciesareyou?Whatarethosethingsattheendsofyourarms?Doyouplantoinva-" Quickly, Matt's index finger pushed against Twilight's lips, effectively quieting the new alicorn. "Speak, slowly." said Matt, slowly, taking his finger from Twilight's lips, "Now, what would you like to know?" "Hmm," said Twilight, placing a hoof to her chin, "What are you?" Matt then stood up, and rubbed the cigar into his shoulder pad, leaving a dark black mark on the once grey armor. "I am a human, homo-sapien if you want to get scientific." said Matt, dropping the doused cigar on the wooden floor with a soft *thunk*, "My race comes from Earth, but we eventually settled on Auraxis; a lush, bountiful world with beauty beyond compare." "It sounds wonderful." said Twilight, smiling at the thought of said planet, "But why are you here?" Matt then stood up, and walked over to the window next to the bed. "You know, I have no idea, we were just doing a standard raid against insurgents. But they had this weird portal, something you would expect in a badly written story. And I was alone, no one around me. And with a squad preparing to rush me, I had no choice but to go through the portal. And so I'm here. But what I want to know, who are you?" "Well, I am Twilight Sparkle," said Twilight, then turning to the rest of the mane six and outstretched a hoof to Pinkie Pie, "that's Pinkie Pie." "Hi!" Twilight then moved to hoof the point towards Rarity, "That's Rarity." "It's a pleasure, darling." Then to Applejack, "That's Applejack." "Howdy!" To Fluttershy, "That's Fluttershy." "Hello." And finally to Rainbow Dash, "And that's Rainbow Dash." "'Sup?" "Um, hello." said Matt wearily. "Say, is it possible I could crash here for a while while Elise does a scan of the area to find any form of human life out here?" "Who's Elise?" asked Twilight, raising an eyebrow. Matt then smirked at the question, "Oh, Elise, we have someone who wants to meet you." said Matt to no one in particular. Suddenly, the gauntlet on Matt's right arm shone a bright red, earning the attention of everypony's eyes. Then, a small humanoid-like being appeared out of the gauntlet; The being itself feminine in appearance, with a bright red hue almost engulfing it. "Everyone, I would like you to meet Elise, my Artificial Intelligence that I helped design to suit my combat needs." said Matt proudly. "Hello everybody," said Elise, waving to the group of ponies, "I am Elise, a prototype A.I. that Matt was designing for the Terran Republic Army. I am a 'Strong' Artificial Intelligence. Meaning I can learn, adapt, and do many things a regular person can. Matt and a small group wanted to design me to help our operatives in the field an edge in combat. Matt himself wanted to try out me as the prototype, and was supposed to present it to Terran Republic Command, but now we are here." "Wow!" exclaimed Twilight in astonishment, "And actual Artificial Intelligence! The scientific community has just thought of it as a theory, but you've done something that would take decades just to create a basic prototype!" "Yeah, well, she's just a prototype, so, this is fairly new for us as well." said Matt, grinning at Twilight's interest in technology, "Which reminds me, Elise, could you run a scan of the area, see if you can find any human life." "Right away, Matt." said Elise, disappearing inside Matt's right gauntlet, the helmet itself starting to glow a bright red and emitting a beep once every few seconds The room then became as quiet as a mouse, the only sounds being made were the beeps from Matt's right gauntlet with Elise running the scan, and the occasional hoof/foot shifting. Finally, it was Twilight that broke the silence. "So, you designed Elise?" "Well, not exactly." said Matt awkwardly, "You see, our side was being pushed in on all sides, with the funding of the New Conglomerate and the advanced technology of the Vanu pushing down on us. My regiment was assigned to create a new device that was capable of saving lives, and destroying enemy ones. We eventually created Elise over here." Matt then tapped on his glowing helmet. "She was actually named after her donor, Elise Maxton. We spent months perfecting her, and eventually she was matched with a partner for field testing, which so happened to be me. We were actually supposed to go to Terran Command to present her after the raid. But I guess the universe thought otherwise. Suddenly, Elise popped out of Matt's helmet, causing the ponies to jump in shock. "Oh, hello." said Elise, surveying the ponies, "Anyway, I've finished the scan, and it seems there is no Terran Republic signals...or human life." Elise said, slowing down when she started to see Matt's facial expression. "T-thank you Elise. Y-you can l-log off for now." said Matt, trying his best to keep his voice from breaking up. "Goodnight, Matt." said Elise, jumping inside Matt's gauntlet once more. Matt then walked over to his bed, threw his LC3 Jaguar on the floor, and sat in the fetal position on the bed, wrapping the blankets over him in a cocoon-like shell. 