..."Ugh..." Pinkie opened her eyes. She was in a small glass room, with a toilet, a small desk with a clipboard, and an odd looking bed. "Where am I? Did I eat too many cupcakes before bed again?" She noticed a timer counting down above where the door should be. "Ooh! What's this for? Is something baking? Wait a minute..." She looked around. "HEY! Where's the door here! How do I get-" "Hello, and again, welcome to the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Center." An odd, female-sounding robotic voice said. "Who said that?" "We hope your brief detention in the Relaxation Vault has been a pleasant one." "Detention?!" Pinkie said. "What did I do wrong?" But the voice couldn't seem to be able to hear her. "Your specimen has been processed, and we are now ready to begin the test proper." Pinkie was worried. "Test? I didn't study! I didn't know there was a test! I didn't know I was in school! Who are you anyway!?" But the voice took no notice. "Before we start, however, please note that while fun and learning are the primary goals of all Enrichment Center activities-" "Fun!" "-serious injuries may occur. For your own safety, please refrain from-" But the voice cut out temporarily before saying "Stand back. The portal will open in 3... 2... 1..." As she said that, a glowing orange oval appeared below the timer. At the same time,a blue oval appeared under a second timer outside the box that she hadn't noticed before. "Ooh! What's this?" As she looked through it, she realized with a jolt, that she could see... "Hey! It's me! Hi, me!" She could see herself waving and talking, but she couldn't seem to hear herself. "What is this anyway?" Pinkie wondered aloud. "That robot voice said something about a 'portal'?" As she tentatively raised her hoof toward it, it just went right through it. At the same time, a pink hoof came out of the blue oval outside. "WHOA! That is so COOL!" Pinkie said, and she stepped through. "Fun", she said , as she went back and forth a few times. "In, out, in, out, in, out!" She said, before noticing a circular door, that was half green, half silver, with a small stick figure on the green part. "Hmm?" Pinkie said, walking up to it. As she did, a small circle in the middle turned, and the door opened by itself. "Ooh! Fancy!"
As she walked into the next room, the door shut by itself and wouldn't open again. She was in a new room, with a red button, another door, and an orange tube above the floor. She noticed a line of small blue circles leading from the button to the door. "I wonder..." Pinkie thought. As she stood on the button, the circles turned orange, and the door opened. "Yay!" Pinkie said, but as she ran toward the door, it snapped shut, and Pinkie accidentally ran into it. "Ow. Hey! What was that for?" She tried a few times, but she could not go fast enough to get through. "Ugh! How do I get through?!" She walked under the tube. "Hello!" Pinkie called to it, just before her tail started twitching. "Huh? Woah!" Pinkie said as she jumped out of the way, just before it opened up, and a small cube fell out. As she walked up to it, she noticed an odd emblem on it. It was a circle, divided up into segments. Pinkie thought it looked sort of like what you would see if you looked through the end of a straw, or the intro to a James Pony movie. "Oh! I know!" She said, as she picked up the cube. As she did, the voice said "Please place the Weighted Storage Cube on the Fifteen Hundred Megawatt Heavy-Duty Super-Colliding Super Button". Pinkie just stared. "Mega-WHAT? Ooh, the button? Ok!" When she placed it on the button, the circles turned orange, and the door opened. "Perfect. Please proceed quickly to the chamberlock, as the effects of prolonged exposure to the Button are not part of this test. First, however, note the incandescent particle field across the exit." Pinkie hadn't noticed before, but there was an odd glowing field behind the door. "The Aperture Science Material Emancipation Grill will vaporize any unauthorized equipment that passes through it. For instance, the Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube." "Really?" Pinkie was interested. "Let me see!" But as she picked up the cube to go try it, the door snapped shut. "Whoops! I forgot!" Placing it back down, she hopped through the field and into the elevator. As the elevator closed and began to rise, Pinkie thought out loud. "Well, this is cool! All the fancy equipmee portals! But where am I? And how did I get here? Hmm..." as she brought out her trusty bubble pipe.
