Romance of the seven hearts

Twilight stood in front of me, ready to help me test out the new gender swapping spell.

"Whenever you are ready, and remember not to focus on looks this time."

"Right, I remember, but you did look funny."

"Don't remind me.” Twilight growled.

Concentrating on my horn, I focused on bringing in a male Twilight, as my horn began a low humming.

When I felt ready, I bathed Twilight in a cloud of blue magick. Soon I couldn't see her at all, and after a minute or two, I worried I botched the spell again.

"Rarity, I feel strange - I."

*boom*

There was a small explosion as the magick overloaded.

* cough* * cough*......"Uh, I don't think it worked Elusive." A deep Stallions voice said.

"Who's Elusive? Twilight, are you okay? SPEAK TO ME!"

"Twilight?” came a puzzled  response. “My name is not Twilight.”

The smoke cleared at last.

I was glancing into an almost mirror image of my former friend, but with a few key differences.

My excitement was so high I couldn't help but squeal like a filly.

"Oooooohhhhh my gosh, ohhh my gosh, Twilight, you’re a Stallion."

"Owe, easy with the whining, and I already said, MY NAMES NOT TWILIGHT!"

"Well, then you look amazingly like her clone.” I joked.

He sighed. "Look, whoever you are, my name is Dusk Shine, and what name may I call you?"

"Rarity."

"Okay, Rarity, perhaps the two of us can figure this out together. The last thing I remember, was my friend Elusive, practicing a gender swapping spell for his date with a human female named Jessica."

"Wow, I was just doing the same thing, except for my date with a Jesse."  I nervously replied.

Dusk shine paused to think for a minute.

"Hmmmm, tell me Rarity,  exactly what you did, spell wise, so I can try to figure this out."

"I did exactly as my friend, Twilight told me to, and focused on bringing in a male Twi--"

"Aha, THAT'S IT, I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!” Dusk Shine exclaimed in glee, as he cut me off mid sentence.

"What did I do wrong darling?"

"Rarity, we need to fix this fast. I don't want risk unbalancing our respective worlds, and I know just what to do."

Dusk Shine explained that my spell had worked, but instead of changing Twilight, it had instead teleported her male counterpart, and likely, Elusive made the same mistake.

"This will be tricky, because we must have to time the spell so that we don't end up with two ponies of different sexes in the same place."

"Wait, I have an idea, what if we count down from ten, and then I do the spell like you planned?"

Dusk Shine frowned for a minute. "How can you be sure the timing will be correct though?"

"Easy, we each think very similar to each other, so I would bet your Elusive is doing the exact same thing."

Dusk Shine smacked his chin. "Of course. Alright go ahead and cast the spell, after you count down."

I focused on the spell and held it as I counted down. "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, ZERO." I fired the spell at Dusk shine and just like Twilight, he was bathed in a thick blue aura.

*boom*

"Elusive, are you there?"

"Dusk Shine, did the spell not work?"

"Who...Rarity is that you? It's me, Twilight."

"Oh praise Celestia.” I cried  "Is, Dusk shine, or anypony else beside you?"

Twilight felt around for a minute, "No, just me."

"Good.” I sighed with relief.

"PERHAPS THIS SPELL SHOULDN'T BE USED YET.” We said in unison.

We both laughed, it was kind of funny after all.

"Yeah,  I am sorry, but that was just too risky, Rarity."

"No hurt feelings, I 'll try it out some other time. Besides, I have a few  other tricks."

"Alright, well, I am going to look for Jesse and Rainbow ."

"Yes, do make sure Rainbow Dash has not done anything too rash with him." We waved good bye to each other, and I went back into my boutique to clean up the mess.

Twilight trotted around looking every which way for the two. "Oh, where could they be?” she wondered aloud.

She was just on the verge of giving up, when she spotted them way off in the middle of the old stadium.

She paused to admire the scene, as she looked at the cute picture in front of her.

Rainbow Dash was facing to the right, with her face towards Jesse, and her wings wrapping around him .

Both of them had smiles, and every so often, Jesse would move back, then Rainbow would pull him back towards her with her wings.

They looked so in love, so blissful, that Twilight almost thought against waking them up.

I don't remember her being so happy like this, at least...not after Soarin died.