'Well...goodnight." said Twilight, shutting off the bedside table's lamp with a flick of her magic. "Come on girls, I think we all deserve a good night's rest after all that has happened today." But as Twilight and the rest if the Mane 6 left the room, a certain yellow Pegasus stayed behind. "Um...Matt?" meekly asked Fluttershy, nearing closer to the small bed with steps as quiet as a mouse. "Ugh, go away." "Listen, I know what it's like to be surrounded by ponies you're not used too," said Fluttershy, standing next to the bed as Matt grunted at the statement, "I was all by myself when I moved to Ponyville, my friend, Rainbow Dash was too busy trying to become a Wonderbolt to spend time with me. But then, some ponies eventually came to visit, and I got to enjoy being here. It's not that bad when you get to know it." "I said, go away." mumbled Matt again, tightening the covers around him. "Look, I'm not going to force you to like your stay here. But if you don't want to be happy, that's your choice." said Fluttershy, walking out of the door, "Goodbye, Matt." Fluttershy then closed the door, leaving Matt to himself, and out of all the things he could have thought about there was one thing on his mind.... Auraxis <><><><><><><><><> The bottom floor of the library was buzzing with questions and comments about Matt. Each mind of everypony was filling to the brim with questions. And sadly, no answers. "Honestly, darling. I can't believe those rags his military has him wear." said Rarity to Applejack, "I swear, the next chance I get, I'm going to offer to make him a whole new wardrobe as a sign of goodwill." "Now hold on a sec' Rarity." said Applejack, full of doubt, " Matt maight not want new 'fancy shmancy' clothin'. Besides, ah' reckon he won't need it in his line of work. Did ya see that fall he took? Ah don't think one of you suits would have survived that." "Oh please, Applejack." retorted Rarity scornfully. " I use only use the toughest quality thread for my clothing. And it very well could take that fall. Do you remember the dresses we used for the Galla? Even after everything that happened, it only took some simple stitches to fix them." "And yet you won't let them near mah farm." said Applejack with a smirk. "Well, just because I make them durable, doesn't mean I want them being splashed with mud and grime. Does it?" replied Rarity, walking quickly away, head held high. To avoid Applejack making another comeback. But while Rarity's and Applejack's discussion was about fashion choice, Rainbow's and Twilight's were about trust. "...I mean, he falls from the sky, and immediately trusts us?" questioned Rainbow, hovering just above Twilight so she could maneuver her hooves. "I mean, who does that?" "Well, I do admit that is a bit strange." said Twilight thoughtfully, "But think about it; He's been sent from a distant world with no idea where he is, and there is none of his kind that I've seen before. So it would make sense to try and be friendly us, considering we seem peaceful and kind." "Yeah, well. You do your egg-head rationalization." said Rainbow, crossing her front hoves while in flight, "But my gut tells me that there is some freaky stuff about him." Suddenly, Pinkie Pie ran straight in between the Alicorn and Pegasus, seeming to shake with energy. "Yeah, well, we all have secrets, isn't that right, Dashie? And that's what makes friendships fun!" said Pinkie, almost shacking with excitement because of the new arrival, "And what could even be funner is when I get to throw him his 'Welcome to Ponyville' party. And not only that, but I get to throw his 'Welcome to Equestria' party at the same time! So it will be double the fun! Do you think he likes cupcakes?" Then, the familiar Element of Kindness emerged from Matt's room. "Hey 'Shy!" said Rainbow, flying over to Fluttershy to greeter her fellow Pegasus/friend. But slowed down as she got nearer to Fluttershy. "Say, why did you stay behind? I thought out of all ponies, you would be out first....No offense." "It's alright, I was just wanting to tell Matt something." said Fluttershy, her meek voice seeming to have it's own peaceful aura. "I just wanted to make him feel more welcome." <><><><><><><><><> A single rooster crowed over Ponyville as Celestia's sun came over the horizon. It's light showing the true beauty of Equestria's countryside. With a few light rays flowing into Matt's room, splashing across his face. Suddenly, a large buzzing began to sound in Matt's helmet, causing his head to shake in the process. "Gaah!" shouted Matt, bolting upright, Jaguar in hand, aiming it in all directions. "Oh," said Matt, setting down his carbine and hitting a button on the side of his helmet, effectively turning off the buzzing, "And to think it was a dream." Matt then picked up his carbine and left his room, beginning his trip downstairs, walking to the base of the house. But the first thing Matt noticed when he made his way downstairs, was the fact it had shelves upon shelves of books. Curious, Matt picked one up and opened it, and old leather-red book, with yellow pages worn from age. Surprisingly, the literature was actually in English. "A Traveler's Guide to Equestria?" thought Matt, flipping through the book to see entire paragraphs of words filled to the brim with information on his new environment. But then, a weird smell made it's way to Matt's nose, but not the smell of gunpowder, blood, or burning flesh, but the smell of....food. And not the regular MRE's that was served in the Mess Halls, actual food that did not come in a tube, or plastic wrapping layered in preservatives and artificial flavoring. Matt then placed the book in his standard issue Engineer knapsack, and gradually made his way to the smell. Passing several stacks of books, scrolls, and statue of a horse head along the way. And as Matt finally made his way to the origins of the smell, he was greeted with the sight of a scaly, purple and green reptile wearing a pink apron; cooking pancakes. The room itself was relatively small, holding a single refrigerator, a stove/oven, a sink, and several cupboards. "Hey there, weird, lizard..thing." said Matt, waving his hand at the reptile. The reptile then turned around, bits of pancake batter plastered across the apron, and holding a spatula "I'll have you know," said the reptile, pointing the spatula at him like a spear, "That I am a ferocious, fire