"Run!"Metalshard yelled as she held off the advancing serpentine forces with the rest of her squad. "But, what about ma and pa!?"yelled Youngblood as he ran toward the door at the far end of the hall. "They are already on their way to the wharf young master, now hurry!"She yelled as a snake like creature snatched her up and flung her down the hall. "Shard!"Youngblood yelled just as a guard grabbed him and ran into the room that the young prince was to hide in. Hours passed and when the guard finally opened the door a horror awaited him and the prince. The hall was covered in blood and body parts lay across the floor, the serpentine had won but not without a fight. "Okay young master, we need to get you to the wharf."the guard said as he lead the little prince through the hall and out of the castle. "In the name of Necras, don't look son just follow me."the guard said as he led the prince toward the wharf keeping him from seeing the carnage of the aftermath of the war, the guard had a hard time keeping his lunch down as he walked past all the dead, torn, eaten, and rotted corpses that covered the street.
"I think we are in the clear."the guard sighed as he trotted up to a boat that was resting at the wharf. "Oh Necras!"Youngblood cried as he pointed to bodies that were slumped down next to a nearby barrel, it was his mom and dad, they were beyond dead, their bodies were covered in thousands of cuts, they were each missing body parts and their entire heads were gone. "How do you like my work."laughed a reptilian like beast as it slithered from behind the barrels and lunged at the prince. "Not today lizard breath!" the guard yelled as he tackled the serpentine and slammed it into the ground, "I'm sorry my prince." the guard said as the fire that made up his mane and tail grew and soon engulfed his entire body and the serpentine as the crew from the ship rushed in and pulled the prince back to the ship. "No, let me go." Youngblood yelled as he tried to free himself, "Careful son, cool it! We ordered to help and protect you alone, no one else!" the captain yelled as he got up to the top of the plank just as an explosion occurred in front of him. "No!!"Youngblood screamed as half his body exploded into flames and when the flames died down it revealed a hideous looking beast. Half the kids mane and tail was fire, his right eye was black with an orange glint in it making it look like a flame, and half his body was black and charred and resembled a corpse itself. "So he is a Nightmare."the captain remarked as his crew backed up in fear and amazement. The true form of this kids kind contrasted against the green hide, black mane and tail, and blue eyes of this young colt made him look more hideous than the rest of his kind, he was a Nightmare gone awry.
"NNNNOOOO!!!"Freakshow yelled as he woke up from his nightmare, it had been six years since he had left the land of his birth and been turned into the freak that he was. "The same dream, every night."He sighed as he got out of bed and looked around at the inside of the coach that he was in, it was once a prisoner transfer coach and was now his trailer. "Hey, Freakshow, we are at the next location for the circus."said the coachmare through the barred window at the front of the coach. "Thanks Crystalhide."the young colt said as he put on his cloak and mask and jumped out the back and walked up to front of the coach and jumped beside the mare who he shared a part with in the circuses freak show. "I see your handling well."Freakshow sighed as he looked around at the forest they were traveling through. "Yeah, that curse I got five years back has kind of grown on me, literally."Crystalhide chuckled as the crystals that covered her body shined in the light. "It looks like the rest of the circus has already set up, and it already has a crowd."Freakshow said as a big top circus towered over the forest in a clearing near the town that it was staring at and all around it were ponies, eating carnival food, playing carnival games, and looking at all the freaks waiting for the show to start. "Looks like a lot of ponies are interested in freaks."Crystalshard huffed as she steered the oxen over next to another one of the freak coaches and parked the coach there. "Lets go entertain the masses."She sighed as she and Freakshow hopped off the coach and walked toward the big top.
Now Crystalshard was right when she said that many ponies were interested in the freaks but not all of them were interested for a bad reason. "C'mon Spike. If ya don't hurry you'll miss tha show."Applejack called to the dragon as she and the rest of the mane 6 waked into the big top and sat down on the first row. "I know Applejack, but I just don't like seeing all of those weird freaks."Spike said as he sat down next to twilight with a bag of popcorn in one claw and cup of soda in the other. "Don't worry, they are all probably just ponies afflicted by poison joke."twilight said as the show began and a young pegasus walked into the center ring, she had wings twice her size and looked as if it were a struggle to walk, "See, that can't be caused by anything else. Its just a farce."Twilight said as the pegasus took flight and did amazing tricks in the air. When she was done the next freak galloped onto the stage, he was much weirder in that he had fins instead of wings and a fish like tail, and from then on the freaks just got weirder and weirder and twilights theory dwindled more and more until the last freak was to appear. This time it was different though, the ringmaster stepped into the center ring carrying a mic, and introduced the next freak.
"Mares and gentlecolts, allow me to introduce to you this night, our greatest freak in the show. This young colt hails from a faraway land, his people were a feared kind and had many enemies. He is the last of his kind, having survived what is known in their land as the great purge. He is stuck between forms, one is that of a demon, and the other of a normal colt. He is able to see fears and dreams and goes by a very befitting name. Mares and gentlecolts, allow me to introduce the prince of dreams and the king of nightmares, Freakshow!"the ringmaster yelled as the lights suddenly went out and moments late came back on with a young colt only about 11 years old standing where the ringmaster once stood. He wore a black cloak around his body and a blank mask on his face. "I am Freakshow. I can sense ones fears very easily and can sense alot of em right now, one fears of being late for everything as well as disorder, one fears of not being accepted by the one he loves, and another of not being able to become as good as her hero; but there is an immediate fear in the crowd of what I might be. A certain pony fears that I might be something that she knows from legends, is hoping that I am not it, but I shall prove it wrong or right by showing you the ultimate fright."the colt said into his mic. as he removed his cloak and mask in one swift motion and revealed his true form. The sight caused everyone to move back in fear for they had never seen such a sight, Half his mane and tail was fire, his right eye was black with an orange glint in it making it look like a flame, and half his body was black and charred and resembled a corpse itself. The other half of his body was green, half of his mane and tail was black, and his left eye was blue. "I am Freakshow! The last member of the species of pony known as Nightmares!"Freakshow yelled as his mane and tails fire burst into a bigger flame and a scream ran out through the tent as a young colt panicked over the sudden explosion of fire. Freakshow laughed as he walked out of the tent as the ringmaster walked onto the stage. "Okay everypony, the rest of the week will be like a normal circus, but if you wish to see the freaks some more or even talk to them, you can go to their coaches from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. Good night and I hope to see you here tomorrow."the ringmaster said as the show ended and the ponies left to return to their homes or continue playing games or riding rides at the carnival. "Nice one Freakshow!"laughed the fish boy from his water tank on top of his coach. Freakshow just glared ahead as he opened up the door to his coach and walked inside before slamming the door shut behind him and going to bed.
