//-------------------------------------------------------// Breaking a Spirit -by Poison heart- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 It was a full moon night in Canterlot the star where at play as the all twinkled in a beautiful symphony of sleep.  The palace garden sat  still aside from a young stallion pacing back and forth along the ponds edge.  His route had all but killed the grass below him he had been patiently passing in this same area for hours occasionally stopping to kick a few pebbles into the pond. He looked to the clock nearest to confirm the hour of the night; 1 o’clock am. This stallion was the prince himself, Blueblood, and he was awaiting arrival of his lover of which he had grown familiar with since the last grand galloping gala. Both agreed that that it be best to keep their relationship a secret, hence there meeting at the late hours of the night, and he honestly preferred it this way as during the day time she and him would have been constantly harassed by the paparazzi. Blueblood found himself once again in front of his personal rose bush(one he had planted when he and his aunt were both in a gardening phase) when he finally heard the tell-tale flap of wings that caused him to turnaround in a flourish (whilst plucking a rose of the shrub). “Good morning my dearest Lily” Lily pond was a light blue Pegasus with draping white hair. Her cutie-mark was a pink lily on its pad, a fitting name for a lovely mare as herself. She and Blueblood had been seeing each other for a good four months. Nonetheless the two were infatuated and always happy to see each other. This night was not the case. Lily landed and just kept staring at the ground. With a heavy sigh she looked up to him. “Good morning Blueblood...” After a while of dating it became a sense when he felt she was upset. The words she spoke carried very little life and Blueblood knew something was amiss. “Is something wrong darling?” “It’s…it’s complicated” “You can tell me anything love I’m here” Love, the words triggered her mind again. these words were like poisoned honey, so very sweet but ultimately killed her to the core. she looked at him with her turquoise eyes as they began to fill with tears. “I can’t tell you, but I do love you and it hurts me to say I got to leave” The words were half lost in her sudden sobbing but they were still heard to Blueblood. It hit like a ton of bricks but it did not stop him from pulling his crying mare closer. “Hey love, I don’t think I heard correctly could you perhaps repeat that” Even through her weeping she looked at him and rubbed into his chest closer. She couldn't repeat, but she had too. It’d kill her but she had to. Steadying herself she pushed herself away form, and turned her back to him. “I’m sorry, I love you, so much but I can’t stay I can’t hurt you and if I stay that is all I’m going to do.” Blueblood was taken aback by what she had said “but, I don’t understand if you love me why leave me, I love you too, what’s wrong did I do something bad to you?” “No Blueblood, you've done nothing wrong but I will. That’s why I need to get away from you.” “Lily please, I don’t care what you think you may do to hurt me I’d with stand it for you. I’d go to Tartarus and back for you” It was at this point Blueblood had a few tears form in his eye but they had not yet left. Still, it hurt Lily to turn and see this. She immediately looked forward and with pain so obvious in her soul it caused her voice to crack a little as she said the thing she didn't wish to say “Please, just forget all about me and pretend I never happened” Before any further arguments could proceed, she took off as fast as her body could allow her. Blueblood watched until her form disappeared into the night sky then fell onto his knees. Silently the tears rolled down from his eyes as he stared at the part of the sky that swallowed her.  Little wet blotches form below his head where the tears fell. On a faraway plateau, Not too far from Canterlot but far enough that it was away from any guard patrol. Two black chitin clad figures stood vigilant. One was watching the sky while other watched the ground. The sky watcher noticed something in the sky and nudged the other as a Light blue pegasus mare landed next to them. Both bowed immediately as Lily’s appearance burned away with a flare of green fire.” “The mission has failed.” She said as her form under went a transformation. her body grew taller and slender while her light blue coat hardened into her chitin, her mane dropped longer and took on a cyan-green color. at the end her eyes were the only things to not change “Return to the hive so we can re-evaluate the plans.” “Yes my queen Chrysalis, as you command” one of the creatures said as he rose from his bow They turned and walk off but one turned to Chrysalis, “your majesty I can’t help but wonder, were you crying?” Chrysalis immediately looked away from the changeling soldier before she answered “n-no, I have not. It’d do you well not to ask any further questions, I have very little patience this night” The changeling immediately straightened out at this, “yes my queen my apologies” and he scurried off to keep up with his partner. Meanwhile chrysalis stared at Canterlot as her already puffy eyes filled with more tears “I’m sorry my love, I truly and sincerely am.” She stood there for a good few minutes just looking at the palave that she had been at not even ten minutes ago. Her tears fell down the sides of her faces and formed little wet spots on the floor. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 The night was entering the twelfth our as a disgraced prince was reaching for another bottle of wine. The evening had not been nice to him. after getting a scathing reaction from a white unicorn mare she also proceeded to ruin his suit. He didn't care much for the loss of the suit, It was tacky anyway. He silently was happy he wasn't wearing the pristine black tuxedo that lily-... She bought him. Bringing his hooves to his head he regretted remembering her, as it brought pain back. with another swig of wine he washed it away as fast as he could without damaging his body. A knock came at the door and with a well established heaviness in his head he cast his gaze over to it. “come in” the door opened letting the torchlight flood in. In the doorway stood a recognizably tall silhouette. “Blueblood, I believe you know why I've come?” “hello aunty that fact i’m able to know shows I've haven’t drank enough but yes i already figured out” “Oh nephew, what has caused you to behave this way” The prince shifted at his desk.He rose but overwhelmed himself and collapsed. no looking at the floor he let out a sigh. “You know I care for you? why have you been behaving so recklessly Lately, that young mare was actually the element of generosity” He looked up from to floor to her, pupils shrinking at the realization “Oh great, if I had known I would have just turned her down politely. Yet another thing I messed up” “I doubt you should be doing that to any mare at all Blueblood” “I’m sorry aunty, its just getting worse now. all these young mares throwing themselves at me. all they ever want is just the title. and i refuse to be some trophy husband meal ticket.” “Well as the situation is Blueblood, you’re not exactly open.” the prince rolled over to the and took another swig. “I miss her aunty” Celestia’s expression turn to a more compassionate form. In a gentle stride over to him, she wrapped her wing around her nephew. “dear nephew, let it out.” The prince buried his head against her side. tears form and slid down his face as he returned the hug. “I am lost with my life, I don’t know what to do” ______________________________________________________________________________ On a familiar hill near Canterlot a Orange pegasus mare continuously launched volley after volley of green aura magic into a tree. scorching it further each time. Screaming “Dirty, Trashy, Impudent, Insufferable, Intolerable, Pig-faced. Tick-ridden, Hussy!!!” With the last word she incinerated the tree leaving only a scorch mark behind. Behind her two sleek black figures trembled at the sight. “Your majesty-” She snapped to the changeling, eyes aflame with an intense green fire. baring razor sharp teeth. Following the unspoken command the soldier withdrew, now completely at tremble. “Keep it together Crysalis, you must let these feeling for him go” she thought to herself “For the sake of the mission. But I swear she is lucky I didn't kill her there after flinging cake at him” ______________________________________________________________________________ Blueblood awoke the next morning and looked at the empty wine bottle on desk. aware of the pounding his head he got up and trotted to the window. He let the sun burn his eyes before moving away. Making way for the door he caught something out the corner of his eye. A note. Dear Nephew, It may seem like you’re going nowhere but a lot of ponies make a difference with the right kind of guidance. I suggest you may find this at an old academy you dropped out of. I suggest you return. Both you sister and your old friend think this is a good idea. Your Aunt, Celestia He stared at the words for a bit, but eventually a smile formed. After casting a hangover cure and taking a shower Blueblood left his manor knowing it would be sometime before he returned. After trotting at a fast paced for awhile he came to the building he was looking for and entered. At the desk a stallion looked up with a stoic look-over he grunted. “what can I do you for your highness?” “I’d like to re-enlist into the Royal Guard”
