Updated 8/31/2014 - Added cover art that I created myself. However I have just realized that I forgot to give a horn to ShimmeringAgate… I'll fix that at a later date. I will most likely add images within the story as I create them. I have made few others already, but they are of events later in the story.

Hello proof-readers!
This my rough draft for the first few chapters of my story, and that is why I need your help.
I would like to get any inconsistencies or errors ironed out now before I start building up to the actual main conflict. I also want my story to be heavily critiqued by you all so that I can learn how to make it better.
These early chapters are very important to a story as it sets the tone and mood, which is actually a lot of the time more important than the plot itself, like how a foundation is to a structure.

To make this easier for you all, I'll write what I am concerned about in the Author's Notes for each chapter and set it onto the top, then I would like your advice about it plus things that you were confused about or suggestions that would improve the chapter. You can post it as a comment, on the forums, or just PM me.

If you want to do some editing, then I can put my story out on Google Docs for you.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your proofreading and improving my story. Never think that you are being too critical, the more you tell me the better spent your time was.

-Current Story Description Below-

Have you ever wondered why Equestria is what it is? Why there a castle in the middle of the Everfree Forest? What is the significance of the Crystal Empire? And why does everything mysteriously happen a thousand years before the events of Season 1?

You see, the show will never explain this to us, therefore we must make up our headcanons to fill in these gaps. I myself has written up an entire history book in my own head about why things are.

Yet the typical person does not wish to read a silly ol' history book. Therefore, I had to create this story.

"History is truthfully only a story that we say is our past, yet both reality and myth can sometimes blend and mix within that story."



This story begins in an era that is over a thousand year before Season 1, though it could also be even older than that.


I currently have the teen rating really only because this is a war story. I will keep this story reasonably clean and not heavily graphic. It may briefly mention some graphic images, but that is about as far as I will go. Also all curse words have been ponified, and are not everywhere. In the eighteen thousand words that I have currently, I think I only have two lines that may have an allusion to a curse word.

This story is a work in progress, and it will probably not be finished for some time. It may become a series, yet I do not know completely for sure yet. It's a long beautifully complex story and truthfully I myself do not know where it will lead up.