breathing, dragon!" "That's wearing an apron." said Matt, pointing at the the laced kitchen protection-ware. "Hey! Do you have any idea how hard it is too get rid of batter from scales!" retorted the dragon, cheeks bright red. Matt then got in the dragon's face, to the point of where his nose was scrunched up. "No." said Matt, slowly backing away, " And to be fair, I've never seen a talking lizard before." "Well I've never seen a hairless ape before." said the dragon, smirking at the retort. "Touche," said Matt, looking around the room. "So, wheres Twilert Sprinkle, or whatever the heck her name is?" "You mean Twilight?" said the dragon, placing several cooked pancakes on a tray, "She and the rest of the girls went to Canterlot for her coronation." Matt then walked over to the tray of pancakes, quickly inspected it, and plopped one of the cooked batter circles in his mouth. Slowly chewing to elongate the taste of it. "So, coronation, huh?" asked Matt, through a stuffed face. The dragon then took off the apron and placed it in the sink, while simultaneously turning two valves to let water flow into the small basin. "Yeah, Twilight became a princess last night, and they are having a huge coronation ceremony to commemorate it. They decided to have me stay here to look after you." "What do you mean look after me?" asked Matt inquisitively, finally swallowing the pancake,"I am a soldier from another world, I don't need to be babysat." The purple and green dragon then walked past Matt, and began to sort through books in the main section of the house. "She thought you would just go on a rampage if you woke up and found nopony here. Besides, I'm not one for stuffy events like that." "Why?" asked Matt. "Well, the last time I went to one of those events, it was ruined by an army of shape-shifting bugs." said Spike, receiving only a curious glance from Matt. "Huh," said Matt, regaining his composure and finding a seat on the floor and starting to read the book he had picked up from earlier, " So, do you have a name, exactly? Or does this world's law forbid it?" The dragon then turned around, eyes wide at the accusation, " Um, No, but if you wanted my name, it's Spike." Matt then flipped another page on the book, all the while not looking up from it. "Huh, well that's....original. So, when do you think purple horse will be back?" Spike all the while, had not stopped sorting books since he started. But he finally decided to stop sorting, and walk over to Matt. "Well, I saw the girls leave a couple of hours ago, so they should be back in a little bit. Say, what are you reading?" "Oh nothing, " said Matt, folding a small bit of the page into a make-do bookmark. "Just a little information on your world." Suddenly, a loud crash came from upstairs, shaking the house from top to bottom. Even a couple of books fell from their shelves. Then, quick as as a flash, Matt placed his Jaguar in a holster on his knapsack and whipped out his TX2, aiming it upstairs. "Spike, stay here, I'll go check and see what's going on." <><><><><><><><><> Equestria's Skies, 500 Meters from Golden Oaks Library, Equestria Twilight's takeoff at started as planned, she had planned on finishing the coronation, and to fly towards Ponyville to check up on Matt. But she had not taken into account the fact that she was new to flying, and the closest she had ever gotten to it was in the Royal Guard's sky chariots. But as she got closer to the library, Twilight noticed that she was going out of control, and was spiraling towards her bedroom window! "Aaaah!" screamed Twilight as she finally touched (More like crashed) down through the bedroom's (thankfully) open window. Sending a couple of books scattered across the floor. Uh," moaned Twilight, rubbing her head from the crash. And after a few seconds of stretching out her wings from flying such a long distance, she finally noticed the mess she had caused when she crashed, and began to pick up the mess with her magic. Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps came from the other side of the door, causing Twilight to quickly finish placing the books back on the shelves and see who was coming up. But before she could even reach the first step down, she was greeted with the sight of Matt and one of his mysterious weapons; pointed right at her! But, as soon as Matt saw Twilight, he put the weapon down. "Seriously? You nearly got yourself killed!" shouted Matt, "Fucking civvies." Muttering the last bit to himself This sudden outburst saddened Twilight, causing her to lower her head. But Matt, seeing this, regained his composure, and knelt next the Twilight. "Sorry, kid. It's just that, well, I've had people die because of me before, and it's not a good feeling. Every single person, whether they get re-birthed or not, leaves a scar. And by now, I'm just a giant gash in a suit." sadly said Matt, lowering his head, tears forming, "I've seen cities burn, entire families murdered, and even entire armies, destroyed in the blink of an eye." Twilight then lifted her head, trying to meet Matt's eyes. "And you know whats worse?" asked Matt, trying his best to not choke up, "Is the fact that I had family back on Auraxis, friends, comrades in arms. And they probably think I'm captured, or I got stuck in the re-birthing process." Twilight's mouth was left partly agape as to what Matt had just said. And pure shock filled her mind because of Matt had described, and what else he probably has experienced. "I-i'm sorry," said Twilight, putting her left hoof on Matt's left shoulder. "I'm sorry you have been through so much." "It doesn't matter anymore, " said Matt solemnly, "To my unit, my country, I'm dead." Matt then stood up, and walked to the window next