Raining Thunder A Rainbow x Thunderlane Story
Pacing in a well lit room, Rainbow Dash waits staring at the door to the Commander's Office. She had been waiting only a few minutes, but this was her first mission as a Wonderbolt Reserve she felt nervous. "Rainbow Dash!" A mysterious voice came from behind. She turned to see her crush... Thunderlane.
"Oh.. Hey, Thunderlane. You waitin' for your mission too?" Rainbow Dash said as a drop of sweat slowly dripped off her face. "Why do I feel like this every time he comes around, he doesn't feel the same way. Body stop feeling this way towards Thunderlane, its getting embarrassing! You are not the same filly that had a huge crush on him. Just STOP IT" She muttered in her mind.
"Rainbow Dash, we were all sent here at the same time, you already know that." He said with a sarcastic tone. Rainbow Dash's heart fluttered, she couldn't help it he looked so handsome when he was sarcastic. She quickly changed the subject so the air wouldn't feel as awkward.
"So... Um... Thunderlane how are you and Blossomforth? Things working out O.K.?" The cyan made quickly regretted the topic she hated for 2 years bringing it up in this very conversation. The mare pitied herself.
"We're doing fine, why do you ask?" The dark gray stallion asked looking puzzled. Rainbow Dash's heart started pumping, he asked her a question she wasn't ready to answer.
"Um... Well... I -" The cyan pony trailed off as the Spitfire came out with one of her assistants. "Well, you little fillies think you can do a great job on this easy task? Huh?" She taunted. As a captain she had to build character in her future Wonderbolts.
"Yes ma'am!" Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash said in unison. "Well I guess I can tell you what your mission today is? Your mission is to take this very important letter to our Manehattan Branch. Can you three do that?" Spitfire said as she stared them down. Glaring made Rainbow Dash feel more competitive. "Yes ma'am!" The pegasi said, as another walked in. It was Blossomforth came in. "Hey guys... Um what are we doing?" Spitfire walked away from the two, and started walking slowly towards Blossomforth. "Why are you late?" The blaze yellow pegasus grunted. Blossomforth started to sweat as she was put under the spotlight, but didn't crumble.
"Hey, hey, hey. Spitfire this is her first time being late." A voice said from behind Spitfire. It was Thunderlane. He had to stand up for Blossomforth, she was his mare friend. "She was only a few minutes late, lay off." The dark gray pegasus said getting beside the eggshell colored pegasus. Rainbow Dash felt more and more jealous every time he looked at Blossomforth.
"What does she have that I don't?" The cyan pegasus said to herself furious at this whole situation. "A sleek body, great personality, is that not enough!" She quickly pressed down the anger, and let it go. She then said, "Let's just get that letter, and be on our way." She said to hoping that will solve everything. Spitfire turned around and walked into her quarters with her assistant following. "Whew. Let's just get out of here." Thunderlane said as he opened the door. The three pegasi flew away. They stopped at there homes to get bits and their saddlebags.
"This trip would be 3 days long." Blossomforth said as they started their trip. While they flew Thunderlane pondered on something, then he finally asked.. "What made you so late back there?" She looked down at the tiny buildings, then looked at Thunderlane.
"I was.... um...in your room trying to find you to tell you "I love you", but I couldn't find you and I thought you had went away because you're always in you room in the morning. So I waited, and waited, and waited until I it was 9:30, and I relized that I missed when she called our team. So I rushed to the Camander's Quarters, and tried to play it safe and be cool, and you know the rest."
Thunderlane stared into her eyes, feeling her pain he came closer, and placed his wing on top of her. "It's alright, I left early so I could get the mission report early." The dark gray pegasus reassured. Rainbow Dash's heart broke into many tiny pieces. She wanted to be under his wing, feeling his warm love. But she was just on the side a third wheel of the three.
"Damn you Blossomforth. He's supposed to be mine!" She muttered under her breath.
Thunderlane turned to the cyan pegasus, "what was that Rainbow Dash?" He asked with a confused look. Rainbow Dash had to be quick to come up with an answer.
"Oh I said look at that awesome fort! It is very fine!" She pointed to a old abandoned fort at the stump of a mountain.
"Okay.. If you say so Rainbow Dash." He said said unsure how to put it any other way. "If this keeps up I'll look like a complete idiot!" She screamed to herself, she couldn't help how she felt about Thunderlane, he made her insane. Inside and out.
They had been flying for about 4 hours. "Let's find a place to rest our wings." Blossomforth said straining to flap her wings. "There's a Inn right over there." She pointed to a small motel just to her right side. The three all started to descend, and reached the grass safely, and started their trot towards the lobby entrance.
"So how much will it be for just 1 night?" Thunderlane asked the secretary from outside a glass window."It will only be..." She said looking at her clipboard.
"Only 100 bits, will you pay now or will you pay before you leave?" She said to the dark gray stallion.
"We"ll pay now." He gathered his bits and the two mares. He handed them to the secretary. She gave them a card key to their room. Luckily it was on the bottom floor, so in the morning they could continue their journey to Manehattan. When they got to their door, Thunderlane slid the card key into a lock, and opened the door. "Wow! Classy." Rainbow Dash said as she walked in and closed the door. There was two beds, decorated with flower pillows and a flower blanket to go with it. There was a old fashioned lamp that was lit and had a sculpted Celestia on it.
"Cool." Thunderlane said as he jumped on the right side of a bed.". Blossomforth flew to the side of him, and snuggled beside him. "We should probably get some rest, we have so much to do tomorrow." Rainbow Dash said to avoid any awkwardness. Thunderlane and Blossomforth snuggled more, and drifted off to sleep, leaving Rainbow Dash on the other bed feeling so lonely. She slowly cried herself to sleep thinking to herself.
"He was mine for the taking, she came outta nowhere and stole him! Even though he was never my colt friend, he was my best friend for the longest. Thunderlane, I wish you could just read my mind, and tell me that you love me. Then I wouldn't have to feel this way.... I love you." The cyan pony softly said as a tear drop flowed down the side of her face. She slowly drifted to sleep. [/size] [/size][/size]
