Twilight was having a rather... strange dream, but it wasn't like any of the other dreams she's had any other night. This was different.
This particular dream was about oranges, that's right, oranges. Nothing but oranges. In this dream, Twilight was surrounded by thousands, possibly millions, of oranges. But, it was quite unexpected. All she was doing in her dream was reading a book about unicorn magic when all of a sudden, the book turned into an orange, along with her face.
Slowly, the dream began to fade. Twilight was returning back to normal when her mouth was being stuffed with thousands of oranges, the majority of them shoving into her throat and into her belly. And, that's when she woke up.
Twilight woke up covered in sweat as the sun reflected it's light from her bedroom window. She propped herself out of bed and walked down to steps towards the kitchen for breakfast. She licked her suddenly dry lips and opened one of the cupboards and levitated a glass. After pouring nearly half a glass of water, she took a few sips before immediately spitting it out into the sink.
Her pupils went small as she coughed into her elbow repeatedly in order to get the strange taste out of her mouth, however, ti was unsuccessful. For some odd reason, the water tasted like.... oranges. Twilight rubbed her chin in confusion before shrugging. Pehraps it was just from that strange dream she had last night.
Twilight poured another glass of water and chugged it down, before spitting it out into the sink again. It still tasted like oranges. She put the glass into the sink and walked back upstairs, where Spike was sleeping in his small basket.
Without any second thoughts, Twilight smacked the baby dragon in the face with a hoof, and watched Spike with angry eyes as he woke up, wondering on what just happened.
"What in the hay was that for, Twi? Did I do something wrong?" Spike said with a sleepy tone as he rubbed his tired eyes.
"This isn't funny, Spike!" Twilight growled at him.
The baby dragon started in confusion as he rubbed the cheek that Twilight slapped.
"What? I'm not laughing at all.. What are you even talking about?"
"Don't give me that tone, mister! Cause I know you did it!" The angry unicorn snorted, glaring at him. "What did you do this time?"
"What do you mean 'what did I do', all I did was do the chores I was listed and went to bed, I have no idea what you're talking about it." Spike reassured his snorted friend, a look of terror and confusion on his face.
"Well, if you didn't do it then, then explain on why the water from our sink tasted like oranges!" Twilight said, still snorting.
"Wait... what?" Spike said in confusion.
"The sink. When I woke up, I went to the kitchen to take a drink of water, and for some odd reason, the water tasted like oranges."
Twilight stared at her assistant, who still had a look of confusion on his face. Before she could yell at him again, the bay dragon fell onto the ground and started to laugh uncontrollably.
"Wait... are you saying that I changed our sink water into orange juice! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! That's like saying you just ate a stick of butter that tasted like soy!"
"Well... yes." Twilight said with an embarrassed smile, along with a hint of blush appearing on her cheeks.
"Oh," Spike suddenly said in a serious tone, her eyes full of tears from all of his laughing. "You're telling the truth! We better find a cure right away, and I know just the trick. This happened to Sweetie Belle a few weeks ago, she said that every time she ate or drank something, it would taste like marshmallows."
"Wait." Twilight said as she put a hoof on Spike's lips to hush him. "You seen this happen before!? Why didn't you tell me!"
"Because, every pony just thinks you're always overreacting to things anyway." Spike giggled after he shoved Twilight's mouth off of his lips. "Come on, I'll show you the book on how to stop this curse."
Spike walked down the steps on the library, with Twilight following him from behind. They walked to one of the various bookshelves and the little fat baby dragon pulled out a book and opened to a page entitled: 'How to Get A Strange Taste Out of Your Mouth'
He handed the book to Twilight and waited patiently for Twilight to finish reading it.
"So, all I have to do is eat a piece of orange-related food? That's it?" Twilight asked as she stared at the book in confusion.
"Yep. And, we have plenty of orange juice and oranges in the kitchen. So, let's stop talking and get eating!"
After nearly half of hour of eating, drinking, along with moments of gagging and puking, the taste of oranges still couldn't escape from Twilight, and as she was just about to take another bite of an orange slice, the unicorn gagged and threw the slice into the trash can.
"It's useless, Spike," Twilight said with her head down. "We've tried everything from eating, to drinking, even to going to the Orange Festival in Manehatten, and I still can't get this taste out of my mouth!"
She waited for a response from her little dragon friend, only to find him on the floor, gripping onto his little chest, obviously trying to get something out of his body. Twilight picked up her assistant with her magic, making him stand on the wooden library floor, where he burped out a letter before collapsing on the floor, groaning in pain.
The letter lied still on the ground, waiting to be picked up. The curious unicorn levitated the letter and opened it, wondering on what Celestia needed so badly that she's couldn't even do it herself. Perhaps she had to have a basket of bananas delivered to her, but whatever it was, it was important.
The letter opened and Twiliight read the letter slowly before her mouth hung open, dumbfounded and surprised. The letter shocked Twilight so much that she was lost for words, the letter read:
Dear Twilight Sparkle,
Gotcha!

P.S: Hope you have the day off today, because I have an important task for you.
