Alicorn Sword: An Equestrian Adventure

We finally arrived in Dodge, the entire town was a flourish of activity, but once again as soon as i stepped into the day light, ponies screamed and ran.

The first sight that caught my eye was a large volcano in the distance.

"That is the badlands" said Rarity

"I can see" i said staring in awe

"Well Rainbow and ah will go and get the town used to ya" Applejack smiled

"Great thanks" i smiled

The other 4 went off into the town, they all had their seperate things to do as i was told. So i began to explore the town myself.

It looked very much like a town from an old cowboy film from the 30's. Shacks, bars and all sorts of western style things were here.

As i walked further through the town i saw a large cloud of smoke coming from a nearby hill.

"I might as well see what this is" i said to myself, already on my way up.

The hill wasn't a hill at all, it was a volcano. Just then i saw one of the most bizarre creatures i had ever seen, whatever he was, he was taking a bath and saw me

"Oh i do say" he said before dissapearing and reappearing right next to me "I do apologise Sam i would've been ready had i known you were coming"

"How do you know my name?" i asked

"Well of course" the creature continued "I know everypony's name around here, oh where are my manners" he then shook me by the hand

"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Discord"

"Discord?" i asked unsure

"Indeed" Discord continued, then he pointed "That sword you've got there. It's very powerful don't you think?"

"Why yes" i said reaching for it

"No need to fear me" Discord went on "I'm no threat, just ask Fluttershy"

"Fluttershy knows you?" i said, stunned.

"She does" Discord said "Now this Equoliac that you're going to be taking on..." he dissapeared and reappeared again, this time back in the volcano "... He's quite a mighty one, as you already know, he's the one who originally owned that sword so i wouldn't get too confident that, that alone is going to save you... or the mane six"

I drew out the sword and slashed it around a bit.

"You see?" said Discord "Such power it has that you can almost feel it in your bones, but believe me when i say this has nothing up against Equoliac"

"Well, well then i'll just fire arrows at him" i cried

"Oh you can try" said Discord "But you will indeed fail without your friends help"

"Who said i didn't have my friends?" i asked but at that exact moment the three fillies came running in.

"Sam... SAM!"

"What's the matter?" i asked

"It's Applejack" said Applebloom "She's been captured"

"By who?" i asked

"A hideous monster" said the white one "He took her into that cave"

I looked and saw an incredibly dark cave

"Well you'd better go and save her then" smirked Discord before dissapearing altogether. I practically growled and drew my sword before heading into the cave.

Wiping several large cobwebs away i walked on down the dark passage.

'I wonder what kind of monster the white filly was on about?' i wondered but i tried not to think on such things, my friend was in trouble and i had to save her.

I soon came to a large room filled with old lanterns, i struck a flame using some wood from the floor and lit them.

Suddenly there was a rattle

"Sam?" I looked up and Applejack was in a wooden cage hanging from the roof.

"Hang on Applejack" i said "I'll be up there now..." but there was a rumbling and a large scattering and out of a tunnel at the other end of the

room came a giant, brown, hairy, eight legged Spider. 6 feet tall and 10 feet long, Applejack couldn't help but scream.

I took a slash at it with the Alicorn sword, but it jumped onto the opposite wall and crawled down again. I then shot an arrow into one of it's many eyes, it growled and crawled straight for me, but i soon settled it with the sword. Once again it jumped up, but i had no idea where it had gone. Suddenly i felt something big, and hairy land on top of me.

The spider grabbed me with it's legs shrieking like a banshee. I slashed it's legs with my sword and got up, the spider on the other hand did not. It had no legs anymore, then with one final jump i landed in the beasts head and made a squelch as i plunged the sword into it's brain.

Applejack had her hooves over her eyes and only opened them to pass me down a rope which i used for getting up and freeing her.

"What was that?" she asked looking at the corpse of the giant spider

"I don't know" i said "I've never seen a spider that big before"

"Let's get outta here" Applejack said.

We got out into the sunlight and  found that the town was back to normal before we rejoined the group,

"Where have you two been" Twilight asked

"Oh nowhere special" i said, winking at Applejack.

"Well come on then" said Twilight "Let's go"

So we were off again, the badlands, and hopefully Equoliac, were only a few miles away.
