Chapter 1
The Spell

"Hmm, let me see," Celestia said as she flipped through the pages of the spell book."Ah, here we are," she had found the next set of spells. "spells to summon." she read out squinting and moving closer to the in her magical grip.

"Summoning spells are of high level difficulty, and I might be exhausted after just one. In fact m already feeling a bit tired. I might need your assistance if you don't mind." Sombra replied to his sister.

"We can take a break if you want." She stated.

"No, it's fine, with your help I can do a few more without break." Sombra's magic was significantly stronger than his two sister's magic. They were jealous of the fact and Sombra loved it. Not that it matters that much. Right?

"Alright," Celestia agreed as she trotted up to Sombra. They did two spells that summoned a banana and a funny colorful hat that had a pointed tip at the top. Celestia was hungry so she ate the banana and Sombra put on the hat for amusement. They laughed for a moment before continuing on to another spell. "Summon a child," the book read. "This ones gonna take a lot of power. It'll probably drain us both."

"I was getting ready to take a break anyway," the dark stallion said. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be," she stated as they both activated their magic and aimed it at the floor in front of them. They both stood strong for at least 5 seconds. As Celestia was just about to run out of power, a large explosion sent them flying.

The sound that resonated was deafening and it rang out through the entire castle. "AHHHHHHHH!" They both screamed as they were flying through the air. The scream didn't last very long as they soon collided with a wall and were both knocked out cold.

Celestia awoke with a massive amount of pain in her head and a bit of disorientation. She could hear a faint sound of a foal crying. She didn't know if it was actually a foal or she just hit her head that hard that she was hearing things. "OhhhOwww, Som...Sombra?" As she slowly faded back into consciousness she could definitely hear the cries and now knew she wasn't hearing thing's. She quickly got up, she was a bit wobbly but was able to stand. She could barely see due to the smoke."Som*cough*bra?" She coughed out. She started searching for the source of the cries and for Sombra. She had seen a dark mass on the floor and quickly ran to it. "Sombra?! Sombra!! She shouted out, shaking him to wake up.

He stirred "Ohhhurggg," he grumbled. His eyes then quickly shot open and he jumped up looking around him. Relief came over Celestia and she immediately knew what he was looking for and began searching for it too. Seconds later as the smoke cleared Sombra called out for his sister. "Sister! Come here, quickly!" Celestia immediately went to where her brother was as Luna literally burst through the door to see what caused the explosion

"What happened?!" She asked as soon as got through the door. "Are you okay? Is that a foal?" she asked again with concern instead of shock.

"We're both fine, it was just..." Celestia stopped when she had seen what Sombra had called her over for. "Wha... What is it?" Celestia asked, mouth agape, all emotion in her head replaced with suprise.

"I'm not... not sure. It looks like a... Small, hairless, ape?" Sombra guessed as Luna trotted up beside them and joined them in the suprise. Celestia left them and quickly returned with a blanket.

"We can't just leave it there," she said as she used her magic to pick it up and wrap it in the blanket. She then started to continuously rock it back and forth until it stopped crying."There we go," she said softly."Here." She handed the tiny alien creature over to Luna.

"Aww, look at it's pudgy little face!" Luna said making a funny face at what seemed to be an alien equivalent to a foal. "How'd it get here?" Luna asked realizing she had no clue where this thing came from.

"Celestia and I had been casting a spell, I had thought it failed because of a large explosion..."He explained.

"Explaining what you heard." Celestia added.

"Obviously your assumptions were wrong, unless this was not supposed to be the result of the spell? Luna asked.

"No, I think this was supposed to be the result. So do we sent it back?" Celestia said, then noticed that Sombra had left and was now looking in the book

"Uhh, I don't think there is a way to send it back." He exclaimed

"What? There's no counter-spell? No way to reverse it? She asked, shocked

"It doesn't say here, so there's no easy way at least." Sombra kept calm on the outside but on the inside he was on the verge of panic, he hadn't dealt with anything like this before and didn't even know how to go about dealing with something like this.

"What do we do?" Luna asked, concerned.

"We obviously can't just give a alien creature that no one has ever seen before to an orphanage." Celestia said, she already knew what they would have to do. Sombra turned away from the book and spoke up.

"We'll just have to raise it ourselves," he said confidently. Celestia and Luna both looked up at him in a bit of surprise, both of them knowing his nature. "We can't send it back and we can't give it away. There are no other options," he finished.

"What about the other ponies? We can't just hide a living being from everyone." Luna contributed to the argument.

"There's not many places we could hide it in castle back home." Celestia added.

"Then we'll keep it here, in the castle. Blocked off by the public once we populate this place." Sombra said. He knew one of them would have to stay.

"One of us will have to stay then, we can't risk someone knowing this besides us" Luna exclaimed.

"I'll do it." Celestia said quickly.

"No I'll do it. You and Luna are the most influential back home, and im the least. This place hasn't been populated yet and it gives me a chance to be influential, to start off fresh."

"Are you sure you're up for it brother?" Luna asked, knowing he wasn't good with that kinda stuff.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine"

And that finished the conversation. And so, their castle was renamed "The Castle of the Royal Pony 'Sisters'" and Sombra stayed in The Crystal Empire to rule over and raise a child in hiding. At least until it got older.
