Chapters The music was loud. The drinks tasted awful. She was really tired. She didn't care. All that mattered was that the birthday mare, Fudge, was having a great time. She was on the floor with her friends, all three of them drunk. "Oh." she thought to herself. "She is gonna have fun in the morning." Lily sighed as Gemstone sat next to her. Gemstone was a white unicorn with a plum mane and baby blue eyes. She had a ruby for a cutie mark.
"Will they remember any of this in the morning?" asked Gemstone, with a sarcastic tone.
"Probably not. What should we say if they ask?" They both started laughing at this.
"We say we couldn't see them among the crowd." They laughed even harder. This was only funny considering the only other ponies were some of the club regulars, and some stallions who noticed three good looking mares walk into a club. About an hour later, they head home. There were only five ponies at the party, not counting the random stallions. There was Fudge and Lily of course, then there were Fudges best friends, Sonata and Regal Fantasy. Both white unicorns like their mother, Sonata's mane is blue, while Regal's is the opposite, pink. When they reach the street where they part ways, Lily makes a left, then another left, then a right, and ends up at her apartment building. The hike to their apartment was long and dull and very painful. Lily was practically carrying a very drunk and passed out Cocoa Fudge up to the sixth floor of their apartments. When their destination was reached, Lily threw Fudge onto her bed, tucked her in, and wished her a happy hangover and sweet dreams. Lily put her mane up into a loose bun and plopped herself on the couch and read a novel. She always enjoyed reading. Especially her favorite book, Fudges scrap book. It was full of memories. She stared at a picture of her little Fudgie at the after party of that fashion competition that Rarity won. They used to live in Manehattan with Lily's mom, Posy. She got her cutie mar that day. She managed to sneak a plate of her fudge to the dessert table. Lily remembered hiding under the table, giggling with fudge as they listened to the satisfied ponies snack on her treat. Ever since she had made dinner, and dessert and it was always good.
In the morning, She left Fudge at home, and went to the diner to go get the stallion who rented the room. As she walked in the door, she reminisced about the time she met the love of her life. A stallion who she forgot the name of, but will always remember his face. She felt somewhat ashamed for forgetting the name of Fudgie's father. As she walked into the diner, she said hello to the waitress, Griddle, and had a seat on a stool. Not long after that a pegasus stallion walked in and sat next to her. "Your Lily, right?"
She looks to her left to find a tall, dark, and yellow stallion sipping his coffee. " That would be me. You must be Storm Chaser. You know, when you told me you had a yellow mane, I didn't think like that." She sipped her own coffee and wondered if his mane glowed under black light.
"Hehe. Yeah. I get that a lot." He smiled, she smiled, it truly was awkward. The walk there was just as awkward. They walked in complete silence. Mostly because Storm Chaser was in awe at the beautiful city around them." It has been forever since I have been to Pegasus. I wonder if my old friend still lives here."
"How long has it been since you've seen this friend?" Maybe Lily knew him or her.
"Twenty one years." He enjoyed seeing the look on her face.
"They are probably gone by now. Hey, you know what? My daughter just celebrated her twenty first birthday yesterday. Don't mind her when we get there. She is a bit hung over." Now it was her turn to surprise him.
"You have a daughter?"

This is my second fic. I am not even finished with the first. Please bear with me.
Lily and Storm stepped into the apartment, only to be greeted by the sound of moaning. "Fudgie, I'm home, and I brought guests. Fudgie, Fudge where are you?" She looked over to see a figure slowly shift from the couch, to the floor.
"What time is it mom?" Came a voice, muffled by carpet.
"About twelve." Lily cantered over and helped Fudge off the floor and back onto that spot on the couch. "I will go make some tea. Fudge, Storm, please get acquainted. You will be living together for the next couple of weeks." Storm made his way over to the sitting area and plopped himself down on a chair.
"What happened last night kid?" Asked Storm with a quizzical look on his face. " I once knew this guy, and he owned a bar. His brother always used to make fun of him and song this song making fun of it. Then his brother got mad. That never ended well." All that he got from Fudge was a moan. Not so much she was in pain, but because she was so bored. Storm couldn't tell but Lily could.