Twilight gave a mild grin.

"I bet, Jesse, must be something special to have broken Rainbow Dash out of her depression like that." She said to no one under her breath.  Slowly Twilight crept towards the two .  When she was about a foot away, she she stepped on a twig, making a loud crunching sound beneath her hoof.

Jesse stirred, and looked at Twilight, as he rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes.

"Wha...huh...Dusk Shine?"

Twilight froze. That was the name of her male counterpart from the other world, but how the hell did Jesse hear that word?

Jesse was now fully awake, and he took a better look at the panicked unicorn in front him."Twilight, what are you doing here?"

"I came to check up on you two, after all, you were both gone for the entire day, so I got worried."

"I can explain...see the-"

"Jesse, don't worry about it." I  said in soothing voice, cutting him off.

Jesse, looked me and said, "I had the strangest dream a minute ago."

"What was it about?"

"You promised you will not laugh?"

"I promise, I will not laugh." I replied.

"Well...see, I  dreamed that I was a woman, and was on date with Rainbow Dash, only she was a stallion, named Rainbow Blitz.  It was so real. It was as if I was actually there, and I also saw you as a Stallion as well, named Dusk Shine.  Twilight, after that dream, if I ever ask you, or any other mares for a BJ, just slap me on principal alone."

“I don't know, I may want to try that out sometime."  I said while winking seductively at Jesse.

Jesse just puked over on the side opposite Rainbow's face. "Not funny, Twilight, I had to see that from a very nasty view in that dream."

Jesse went on to describe seeing Dusk Shine, and Elusive, practicing the gender swapping spell, along with the mix up.

"Wow, that's some dream." I said. Oh wow, I can't believe he saw that much in a dream.

"Okay, well, I’m up, so do you think you can help me either find my cloths, or help me get some new ones?"

"Sure. Uh...sorry, Jesse your clothes are in pieces." I said as I spotted them.

Jesse tried to get up, but Rainbow's tight grip over him prevented him from moving. Jesse leaned towards Dashes ear and begged her to let go.

"Uh...Jesse needs his body back now, so if you could just..."

"...No, that's my teddy bear, and I am not letting go of Mr.Fluffykinstein."

She started to painfully squeeze Jesse, uncomfortably close to her."

RAINBOW DASH, WAKE UP NOW, YOU ARE STARTING TO CRUSH ME!"

Rainbow Dash opened up her left eye, annoyed at being screamed at. "No need to be so lou..."

"Holy, Luna..." she said as let go of Jesse turning red. "Sorry, Jesse, I guess I don't know my own strength."

Jesse took big gasps of air, as he heavily panted.   Once Jesse got enough air, he started to speak.

"Twilight, and Rainbow, listen VERY carefully to what I say next, and please...be honest. I have to know, why me, and why not someone else?"

I didn't know what to say, and neither did Rainbow. We silently stared at each other for a minute, and I racked my brain for something to say.

"Please, it's not that I am unappreciative, but I just have to know." Jesse begged.

"The free clothes, food, and so many other countless examples of generosity from not only you, but this entire town, why?”

“. I-it was a decree from Celestia."

"WHAT!?" Jesse screamed in disbelief. "Why would Cel-"

"Jesse, I will make you a deal,” Rainbow said, cutting him off, “if you finish dating Rarity, and Applejack, then can we talk  more about this?"

"No, I want some DAMN answers, and I want them now”! He demanded.

"Okay, I can't keep quiet about this much longer." I exhaustingly sighed.

"Jesse, listen, you are right, there is a reason why we picked you up, and also, you are not a normal human."

"What are trying to say?"

"Jesse, PLEAASSSSE  just trust us a little bit  longer, and I Pinkie promise on my life, that I will tell you everything after your next date is over." Rainbow Dash cried.

Jesse thought for a minute and said, "Alright, you win Ladies, but right after my next date, then you will explain...deal?"

"DEAL." We both said.

"Now, where should I get some clothing from?  A certain pony that I won't name...* cough * Dash, kind of tore off my former ones.”

"Why not just go back to Rarity’s? "

"Eh...sure why not. Thanks for the advice, Twilight." Jesse then walked towards Rarity's boutique, after we both explained where it was from he
