//-------------------------------------------------------// The Misadventures of Dinky Doo and Ruby Pinch -by Muffinmallow- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The One With Character Development //-------------------------------------------------------// The One With Character Development A lavender unicorn who goes by the name of Dinky Doo was eating a daisy sandwich under a tree at school. It was recess and everypony was either running around or sitting in place with friends. Not Dinky though; she was alone. That's what she thought until a light-rose unicorn filly approached her, "hello stranger." Dinky said. "Hello stranger? Gee no wonder other ponies avoid you," the other unicorn scoffed. "Ponies don't avoid me," she said defensively. "I just choose to be by myself. If you're just gonna pick on me, forget it. I'm tougher than you'd think." The nameless unicorn's ears flopped down, "I don't want to pick on you," she said apologetically. "I'm sorry for what I said. I forgot my lunch at home and you seem like the only pony nice enough to share at least a little bit of yours with me." "Actually," Dinky rummaged through her lunch bag. "I do have this." She pulled out a muffin and gave it to the unfortunate filly. She inspected the muffin and plainly said, "it's not even wrapped." "That's because it's homemade." She nibbled at it. A smile formed on her face and she scarfed the whole thing down. Dinky smirked. "That's anypony's reaction after having one of my mom's muffins for the first time." "Oh my gosh that was so good... what's your name?" "Dinky Doo." "Cool name, I'm Ruby Pinch." Dinky walked down the trail home with her sister, Tootsie Flute. She did her usual nonstop chatter, while Dinky ignored her. "Hey wait up!" They both turned around and saw Ruby coming up behind them. She squeezed in between them, "I thought friends wait for friends Dink." "Friends? Sorry I didn't-" "Do you see what I see Silver Spoon?" an obnoxious voice called out. "Do you mean the trio of blank flanks up ahead?" "Yes I do, don't they know they're losers." "Should we go tell them that?" "And more." Ruby looked back and prepared the worst curses she knew. "Ruby," Dinky interuppted. "Let it go." "Oh I'll let something go." She picked up a rock and threw it right at the bullies pursuing them. "Ow! You'll regret that you worthless trash." Ruby couldn't help but laugh at that remark. Dinky simply smiled and looked to her side. She saw a colt who was waving to her. She waved back. A stallion flew right above her head, landed next to him, and the two started conversating. She blushed, looked down at the ground, and walked away. Ruby caught up to her and asked, "who's the colt?" Dinky spoke quickly in a shrill voice, "what colt? I don't know who you're talking about!" "Y'know, the colt you went goo-goo eyes over just now, and don't play dumb." She sighed, "that's Rumble. He's a Pegasus, but I've never seen him fly." "Stop thinking about them!" Ruby snapped, causing Dinky to actually leave contact with the ground for a few seconds. "Colts are stupid and gross and you should stop thinking about them!" "I only think about him though." "Stop thinking about him, he's a part of the 'them' category!" "Okay okay." They arrived at a house, "well, see you tomorrow Ruby." She and Tootsie went to the house. Ruby watched as they walked. "Dang, Dinky's got a nice plot."
