Roxy's Depression

I lie in the warm water thoughts racing threw my mind.

I look at the letter opener in my hand, I start to have second thoughts, but then the school bullies words echo in my head.

‘hey look! It’s the freak!’ ,

‘where’s your mommy belle? Oh! That’s right you don’t have one!’

and the most hurtful one of all

‘it’s no wonder your mom left, who would want an ugly, fat, depressed freak like you as a daughter anyway?’

That’s the last straw, all second thoughts were thrown out the window. I pick up the letter opener and bring it to my left wrist. I slowly run it across and watch as blood comes out of the wound. I smile as the feeling of pain replaces the numbness. I do the same to my right wrist and lean back into the water.

I close my eyes and peacefully fall into the dark abyss I call my mind.

After a while I start to feel light headed and drowsy.

Just as I loose consciousness I hear the door open, a gasp and my name.