Twilight's bed. And just stared out of it, eyeing all the ponies go about their day, talking, shopping, and even playing. "Your world, it's so different, so peaceful." said Matt, turning his head slightly to the left to partially face Twilight, "Something Auraxis could never be. And maybe, just maybe, this is some divine entities' way of giving me another chance. So, the question is: What am I going to do with it?" Twilight then sat up, and trotted over to Matt, trying to keep a decent composure, "Equestria's a place of second chances Matt, my friends and I, we've been able to make even to most evil of creatures see good. And I'm sure you are no exception." she said, a mixture of emotions filling her, feelings of compassion, pity, and a bundle of others. "Yeah, I guess." said Matt, putting his hands on the window sill. "But where do I begin?" "You could start by being friends with us." suggested Twilight, outstretching her hoof to Matt. Matt then turned to face Twilight, who in turn stretched out a big smile, "It's a deal then." said Matt, grabbing the hoof and shaking it slowly. Suddenly, a loud knock came from the from door, causing Mat to stop the handshake and walk to the door. "Who is it?" "The ginger bread pony." said a voice. Causing Matt to just stare. "......Really?" "No, it's me, Rainbow. Now let me talk to Twilight." said Rainbow Dash. Making Matt open the door, letting the rainbow-maned Pegasus donned in her coronation attire walk in. "What's up Rainbow?' asked Twilight, walking towards her friend. "So, yeah, the princesses want to talk with Matt on the current situation." said Rainbow Dash, rubbing the back of her head with her right hoof. "I really didn't pay attention to the details, but they sent me here to tell you. Also, you might want to take off those coronation clothes, they make you look like a walking fashion show." "Oh. right." said Twilight sheepishly, lighting up her horn to levitate the eloquent clothing article off of her, and on to one of the Library's bookshelves. "I'm sure Rarity will want this back." "So, wait. What do you mean by 'Princesses'? I only met one." said Matt. "Well, you met Princess Celestia, she is the older of the two sisters. Then there is Luna, the younger of the two. And finally, there is Princess Cadence. She rules over the Crystal Empire with my brother." stated Twilight proudly. "They all rule Equestria equally, and do their best to maintain peace." 'Wow," said Matt in awe, "That....actually sounds pretty badass." But now it was Rainbow Dash's turn to butt in. "Yeah, well, we have these awesome things called the Elements of Harmony that shoot cool lasers that look like rainbows and can do almost everything!" she said excitedly. "Actually, Rainbow," interjected Twilight in an annoyed tone, "The Elements of Harmony use the magical talents of it's user to focus it into a beam based on which element of friendship they are. Like how I'm magic, and Rainbow here is loyalty." "So, you save the world with rainbows?" asked Matt sarcastically. "Well, it's more complicated than that. I've still not been able to unlock the hidden potential they might hold." said Twilight, pacing around Matt, "But, yeah, we....Uh, save the world with rainbows." Suddenly, the sound of a loud burp and a gust of fire came from the kitchen, soon followed by Spike rushing towards Twilight. "Twilight!" said Spike, rushing towards Twilight with a paper scroll. That Twilight soon picked up with her magic, and opened. Twilight then skimmed quickly through the scroll before giving it back to Spike. Who walked off with the scroll back to the kitchen. "So, what was that about?" asked Matt.Matt "Oh, nothing." said Twilight, calmly, " It was just Princess Celestia wanting to let us know that Rainbow Dash was coming to see how we are doing with Matt. And that she has sent a sky chariot to pick us up outside Ponyville." "And yet another pony who underestimates my awesome flying ability." said Rainbow in a brash manner. "Now wait a second." said Matt, ignoring Rainbow's comment. " If we just want to go to Princess Celestia, then why are we being all secretive about it?" "Well, the last time everypony saw somepony not familiar to them, the entire town went into hiding out of fear." said Twilight, for she realized the town might react the same-or worse- way with Matt as they had with Zecora. "Well, I guess that makes sense.." said Matt haltingly. "So, when can we go?" "Well, we could go right now." said Twilight, "If your ready, that is." "Well, I pack light. If that helps." said Matt, "So, how are we getting there?" "Teleport." "What!?" shouted Matt, his voice full of disbelief in what he just heart. "You didn't tell me you had teleport!" Twilight only blushed at the comment. "Thank you, Matt. I've been trying to master it ever since I accidentally teleported a few inches while trying to levitate a few books when I was a filly. And I believe I could try and teleport us to the outskirts of Ponyville, where we will meet up with a sky chariot that Princess Celestia said she sent in the letter." "Woa, whoa, wait a sec." interrupted Matt, " What do you mean you 'teleported yourself'? Are you telling me that you can manipulate the fields of space and time?!" "Well, yes." said Twilight, feeling better knowing she had impressed an advanced alien twice in a row. "Not most unicorns can use magic in the way I can. It takes a lot of studying and practice. but most of all, it takes-" "Okay, now I know you are just fucking with me." interrupted Matt once again, "Now, I know I may not be the cleanest gun in the armory. But there is no way that it is just, 'magic'. It has to be some form of energy, or magnets. It could even be a type of laser for all