Author Note: the first two chapters were meant to be short because it's just the back story. For my next chapters I will aim for 5-10 thousand words, but hope you enjoy! /)^3^(\

Big Macintosh got up, and as quick as a flash, adrenaline kicked into his bloodstream like Pinkie Pie eating a cake, it was really that fast.

He shouted at His mum, which quickly caught her off-guard. AppleJack saw her opportunity and wrestled her to the ground, knocking off most of the items from the mantle-piece of the fireplace, including a wood holder, some wood, and a brass fire poker. AppleJack's quick move was quickly followed by Big Macintosh attempting to save the small remains of the escape plan, but just as he reached it, He heard AppleJack shouting "OUCH!",

He quickly turned around, to see Sour Apple grasping onto AppleJack in a headlock and then, his own mother, Sour Apple said to him,

"Big Macintosh, Son, you're old enough to make choices for yourself now. It's AppleJack or your escape. Choose Very wisely, you see, if you choose escape, I could, shall we say, 'slip' and 'accidentally' crush your sister's windpipe.

Or, you could push the rest of your plan in the fire and AppleJack here goes free. Remember. Choose wisely. Family or freedom."

Big Macintosh was fed up now and had had enough.

"Mother," he replied calmly,

"Yes?"  she asked, puzzled yet remaining serious.

"May I choose both?" he asked very casually. Too casually.

"Both!? Both!!? Who the bucking hay do you think you are? Princess Celestia!?"

"Eenope, just a young colt who knows what he wants."

As quick as a flash, he kicked a piece of wood at Sour Apple's snout, narrowly avoiding AppleJack, but bounced off after the clearly painful impact back into the air, vertically. He quickly used the momentum of the kick to carry himself into a parkour styled corkscrew-backflip, picking up the wood holder with his mouth in the process due to being so close to the floor and managed to swing it like a baseball bat after touching down on the ground once again to hit the piece of wood again at Sour Apple knocking her out in the process. She

let go of AppleJack because of it and the young filly was gob-smacked.

"Big Mac... how did you-"

She was cut off by her brother stating that "it doesn't matter right now", but he soon to make sure that she understood that they had to leave right now.

"AJ, grab your little sister, we're leaving NOW. No questions." He said firmly.

"But Mac, what about the plan!?"

"Look, I said no questions, Mum'll be conscious in, let's see... 30 minutes tops? We have to go NOW. If she finds us, who knows what'll happen. She's an abusive mother with a long history of Violence, Alcohol, and aggression. I don't understand how you keep forgetting this!"

AppleJack nodded her head. She grabbed AppleBloom and gave her mother one last kiss, since she knew she would never see her again. At least, that's what she thought.

The three sneaked out of the house, it was late evening, around 8:30PM, so not many ponies were out at this time. Big Macintosh had managed to grab half of his mothers bits that she had in her purse, which was around 280 bits. He took half since he still had a little bit of sympathy for her, since she was his mother and all. He also carried plenty of bottles of water and some rations.

They walked the streets of Bristol, which was famous for it's country style origins, and it's wide range of ciders, which were littered around their' house they once lived in.

Big Macintosh decided to go into their' local shop and buy a complete map of Equestria, a compass, a large tent, bedding, and a little snack, which came to 30 bits, leaving them with 250 bits.

After leaving Bristol, they decided to head towards Canterlot, ideally so that

they could catch the friendship express all the way to ponyville. This journey would take around 29 days, so they knew that they should hurry up and stop wasting time.

After around 30 minutes of walking, AppleJack started to doubt their idea of ever leaving.

"Er, Big Mac?" she asked worryingly,

"Eeyup?" he replied in his trademarked response.

"I'm not thinking this wus such uh good idea, Brother. I mean, what if something were to happen to us?"

"Don't worry, lil Sis, that thing earlier was the art of self defence that I've been practicing for a few years now, just in case I, or we for that matter, needed it."

"Well uh, thanks. I'm so glad I have a brother like you!" she grabbed him with a tight hug, and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, followed by extreme blushing from Big Macintosh.

"Hey AppleJack, do you think we should set up camp for tonight? You look sleepy."

"You bet! I'm not tired! I'm just fine thank you very much." she said firmly, but then yawned quietly.

"Oh sister, you never fail to make me laugh!" Big Mac chuckled,

"Hey! I am not tired! AppleBloom is asleep on my back, after all, yawning is infectious!" the young filly tried to convince her brother, but she was a bad liar and she knew it.

"OK sister, but I'm going to set up anyway, I'm starting to feel drowsy, and we need as much energy as possible for tomorrow, since we have a lot of distance to travel! "

Big Mac and AppleJack started to set up their' tent. After 20 minutes of failing, having sword fights with the poles and actually setting it up like the manual said, they'd done it. They took a few steps backwards to try and admire their' creation, but the darkness was overwhelming.

Big Mac picked up AppleBloom from the floor and laid her in the bed with him, whilst AppleJack got her turn of having a room to herself. They all quickly fell asleep after the eventful day and remained asleep until the very next day. But they all woke up to a surprise, a very friendly surprise too.
