Toughen Up, Buttercup...
Spike feels like he is weak, clumsy, and basically useless, and to top it all off, he still can't get his dream girl. Shining Armor has an idea that will fix all of Spike's problems.
Spike is feeling down. He's not strong, he's not skilled in anything in particular, and Rarity is less than impressed. Shining Armor thinks he knows a solution to Spike's issues. Spike will be pushed to his limits to become the greatest he can be. Will he become smart, fast, strong or will the experience break him?

This story is anthro because I think it will work out better in the long run. I'm imagining the kind of anthro that leans a little more to the human side of the scale than the pony side. (Just in case you wanted to imagine what Spike looks like.) Example: Spike has hair on his head instead if spikes.
Oh yea, and also Spike is suppose to be around 16 or 17.