I care. But your species decides to go with, magic. I swear, next thing you'll tell me is that Rainbow-Face over here can manipulate the weather." But all Mat got out of his little rant was Rainbow falling on the floor laughing. And even Twilight was trying not to laugh. Leaving Matt with a flabbergasted mind. And it was finally a few minutes before the two ponies had returned to their former selves. "Now wait a sec', Twi'," said Rainbow cautiously Coming to realization of danger to her friend"I know you are a powerful pony and all, but I don't think that you can teleport us all that far." Twilight then placed her hoof on her chin in contemplation; for she too did not know if she could be able to teleport them all out of town. But suddenly, Matt's gauntlet started glowing again. With Elise emerging from it soon after. "I believe I may have the answer." said Elise, receiving surprised looks from Rainbow and Twilight. even Matt had a look of confusion plastered on his face. "What do you mean?" asked Matt. "Well, while you three were conversing, I was able to take a bio-scan of Twilight, and I believe I can transfer some of my power to match her's. Thus giving Twilight the boost she needs." explained Elise, her cortex itself running through various outcomes and variables to look out for. "But it does have a chance of Twilight exploding. Though it's very small." Elise then added a small smile to have an effect of innocence. "I don't know, what do you think?" asked Matt to Twilight. Fearing to have to clean up horse guts off of the walls. "I don't know." said Twilight. for she too had a fear of becoming pink mist. "What are the odds of me exploding?" "About 13,245,632,355 to one." said Elise quickly. "....Say what now?" asked Rainbow, trying to wrap her head around the large number. "She means it's virtually impossible." said Twilight, "And I believe I will take it." Twilight's horn then began to glow it's familiar lavender glow. With various sparks of electricity circling around it. Then, Elise's then went inside of Twilight's horn, causing it to turn a burgundy-like color, with even more sparks of electricity starting to emerge, and a few even hitting the floor. Suddenly, a bright light exploded out of Twilight's horn, enveloping the room. Causing Matt to shield his eyes, while Rainbow just donned a pair of shades. And with a flash of light, the group vanished from the library, only leaving behind an occasional spark in the air. But then, Spike emerged from the kitchen, holding a giant stack of pancakes, covered in syrup and a slice of butter on top. "Hey Twilight, I made breakfast." said Spike, seeing the vacant area where the three had been moments earlier. Spike then looked at the stack of pancakes in his arms, seeing his hard work go to waste. "Oh come on!" <><><><><><><><><> Location: Unknown, Equestria All was quiet in the forested area, the birds were chirping. Small animals played in the grass, and deer raced around in the trees. But with a bright flash, the forest's sound nearly stopped as the bright light dispersed to reveal Rainbow, Matt, and Twilight standing in a small field of grass. But instead of everything to start back again in the forest, all the animals just stared as the group tried to get their wits about them as the checked their surroundings. "Hey, where are we?" asked Matt, hoping that one of his pony companions would have an answer. "Uh," said Rainbow, looking around at the trees and grass. "I don't think I've seen this place before." Suddenly, the two heard a loud *plop* from behind them, which revealed to be Twilight, passed out cold in the grass; Her horn glowing a bright red from heat. "Twilight!" shouted Rainbow, rushing to her downed friend. "Hey, Matt! Get that A.I. of yours to run a bio-whatchamacallit." "Sure." said Matt indifferently, "Hey, Elise, run a medical diagnostic on Twilight, see if there is anything wrong with her. And try and scan to see where we are." "Already done," said Elise, emerging from Twilight, "She just became too tired after the teleport, and just fell asleep. Where we are? Well, by compiling images from Twilight's mind, and using the built in GPS in your helmet. I have determined we are in an area of this, 'Everfree Forest'. "Did you say the 'Everfree Forest'!" screamed Rainbow, looking up from her fallen friend. "Um, yes." said Elise, "Is there a problem?" "A problem? Of course there's a problem!" said Rainbow, exasperated at the current situation. "The Everfree Forest is home to some of the most deadly creatures in Equestria!" "Oh, so that's why I'm seeing several pairs of green eyes." said Matt, who did, indeed, see numerous pairs of eyes of green in the greenery. Suddenly, a foul stench seemed to blanket the forest, driving off any other creatures that had stayed after the group arrived. And soon, the eyes in the forest grew closer to the three, enormous growls filling the air. The eyes then made it to the clearing, to reveal the creatures to be made of wood, made in the shape of a large dog. "Um, Rainbow, please tell me these are some of the, 'Not so evil' creatures of the Everfree." said Matt, pulling out his Jaguar and aiming it at one of the wooden monsters. "Oh, bucking horse apples." Author's Note Well, turns out this story is not dead! Yeah, sorry about the wait guys and gals, I've just got a lot on my plate, and this, honestly, is not my #1 priority. Does that mean I will one day abandon this fic? Probably not, but it's not going to come out like a speeding bullet every day. And on a side note: This is why Matt is all badass. It's all an A.I.! Technological Macguffin for the win! Also, the part with Spike staying at the library is why I thank God for the Alternate Universe tag. Matt's Armor: Helmet:Default Armor: Composite Armor Default Camo Matt's Loadout: LC3 Jaguar with Foreward Grip TX2 Emperor Claymore X2 Ripper Knife, because bad asses always carry more than one knife. And of course the ammo box. Ya can't be a fungineer without some rounds! And more will be added as the story progresses. Hold onto your anus! Question of the chapter: What TR or NS weapon would you like to replace Matt's Jaguar? And on a final note: No pony x human shipping is to be involved in this story, but if people are going to make fan art out of this, I won't stop you. I'm just here to write. And now a Public Service Announcement from the Terran Republic Military News Network: https://img.youtube.com/vi/pmDnfBVNcHY/mqdefault.jpg //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Get to ze Chariot! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Get to ze Chariot! Everfree Forest, Equestria "We are screwed, aren't we?" asked Matt, pulling out his LC3 Jaguar and aiming it at the closest Timberwolf, fearful of when they might attack. "Well, with me, you have a 20% higher chance of living." said Rainbow Dash, putting up her front hooves in a boxer-like fashion. But she herself was having doubts about the current situation. Suddenly, a large, moss-covered Timberwolf lunged at Rainbow, resulting in a spray of 9mm bullets from Matt's Jaguar colliding with it mid-air. Sending the wooden behemoth to the ground, green blood leaking out of several wounds. And seeing one of their brethren fall, the entire group looked to Matt, teeth clenched and mouth snarling. And with a few claws at the group, the pack charged. "Rainbow, get back and take care of Twilight!" shouted Matt, spraying several rounds into the horde. "I've got this!" Rainbow then rushed to Twilight and grabbed her coat, and tarted to pull her towards a large rock next to a group of trees. While Matt unloaded his Jaguar on the Timberwolves, sending several chunks of bark into the air, but not having any real effect on the wolves themselves. Matt then pulled out the used magazine, letting the plastic container drop to the ground, while Matt just pulled a new magazine from his ammunition belt. He then put the mag into the receiver and pulled back the bolt handle. Letting an old bullet casing be ejected from the barrel and a new one be launched in. Resulting in a resounding *click* from the carbine. Matt then looked up from reloading his LC3 to see even more Timberwolves climb out of the thick brush of the tree line. And there were the Timberwolves that were there to begin with, their teeth dripping with a strange green liquid dripping from their mouth, which Matt thought was a mixture of poison and saliva, obviously from the chance of snagging a meal larger than that of the average pony. Matt then realized that he was facing an enemy with the strength of a pure beast, and would take a lot of firepower to take down. He then turn and ran towards Rainbow, who had just placed Twilight against a rock and was facing off against a Timberwolf. Matt then saw Rainbow deliver a swift kick with her hind legs that made direct contact with the wolf's jaw, sending it reeling from the force of the kick. He then ran over to her, whilst firing his LC3 towards a Timberwolf that was getting too close for his taste. "Go, get Twilight out of here!" shouted Matt while reloading another magazine into the LC3, "I'll hold them off." "But-" "Go!" snapped Matt, hitting a Timberwolf in the snout with the stock of his LC3. Rainbow immediately followed Matt's order without hesitation, and picked up Twilight by her midsection onto her back. She started to carry her through the thick brush; Using her wings to lift Twilight up a few inches whenever they encountered a thick root or fallen tree. All whilst the forest echoed with the sound of gunfire and the sounds of crunching wood; Dying down every few seconds, only to pick up again even closer to Rainbow, causing her blood pressure to go up with every reemergence of the loud bangs of Matt's alien weaponry. "Come on, Twilight, wake up." muttered Rainbow to Twilight's unconscious form, but was only met the an occasional breath every few seconds. Suddenly, the red form of Elise appeared in front of Rainbow, startling her to the point of which she dropped Twilight with a heavy *thud* "Alright, I've pinpointed the location of the chariot, keep going your current direction and you should be fine." said Elise quickly, her form fazing in and out of clarity every few seconds. "I have to go now, Matt's trying to wrestle with a Timberwolf and he needs all the help he can get." Elise then sped through Rainbow, causing a slight shudder to run down Rainbow's spine. "I am never going to get over Matt's strange toys." said Rainbow, picking up Twilight on her back and continuing her journey. Her hooves crushing several twigs and old leaves with every step, all while the gunfire never ceased It took several minutes of walking through briers, brambles, and other assorted foliage before Rainbow spotted the edge of the woods. A burst of energy filled every inch of her being. She then dashed as fast as she could to the sunlight, barreling into every thing that got in her way, and by the time she reached the clearing, Twilight's and Rainbows coats were scuffed up in several places, with leaves with residue sap on them sticking to them. Rainbow then saw the Gilded chariot, the stylish metal creating its own ambiance of beauty in the light of Celestia's sun. The light warming Rainbow's coat and filling her with the warm feeling safety. She then stated to trot towards the chariot and the awaiting guards. But was stopped when she felt a rustle on her back. She then turned to see Twilight, her