"Fudgie be nice. We have guests." Storm just stared at them.
"Mom, don't call me Fudgie. My name is Fudge. I am not a kid anymore." Lily came over and gave Fudge a hug.
"Oh, you will always be my little Fudgie forever." She looked over her moms shoulder and mouthed "help me" to Storm. Storm was literally rolling on the floor laughing so hard he dropped his taco. All Fudge could do was give this "I hate my life" look.
"Alright, enough fooling around, who wants tacos?" Before you knew it, all three ponies were gathered around the table, munching in tacos. After their taco feast, Fudge decided that she was ready to walk again, and headed off to the twins house. That left Lily and Storm alone, Ina small apartment, with nothing to do, and a few tacos.
"Do you want to start a book club?" Storm suggested.
"Sure. Should. We read Diary of a vampire fruit bat?" Asked Lily.
"Sure. Do you have any ponies to invite? Besides Fudge."
" Yeah, three. Gemstone, and the twins." It seemed simple enough. " Fudge will cover the snacks, every pony can buy their own books, I think is easy. Way too easy."
" Let's make invites." Lily got the supplies, and they started writing. After they were done, they examined each other's work. "No offense Lily, but you used way, way too much glitter." Noting the excess glitter in her mane and the sparkly carpet.
"Yours needs more glitter." She rolled a crayon over to him with her hoof, making a point of the dull, gray card.
After they passed out invites, Storm went back to his chair, and Lily went to the couch. They were bored. Really bored. "Does your mane glow under black light?" Lily leaned forward a little, anxiously awaiting her answer.
"You want to go find out?" In a split second they were out the door, racing down the sidewalk, Storm winning by a mile, considering Lily barely flies, and her friends are all unicorns and earth ponies. She found it ironic, the lack of pegasi she knew in Peagsus. At least, there was one.
That's your natural mane?
"Alright girls." This was met with a hey from Storm Chaser. Lily rolled her eyes and continued. "I have an announcement to make. My friend is coming out from Canterlot to visit for a while. She will be staying not far from here at that hotel down the road. She will be over here a lot,so be kind. Especially you Storm Chaser."
"Why me especially?"
"Because you spend more time at our apartment than Fudge. You should really get out more."
"Okay." He had grown to like the apartment over the last couple of days. He wasn't ready to start searching. But he could get ready.
"Any questions? Yes Fudge."
"Who is this friend you are bringing?" Fudge took a step towards Lily, and sat there. She was obviously trying to intimidate Lily into giving her the answer instead of saying:
"It's a surprise." Fudge groaned. "That doesn't work on me anymore Fudgie. I am leaving right now, so why don't you two go do something. You could show Storm around, get a couple drinks, see if his mane does glow under black light, since you stopped us yesterday." Storm just sat there. He could use a drink right now. Fudge just groaned and pouted. She really didn't want to have to sit there with this idiot. Lily walked out the door, and closed it shut.
"So, Fudge, want to go to the club? The one with the black lights. You seem like a sciencey type of pony, let's go do an experiment." Fudge just nodded, and off they went. They were halfway there, when Storm asked "So, is she your biological mother or not, because you two are nothing alike." This question intrigued Fudge.
"How so?"
"Well, you are so intellectual, and always wanting to get work done, but Lily is so, immature. Always upbeat, and very," Storm thought for a moment and replied, " Out there." The more Fudge thought about it, the more Fudge realized how true this was. She and. Lily were practically nothing alike.
"Yes. Lily is my biological mother. Grandma says I am a complete replica of. Lily when she was my age, so really, nopony knows what changed her. She says it was my father, and I guess that's all I got." Storm saw her eyes become glossy and decided to change the subject.
"Look, we are almost here." They walked in, and got themselves some drinks. Suddenly Storm pulled her over with him.
"Where are you taking me?" She could only figure the answer yet to come.
"To the black lights!" When they got there, most of the dancing crowd stopped. They all stared as Storm Chaser's mane lit up, and glowed bright yellow. The crowed stared in awe.
" Is that your real mane?" Asked a pony in the crowd.
