a unicorn named spark lives in the distant past and one day wonderes why the sun and moon act in the odd way they do. he goes around the city and learns of the legend of two alicorns that could move the sun and moon. he goes on an epic quest to try and find the shards of the sky, legendary artifacts said to bring the celestial being forth to rule the land and bring an end to the caotic rain of discord.

*yawn*

I got up from my relatively small bed and pulled open the curtains I winced at the never ending sunlight

i am a blue unicorn with black hair and a small streak of glow in the dark style green through my mane and tail

"I wonder why the sun is like that" I said to no one in particular

I shut the blinds again and walked over to the table where I used my magic to make a bowl of cereal. Munching contently at the sugary food when a knock at the door interrupted my daydreaming mid bite. I stood up from the little dining table and walked to the door." who is it?" I asked

"Its jack"

"What do you need" I said opening the door to my hovel like house.

"Well I was hoping to talk to you"

"About what" I said bring the carton of milk over to my mouth where I took a good gulp before I wiped my mouth with my leg and put the milk back.

"Well it's kind of a secret, can I come in"

"Sure" I said shutting the door behind him

"Look spark," he said sitting down" we've know each other since Jr. High so I can tell you anything right?"

"I guess"

"Well recently I was browsing through the library and I came across this book of myths and legends. I thought it might be funny to read about what the crazies believed. Then I came across a legend I had never seen before."

"What does this have to do with me?"

"I'm getting to that. The legend said that there were these ten stones all across the world called shards of sky. The legend says that when the five shards of night meet that they turn into the celestial being that controls the moon, and when the five shards of day meet that they will turn into the celestial being of day. The two of these beings control the night and day and they may even be able to get rid of discord! I decided I was going to find them and help get rid of discord. I came here because I'm leaving tomorrow and wondered if you wanted to come with me?"

"Don’t you think that is a bit crazy?"

"Well initially yes but once I told my dad he gave me this and told me to keep it safe on my journey, and that it was the only night shard he could find. Also that he had though the next one was somewhere up north in some temple." he said opening his saddlebag and pulling out a black shard that looked like there was lightening trapped inside of it.

"Woa" I said looking at it "can I touch it?"

"Sure, just be careful" he said as he set the shard on the table

I reached out a hoof and when I touched it. The second my hoof touched the shard it broke into shards of crystal and the lightening contained inside made a b-line for my forehead. All I remember after that is a searing pain and darkness.