eyes fluttering from the bright light of the sun. "Rainbow," said Twilight, meeting the surprised eyes of her fast-flying friend. "What happened? Where is Matt?" Suddenly, Twilight saw the two guards rush towards her. "Princess Twilight, are you okay?' asked one of the guards, bowing to his leader. "I'm fine," said Twilight, looking back to the forest. "Where's Matt, Rainbow?" "Yeah..." said Rainbow, rubbing the back of her head with her hoof, "He decided to stay behind and fight against the Timberwolves to protect us." "He WHAT!?" <><><><><><><><><><> *Rat-tat-tat-tat* The booming sound of Matt's LC3 echoed through the forest as he fired several bursts into a Timberwolf that was planning on jumping onto him from on top of a fallen tree that had collided with another, forming a type of chaotic arch. From his many scuffles with the wooden beasts, Matt had sustained various wounds. Including several scratches on his right arm, and a deep gash in his left cheek. A Timberwolf also tried to bite down on Matt's armor, resulting in several deep cuts in the plastoid armor. Matt then ran like the wind from the group of Timberwolves that had been following him since the clearing. Their claws nearly reaching his heels. He tried his best to stay ahead of the pack, knowing that if he faltered for even a moment would lead to his end. Matt then made a swift turn to his left, only to be met with huge crevice in the middle of his path. With no way out, he then turned to the oncoming horde, aiming his Jaguar where he expected the Timberwolves to come from; intending to die knowing that Rainbow and Twilight were safe. Just then, the lead Timberwolves made their way into Matt's sights. He then squeezed the trigger, unleashing a hail of bullets onto a Timberwolf, sending chunks of bark flying, but not derailing the wooden monster from it's current path. Beads of sweat formed on Matt's face with every step the wolves took, he then saw himself get closer to the crevice by the second; Faced by the contemplation of death by wildlife, or death by falling. Suddenly, a loud *Pew* resounded through the forest. Matt then turned to see a thin streak of plasma collide with a Timberwolf, the streak of light burning right through it's skull. Sending it to the ground. The wolves then began to back down, becoming one with the foliage in the forest. Until nothing was left but little pinpricks of their eyes. Matt then saw a figure dash through the woods, which looked closely to a human. With a strange shape on it's back, possibly the weapon it used to take down the Timberwolf. Matt then placed his LC3 on his back and took chase, hopping over branches and roots in an effort to keep up. He was then brought to a clearing, with mossy trees and a few streaks of light hitting a small rock formation in the center. "Show yourself, in the name of the citizens of the Terran Republic!" shouted Matt, pulling out his Jaguar and aiming it in several directions, searching for the mystery figure. "Ah, a soldier of the Republic, who serves his citizens to no bounds." said a female in a soothing, yet determined voice, "But only the citizens his government deem worthy." "I said, show yourself!" shouted Matt, once again. Sweat forming on his brow inside his helmet. He then saw a glimmer of light manifest out of the corner of his left eye on the rock. Revealing none other than a human female, dressed in the uniform of a Vanu Sovereignty Infilrator! The Infiltrator then touched a small button on her neck, and the advanced helmet collapsed around her head, revealing a Caucasian female. With blue eyes and a purple streak down her hair. She then sat on the rock, while Matt aimed his LC3 at the Infiltrator. "In the name of the Terran Republic, I order you to surrender, traitor!" snapped Matt, pointing the LC3 muzzle at the Infiltrator's head. "As much as I would love to accept you generous offer, I have other plans." said the infiltrator, her eyes glimmering in the sunlight, "And as for the word, "traitor", my fellow followers of Vanu prefer the term, "Advancements of the Human condition"." "I said, surrender!" bellowed Matt, gripping his Jaguar tighter. "Only if you catch me!" gleefully said the Infiltrator, hitting a button on her arm. Making her form become visible, one with the terrain. Matt then unloaded his magazine on the rock, only for the bullets to hit the rock. Suddenly, a small patch of bushes to the right of Matt rustled. Leading Matt to believe that the Infiltrator had ran through them. Making Matt take a mad dash towards the bushes, just in time to see several more pieces of foliage move on their own. Matt then rushed towards the bushes, but instead of the Infiltrator, he saw a bright light. And at the end of the light was his pony friends, with Twilight showing signs of anger. He then rushed towards his friends, much to the surprise of two ponies dressed in golden armor and carrying spears, who pointed said weapons at him. But Twilight just pushed aside the guards, and hugged Matt around the waist. Causing Matt the recoil and blush from the physical contact. "Um, h-hi, Twilight." stammered Matt, his face red with embarrassment. "Sorry, Matt." said Twilight, letting got of her iron grip on Matt, "I was just afraid that you might have... well, died." "It's okay, Twilight." said Matt with a reassuring smile, "Besides, with Elise at my side, there was no way I could have died." Matt being obviously proud of his little companion. "Yeah, believe me, Twilight. Matt was totally cool the entire time, almost as me!" interjected Rainbow, her brash ego showing. "Yeaaahhh," said Matt, taken back by the size of the cyan pegasus' ego. "So, how are we getting to your leaders?" "On that," said