"Surprisingly, yes." Even Fudge was bewildered. Wait 'till Lily hears about this.
After they departed from the club, they stood outside, laughing, and wondering what to do next.
"I have an idea, let's go to the train tracks and eat lunch." That sounded like a good idea at first, considering his growling stomach, but then he thought twice.
"What about the train. Isn't it dangerous?"
"Nah, Mom has been taking me there ever since I was a little foal. This is their lunch hour." It sounded like a good idea, so they trotted off to the diner, not saying as much as here we are and what sounds good to you. They both agreed on hay fries and a daisy sandwich. Fudge being their guide, directed Storm to her favorite place on the tracks, and they settled down to eat their food.
About an hour and a half later, Fudge sat there, listening to her portable CD player she brought along, while Storm Chaser flew in and out of clouds, flying around and enjoying the view of the skyline. He knew the train Lily wouldn't be home for another hour or so. He pushed a couple of clouds together and laid down. He started to doze off when he heard a noise.it was getting closer. Too close. WOOH WOOH! He recognized that sound anywhere. The conductors were off lunch break. He started to panic. We're the heck was Fudge?he couldn't see her anywhere. Maybe she was on the other side of the tracks. Or maybe... He kept into action, right as she screamed and scrambled to get up. He swooped down and grabbed her, he thought she would be kicking and flailing. I guess he was wrong. Fudge stayed still, holding on for dear life.
"It's ok now Fudge, you can open your eyes." For the first time in ages, his tone softened, as if to comfort a little filly. Fudge was amazed at this quick change.
"You sure reacted quickly." Remarked Fudge, still out of breath from her near death experience.
"Fatherly instincts." Replied Storm, sounding unsure of himself.
"You were a father?" Fudge was shocked.
"Yeah, about twenty years ago, I'm here to find the mother, meet my kid,you know all that stuff you see on TV."
"I didn't see that one coming." Fudge began to question her life now. It would be crazy if Storm was... I mean twenty versus twenty one, no. It wasn't possible. As they walked away, Fudge wasn't shaking because she was almost hit by a train, it was because there was a possibility that Storm was her father.
Author's Note
I made this chapter as kind of a bonding between two characters who weren't the best of friends, obviously. But also to bring out possibilities.
"And I said, go buy your own bow tie!" The two mares started laughing, and couldn't seem to stop.
"So, where are you staying tonight? Got some fancy hotel booked?" Lily asked, usually her friend always stayed at the nearest hotel.
"Actually, I was hoping I'm an stay here. You do have that spare room." Lily froze. She forgot to tell her about Storm! The tried to find the right words, not wanting to disappoint anypony.
"Actually, I am renting out the spare room for a couple of weeks, to make some extra bits. But we can always make arrangement."
Her friend's expression didn't change in the slightest.
She just smiled and said "I will take the couch." She seemed very content on spending time with Lily. She was acting very strange, like she owed Lily something, but she hadn't a clue. "Say, where is this pony, the one renting out the room?" Lily thought. She hadn't seen them in a while and was starting to worry.
"I really don't know, but they should be home soon." Lily thought. It was starting to get dark, as dusk approached. The air cooled and the stars began to twinkle. Lily truly loved the nights beauty. "You know, I bet they are at the dinner, and he is feeding fudge some tall tales about how his sister has fire power." The guest chuckled at this.
"What is the name of said pony we speak of?" Asked Lily's guest of honor, who was letting her curiosity get the better of her.
"Storm Chaser." Lily replied. Her friend's face soon changed, to reveal a look of confusion.
"Doesn't he live in Ponyville? With his family?" Lily had never thought to ask, but she was going to take the guests word for it. After all, she had been to Ponyville more times than Lily.
"I don't know." As I finish my sentence, the door opens, and Fudgie ran over to Lily. She hugged her mom tightly.
"Okay Fudge, I didn't know you liked hugs this much." Somehow, Lily had a feeling that Fudgie wasn't just in a huggy lovey mood.
"Is everything alright?" Lily asked.
"I don't like trains anymore. I never will again." Lily figured she will have Storm explain later.
"Anyway, I would like you two to meet my friend, Ms. Octavia." They all turned their attention to the gray earth pony in the pink bow tie.
