Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,
Thank you for saving Equestria and saving all of us from what probably would be Tirek's oppressive rule right now. Unfortunately that isn't why I wrote to you, I come asking a request from you alone, as I believe that you are the only one besides the other princess' and a few bookish types that have long lived their lives recording history...and maybe Discord. My request actually isn't t remembered or be talked about like you and the esteemed royalty are, your majesty, my request is for you not cut our pay.
300 bits total a year isn't much to live on, it barely pays the bills and what's left over isn't enough to help spread our ears throughout this great nation. My colleagues have resorted to some lows to sustain us another year, but I fear that another cut to our funds will surely be the E..U.P.'s downfall, which isn't something I would expect it to end that way.

Twilight glanced at the letter again, a book on the history of the group in question right next to it. she had obviously intended to show it to her friends right away, but in truth she hadn't, knowing almost instinctively their answers. She was sure that Rainbow Dash was going to support the organization, her reasoning might fall along the lines of anything that the Wonderbolts came from would be slightly less awesome than them, but still worth saving. Pinkie Pie would support the action, obviously thinking that this small action would bring a smile to the poor group of ponies faces. Fluttershy would say yes, it was just a matter of how long it would take before she would speak up. Rarity was likely another yes, possibly sending a bag of bits to help the poor group, which would make Spike agree with her, Applejack would probably voice her concerns, before ultimately agreeing, and Twilight herself would herself would go with the majority vote on this one.
This wasn't however why Twilight withheld the information, the letter itself would bring out more questions from a few of the more vocal ponies of her council. Questions that followed the lines of 'Why are they getting a fund cut anyway?' The answer was relatively simple actually, after the forming of the Wonderbolts the E.U.P. just disappeared.
It wasn't intentional Twilight was sure of, but it wasn't the only thing that contributed to the groups downfall it was just the final nail in the coffin. What destroyed the group was infighting, jealousy, speciesism and betrayal. The tension finally came to a boiling point as the Wonderbolts were formed, whatever happened after that Twilight didn't know the book stopped after the Wonderbolts, like history forgot about them.
Twilight felt a slight compulsion to know why they stopped being significant, and like many of the compulsions Twilight had she needed to see it through and that meant visiting this Summer Breeze and hopefully find the answers she was looking for.