Twilight, pointing to the golden chariot. Which made Matt just stare at it. "You know, if they wanted to give us a nice ride, they could have at least given us a covered chariot." said Matt, walking over to the chariot and inspecting it. "Well, this is the most luxurious state-of-the-art flying chariot." said Twilight. The guards starting to harness themselves to the golden transport. "Wait, flying?" asked Matt, truly surprised at Twilight's statement. "How can a chariot made out of solid gold fly? Let alone be pulled by two small horses?" "It's quite simple actually, the gold is enchanted to be lightweight so the drivers can pull it." stated Twilight matter-of-factly, who turned to see Rainbow stifling a laugh at Matt's ignorance, which she promptly glared at. Making Rainbow contain her laughter for good. She then turned back to Matt, "It even has an magical barrier that stops the passengers from falling off while in flight." "I don't know, still seems pretty unsafe." said Matt, doubtfully. I'm sure it's fine, if Princess Celestia requisitioned it for us, I'm 100% certain that she had every variable taken into account." said Twilight, trotting over to the chariot and sitting down on it. "Come on, it's fine." She then patted the golden flooring of the chariot. "Fine," groaned Matt, walking over to the chariot and sitting next to Twilight. The former was then promptly followed by Rainbow. And with a mighty push and a flurry of flaps, the two guards were able to pull the chariot, sending it above the trees, and over the clouds. And all Matt could do was stare in awe with his mouth wide at the sudden takeoff. Which made Rainbow, and even Twilight snicker at Matt sudden shock. But what Matt was actually in awe about was a small figure that was at the place they had taken off from. And as he squinted his eyes to get a better look, the figure turned out to be the same Infiltrator from the forest! And this made Matt infuriated to no end. He even reached for his TX2 in his holster to fire a few rounds at her. But he stopped when he realized the futility of the idea. He took off his helmet and goggles off the clear his head with the gusting wind. At first, Twilight had no idea who-or what- was behind the helmet and goggles, she couldn't even imagine what the rest of his face looked like. But when he took the protective gear off, Matt was revealed to have a fairly hairless head, with only a disheveled, unkempt head of brown hair at the top with bushy eyebrows. "Say Matt," asked Twilight, while studying the facial features of Matt. "What exactly happened in the forest? I mean, while Rainbow and I were at the chariot, we didn't hear your weapon for quite a lengthy time. Did something happen?" Matt then turned to Twilight and sighed, knowing that he would have to eventually bring the problems of his race into theirs. "There's been a....development in my stay." said Matt sitting down with crossed legs, staring deeply at Twilight, "Under section 42869 of Terran Republic Military Guidebook: Any country that is under threat by any enemies of the Terran Rebublic can accept assistance from Terran Republic military personnel if the reigning ruler and/or governing body requests or accepts it. If the assistance is deemed necessary." Matt then finished his lengthy rule recital, leaving the ponies with wide eyes, in shock at what was just described to them, and even the guards turned around from their monotonous task the confirm what Matt had said. But Rainbow had a different reason to be shocked from the others. ".....Say what-now?" asked Rainbow, her face contorted with confusion. Matt then groaned at this, and rubbed his eyebrows with his thumb and index finder. "Okay," said Matt, trying to calm himself from the pegasus' ignorance. "Let me try to be simple: Your nation is under threat of annihilation from the Vanu Sovereignty, a faction from the civil war waged on my planet. And since they've probably seen me collaborating with you pe-ponies, they will probably burn your nation to the ground." Rainbow then began to ponder this. "...So, alien invasion?" asked Rainbow, remembering the concept from the comic books she read as a filly. "Basically," said Matt, noticing that Twilight hadn't moved a muscle since he told them the news about the Vanu Sovereignty's soldiers on their soil. He then tried snapping his fingers in front of Twilight, which seemed to awaken her from her shock. "So, what happens now?" asked Twilight, waiting intently for Matt's response. "Well, I'd say it's about time we meet your rulers." said Matt, watching Canterlot come into view, the white buildings glistening in the sunlight. And even though he was not showing it, Matt was truly amazed by the architectural beauty of the mountainside city. "And I think this is going to take a turn for the worse if something isn't done soon." Author's Note Well, if you are down here, then you have (surprisingly) made it past chapter 3 of this story, so have a cookie! https://camo.derpicdn.net/2c3008490d3f59f34592736e73f2902e43522d56?url=http%3A%2F%2Fi0.kym-cdn.com%2Fentries%2Ficons%2Foriginal%2F000%2F004%2F623%2F1538135.jpg Dang it, kitty. And I'm sure the comments are going to be like: "Erhmagerd, you added VS!? This is a terrible idea, I'm reporting your for writting shitty!" But anyway, Question of the Chapter: How screwed is Equestria? //-------------------------------------------------------// We Interrupt This Program to Bring You a Question //-------------------------------------------------------// We Interrupt This Program to Bring You a Question So, many of you (If you actually thought about thinking about this Sleep-deprivation-made crackfic) may have noticed that I have not updated this fic in some time.