"Hello, nice to meet you both." She spoke with a Canterlot accent, and had a friendly smile on her face.
"Hey, Octavia, I saw one of your shows in town one time, my girlfriend loved it. By the way I'm single." Storm had this cheesy smile on his face. Octavia replayed with a humph and continued.
"Anyway, I was wondering if you would like to show me where the diner is, I am simply famished." With that they walked out the door, and down the street, sparing a bit to a homeless mare and her filly, and getting sandwiches.

I would put a reference to my other story in here, but they take place in two different cities. Hope you enjoyed. :3
By the way this chapter is meant to be short. I needed to introduce Octavia, for she is one of the main characters.
In the beginning, there were two pegasi. Lily, a pink mare with a darker pink mane. Then there was another who's name is unknown and forgotten, for it was destiny he leave. But that one crazy night in Las Pegasus when he was here, changed both of their lives. The unknown stallion's location is unknown, but Lily, with the exception of one move, still lives in Pegasus to this day, 21 years later. Now she is 45, with a 21 year old daughter. Their lives were great until something happened. Lily brought up a topic that happened to change their lives forever. The topic of renting out the spare room. You see, Lily never made much money, she ran a dating service. And Fudge wasn't doing any better as a chef. together they agreed to put an ad in the paper Lovestruck dating, for a room for rent. They hoped somepony would notice, and that somepony wasn't a psychopath. They waited and they waited, until they got tired of waiting. They were going to take the add down. Then they got a letter from somepony who was coming to stay for a couple weeks, and would like to rent it. Together they agreed on a price, and agreed to meet up at the local diner. It was settled. Relieved knowing they would have a small surplus a bits for now, Lily went to the park. That's when it hit her. How long will the surplus really keep them going?
Princess Fudgie Friendly Pants
"Seriously? I am gone for two hours, and you've gone and organized a book club. You seriously couldn't think of anything better?" Fudge was both shocked and angry. Of all the things they could do, like get groceries, or watch TV, they made a huge mess of glitter all over the carpet. She stepped forward. As soon as her hoof hit the ground, a giant puff of glitter came up.
"All hail Princess Fudgie Sparkly Friend. You should've gone like this to your party last night." All was silent except for Storm Chaser's laugh, Which probably would have woken the neighbors, if they weren't already awake. The next thing Storm knew, he had taken a glitter puff to the face, and was coughing it up.
"Alright. You want war, then so be it!" With that both mares ran across the room and ducked behind various pieces of furniture. Storm flew up to get an aerial view. That sent Fudge Sparkle Pants running and Lily rocketing to the sky, above Storm. Storm glanced at Lily, and threw the glitter, but she avoided it, and dove down to get a hoof full of glitter. Just when Lily had grabbed the glitter! the door suddenly burst open and the pony in question got three face full's of glitter.
"What the hay is going on here?" Storm didn't know who this angry pony was, but by the pale looks on the mares faces, he could only guess.
"Oh, uh Mr. Minium. We were making invites to our book club, and uh, we were using glitter, but it got messy, and we were cleaning up, but uh, you startled us and we accidentally threw glitter at you." Fudge gave her most convincing smile, hoping he would buy it.
" Well, try to tone it down please. The ponies under you are complaining, and I have enough to worry about already, ok?" He gave a stern look, and walked out the door. But before he was out of the picture, he said " Be sure to invite me to your next book club, ok?" All three ponies nodded, and he walked out the door.
"Nice going there, Fudgie! You really fooled Condominium. That's my Princess Sparkly Fudge Friend." Though, they were all wound up from the glitter incident, they all agreed it was time to settle down, and not wake the neighbors again. Lily showed Storm his room, and he said goodnight, and went to bed. Lily ate one more taco, then went to bed. Fudge fell asleep on the couch, watching TV. All was good in the apartment, and Storm Chaser knew that these we're going to be the weirdest, and most action packed weeks of his life. But little did he know that they would be the most important.
Author's Note
This chapter is just because I really needed something to show the characters personality, and make the story longer. Hope you enjoyed the glitter fight.
