//-------------------------------------------------------// The Werepony Project -by Dusk Storm- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 As soon as she finished drinking, there were several changes to the mare. Her mane and tail became a little more wild, her ears finished in tufts, and she had gained fangs. It was simply incredible! Even so, it was also a little frightening. The mare laid back down and seemed to go to sleep, simply from being tired – likely not the actual test. “It seems it passed the test with flying colors. Oh, but I'm afraid we need a more... welcomed specimen. Say... would you, Twilight, be willing to take part in this project?” “Luna-” “I'd be glad to help.” “Are you sure, my student?” “I'm nervous, but if it'll help ponies, I'll contribute.” “Very well then. I'm glad I brought a spare elixir. Let it be from this day forth that there shall be a new race of ponies!” Twilight's POV I finished the elixir, my face scrunching up from the taste. While it wasn't terrible, I knew I didn't want to taste it again. Suddenly, I felt my form change. My teeth lengthened, my ears changed, and I overall felt stronger. As strange and new as the sensation was, it was also draining. While I knew I wouldn't have to worry for a while, it still clawed at the back of my mind. Even more so was my fear at what my friends would think. I'd trust them with anything, but my new appearance was still something to take in. “So how do you feel, Twilight?” “It's... hard to describe. I feel like more paths have opened up.” “Oh!” Luna perked up. “I suppose we should teach her about some of her new abilities, hm, Celestia?” “I suppose my student may enjoy some help. Come, let's go to the garden.” As I followed the princesses around, I glanced at the sky. It's already getting dark, I thought. At least then it would be a little less strange to see a... werepony in the garden with the royal sisters. If I were one of the royal guard, I would be suspicious to see what was happening. Near the middle of the garden, we stopped. There was a large square of land, the very center holding a water fountain. It looked to be a peaceful place, surrounded only by flowers and ground. “Here is where you shall learn to master your abilities. Celestia, would you start?” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 “Twilight!” Spike called. “Huh?” asked Twilight, just waking from her bookish daze. “Princess Celestia wants to see you at the palace. She also said you wouldn't need to bring anything.” “When?” “Soon.” “Then let's get going!” Quickly, the lavender unicorn used her magic to levitate the dragon onto her back as she ran out the door. It was customary, though Spike still shook his head. He had never quite gotten used to it. They boarded the train to Canterlot, sinking into the seats. Twilight was still fretting about their arrival, though. What would it be about? Why did the princess wish her company? Her mind chugged away more thoughts as they headed closer and closer to their destination. ~ “Hello, my faithful student. I'm glad you were able to come,” Celestia greeted Twilight. Twilight nuzzled her teacher, replying. "It's my pleasure, really!" The two talked about their experiences for some time, with Spike occasionally chipping in. It wasn't a conversation focused on anything on particular, just a chat to exchange happenings. After a while, Luna interrupted them. “Pardon the interruption sister, but I recommend we get on with our project.” “Ah, I suppose we should. Come along, Twilight.” Luna gave Celestia a look, but didn't say anything. Twilight Sparkle followed the princesses into a room she hadn't seen before. It was a small-sized room, though there was enough room for you to comfortably walk through. Upon further inspection, there was already a pony sitting down. “Well, princesses. Welcome back, I suppose. And I see that you're bringing someone with you,” said the mare. “Leave her alone, Lemon Drop.” “Fine, fine. After all, I wouldn't want to lose your respect, Princesses Luna.” She snickered. “Enough. We are here for the final test on Project X, and that is what shall be done.” Twilight looked at Celestia, who just shook her head. She watched as the younger alicorn poured something into a cup, and gave it to Lemon Drop. She made an unpleasant face as she downed the glass. Author's Note I tried. If any of you see this, I'd appreciate help on the Princesses' speech. Thanks! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 “Wereponies, as we call them, are traditionally creatures of the night. While most creatures built like this consistently keep their form, wereponies are different in that they resume their true form during the day.” “How do you know all this?” “Once, it a time a while ago, wereponies lived among us regular ponies. Unfortunately these creatures had died out. As such, we made it our goal to revive the species.” “Our attempts hadn't worked until recently. Fortunately, to aid the process, Luna had known a werepony -the last werepony, in fact-. Knowing of his race's death, he shared secrets of the race.” “Today we share his secrets with you. First, we shall explain the most basic function- regeneration. While ponies do not naturally have such a skill, wereponies were always able to heal quickly without much pain. It was said that you could break a bone and a week later you'd have everything like nothing had happened. “Another function- though less basic- is the ability to hear better and stronger that before. A pin could drop in a room of clatter and noise and you'd still hear it clear as day. This, along with the regeneration, still affects you even in your previous form. “Now to the more... complex things. On the full moon, wereponies would fully transform into a wolf. While you'd still keep your thoughts and essence, you would no longer be a pony or half-pony. Instead of our language, you'd speak that of the wolves. I hate to recommend it, but you might either want to stay with Fluttershy or to stay in the Everfree Forest during this time. The opposite is true on a empty moon. You'd hold no wolf or wolf-like qualities at all.” Author's Note This one is... shorter than the others. I did purposefully do the quotation mark thing. Those last 3 paragraphs are all Luna.
