The Lives of the Background 6
"MAY CELESTIA BURN YOUR HAIR WITH HER SUN!" Yelled Vinyl as she knocked furiously on the door to the bathroom. Her hair still in disarray as she could not get to her usual gel and hair products.
"Buck where are my glasses." Vinyl looked around but then once again smacked her own face in remorse as she realized that she had left those in the bathroom too.
"HEY PRINCESS I NEED TO USE THE BATHROOM TOO!" Vinyl yelled this time levitating a lamp to knock on the door, or rather break down the door.
On the other side of the door stood a rather calm Octavia. She began putting a black mascara on her eyelashes. You cannot rush what needs time to perfect she thought to herself as she slowly layered the makeup.
Vinyl let out a large groan as she put the lamp back into it place. This was the 6th day in a row she would be late due to her roommates "perfection" as she called it.
Vinyl took a glance around the room and realized a way to get back at her roommate, and to get her out of the bathroom.
Vinyl lightly trotted to her outlets that lined the wall. She quickly went to each plugging in multiple devices. Her phone, her music player, her extensions to attach to more equipment, her stereo, her turntable, her lights the list was endless.
Octavia now beginning to put a light shade of lipstick puckered her lips to allow for better cover. Half way through she realized that her toothbrush had fallen off the sink counter. She quickly picked it up to see even more things had began to fall of the counter. She looked at the items closely to realize that the items where vibrating off the table as they interacted to the growing low hum that emanated off the walls..
"Oh no." Octavia thought a moment to late. As she realized that the bass was about to drop.
"Wub-a-dub-dub Motherfuckers!" yelled a recording of vinyl.
Next came an ear shattering bass drop. Octavia slipped and fell on her flank as the room seemed to shift underneath her. The medicine cabinet opened up and all its contents spilled on top of the grey mare. A bottle of lavender perfume spilling all over the right hoof of the cellist.
The bathroom door swung open with a slam. That is if the music hadn't drowned out every other sound. Octavia walked up to the DJ turntables where Vinyl Scratch was busy rocking out to the beat. She winced as the music seemed to resonate in her chest.
"STOP THE MUSIC!!" Yelled Octavia.
Vinyl paused her headbanging to levitate her headphones.
"I KNOW ITS GREAT RIGHT!!" Yelled back Vinyl ignoring Octavia weather or not she heard her.
Octavia lifted Vinyl's headphones to get better passage to her ear "VINYL STOP THE MUSIC RIGHT NOW OR I WILL!!" Octavia yelled loud as she could.
Vinyl obviously not getting the hint of a threat, yelled back.
"YEA I THINK IT CAN GO LOUDER."
Octavia saw the DJ's magic around a nob on the table labeled volume. At the moment it was set to 6 and rising. The nob turned to 7 to 8. Octavia have had enough of this.
Vinyl gave a quick glance before seeing a large grey hoof swinging down in a karate chop motion. Then she felt a large pain on her forehead as a the blow was delivered. Her hooves went to her forehead rubbing it in pain. She felt a small fluid on her hooves and realized that she now smelled of lavender. Vinyl looked to see a cross Octavia tapping away on the desk. Hair now in disarray lipstick half finished. She was tapping her hoof on the table with a terrible threat in her eyes.
Vinyl gave a quick smile and a squee and made a straight path toward the bathroom. Slamming the door and locking it.
Octavia stood there, mouth gaping couldn't believe that once again she had been fooled. She quietly shook her head with a smile. She went for the control panels and turned down the speaker volume. She took Vinyls headphones to place it over her own ears. Looking back at the bathroom making sure it wouldn't open she turned the volume up on the headphones.
Before being lost in the music she could hear Vinyl within the bathroom slip and fall with a crash.
"Awww great!" Said a sarcastic and annoyed Vinyl.
Vinyl smiled as she laid on the cold floor. She enjoyed the smell of lavender and seeing Octavia mad. Just as Octavia was smiling happy to listen to Vinyl song along with watching her DJ.
