//-------------------------------------------------------// My little Horror show -by CyborgDoctor- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 1 Where am I? How did I get here? I remember taking the last train from Canterlot, now I’m here. The forest towers above me, the mist tumbling around me. It’s so thick, keeping me from seeing beyond the front tree line. I glanced over my shoulder, the mist was pooling forwards. I trotted on, in fear if the mist caught up to me, it would suffocate me. I moved onward with shaky trots. The path extended for entity. I feel a cold sensation on the back of my neck, riseing the fur there. But all too soon, I see a building in the distance. It was separated from the forest, by a graveyard. I carefully navigated around the discarded bones and skulls, in order to get to the building. I’m serious when I say I heard them whispering in the gloom. Although it sounded like other living beings. Standing at the edge of the yard, I finally saw the building for the first time. It was run down, and had weeds growing up the side, like one of those buildings you would just ignore on your way to some place more important. It was two stories high, seeing the height of the windows. I noticed a name over the door, in big, run down letters: Derpy House. I reached the door, and reached out to turn the knobs. But I have a feeling instead to turn to the left. I move away from the door, in order to see better. But not too far as to not lose the door. There was shapes in the mist, tumbling around. There was three pony-ish shapes, and a large rectangle. I want to call out, but the mist chocked me. I close my eyes to cauff, and when I open them, the shapes were gone. I shrug, and turn around. I wasn't disappointed, I guess I knew that I would interact with that later. I walk back to the door. I reach out for the noobs. They feel cold. I looked at them. They were pony skulls. I walked into the building, finding myself at the front desk. I saw the waiting room off to the side. I stood there looking around, while the door closed behind me with a soft click. I decided to see if the front desk had a bell when: “Would you like a room?” I did a slight jump, and whipped my head to where the noise was coming from. A candle flickered revealing a gray pegasus, whom was staring at me, well, at least one eye was. The other seemed to have a mind of its own. Her head was tilted, her gold mane lopsided. There was something off about her that gave me shivers. “You must be very tired, having walked all the way here. Dead tired in fact.” She paused, studying my face. “How do I know that? Most guests usually are.” She paused, probably waiting for me to react. When I didn't, she continued. “Never mind. So, how about that room?” I just nodded my head, as words failed me. “Then you just stay here. I’ll go get your room ready.” I watched her walk into the gloom, until the darkness ate up the light of her candle flame. It was quiet for around a minute, and then I heard sharp thuds, accomplished by an ear piercing scream. The mare came back a few seconds later, her candle gone. She was covered in, what was that? Blood? “Follow me please.” When she turned around, I saw she had a knife lodged deep in between her ears. I heard her muttering something about a Pinkamina remembering to keep her door shut, as we got swallowed up by the dark hallway. Author's Note This is my first fanfic of sorts. I tried to stick to the plots of the gregory horror show episodes. So, there will be some characters that are OOC. If you like it, that's great! //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 2 We walked along the hallway in complete silence. I looked around my home for the next while. The windows were boarded up, sometimes flashes of lightning lighting up the hallways. The wallpaper was peeling off, and in certain parts, just holes, oozing red glop. The mare stopped in front of a door, and I almost ran into her. We had stopped in front of a door marked with the number 205. “Well, here we are.” The mare chirped.” I hope everything is to your pleasing.” I pulled open the door, hearing the hinges squeak. I didn't know what I expect, but it wasn't this. There was only a bed, table and a cabinet. There was a framed picture of a dog over the bed. Also, there was a window, but it was locked tightly shut. As I walked more into the room, I noticed a stain on the floor. Upon closer inspection, I found it to be blood. I felt sick to my stomach and turned to my hostess for an answer. “I see you found the left over from our last guest. I guess you can say it was an axe-cident.” She chuckled darkly. I honestly didn't want to imagine that poor pony’s fate. I walked over to the window wanting to reach out and open it when: “I wouldn't do that if I were you. One guest did, and, well…” I quickly backed away. “Good choice.” I turned away, and faced the cabinet.” You might also want to keep that closed.” I spun around, and saw my hostess standing behind the door "By the way, I’m Derpy. Ring if you need anything. And enjoy your stay.” She closed the door with a soft click. I heard a soft mutter “For eternity.” I was thinking of just getting some sleep, when I heard something. I trotted to the door, and pushed it open. At first, it was faint, but as it grew louder, I could identify the noise as singing. “Do you know, who ah am? They call me Honest Mare!” That repeated again, until a form appeared out of the gloom. First to come was the light radiating off an orange and gray source. Then to follow was the body. It was a light orange mare. She had a blond mane and tail, both in red pony tails. She had freckles and green eyes. She was suspended to the ceiling by something attached to her Stetson. She whizzed past, still singing the displeasing song. “Do you know, who ah am? They call me Honest Mare!” until she was swallowed whole once again by the darkness. I turned back to my room, when I heard a suspicious noise from the cabinet. When I got close enough, the doors banged open by themselves. Inside was Derpy. “There’s one thing I still need to tell you. Here, curiosity can, and might, kill you. I recommend keeping your snout out of places it doesn't belong, unless you want to find it bloody.” She jumped out of the cabinet, and went to the door. I saw, dislodged, in the back of her head, was a coat hanger. “Good night!” she said, before shutting the door. //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 4 I had gone on a walk to clear my head, when I heard what sounded like a little filly crying. It was an eerie noise that made the fur on my neck stand at attention. Hoof steps echoed through the hall, and a little filly appeared out of the gloom. She was an ugly shade of gray, with a green patch on her front leg. Her mane was light and dark gray. She had eyes of buttons, one blue, one purple and falling off. “I want my friend back.” She cried out softly. She came closer to me. I could tell she was sad, although no tears fell, because she was sniffling. “Please give me my friend back.” I tried to step quietly away, but I stepped on a loose floorboard, and she still heard me. ”Huh?” She looked up, and saw me. Another figure formed from the shadows. It was Derpy. “Poor girl. Still searching for her lost friend. Tough.” She looked me square in my eye, while the little one wept softly.” Her only friend was a mare that grew up with her. Then one day, a ‘Want it, need it’ spell was placed on her. Others wanted her, and were tearing her. Then it all stopped, and she was thrown away like a rag. Her ‘friend’ didn’t even try to find her, and didn’t even bat an eye when she was stolen away by another stallion.” The filly looked up at me, her eyes sparkled with hope. “Have you seen my friend?” She asked as she waddled closer. I shook my head. Derpy nudged the filly on “Don’t be heartless! Give the poor thing a hug.” She moved ever so slowly, so close… I didn’t know what it was; I just didn’t trust a pony with button eyes. Behind her, Derpy sadly shook her head.” Such a deep and everlasting friendship. Broken by a selfish mare…” “My…My friend….” Something was wrong. It was like anger buried deep, was rising up. Derpy was watching us, a slight smirk dancing on her lips. “Go on, it’ll make her feel much better…” “My friend…..GIVE HER BACK TO ME!!” A purple aurora surrounded her hooves, and me. I was lifted up, and thrown agents the wall. My back was roaring with pain, and my ears were ringing. I saw stars for a few seconds. When I felt I could move again without burning pain, I sat up a bit. The filly was lying on the floor, much like a discarded rag. Then, like something invisible had picked her up, she was lifted into the air. The look of shock that was on her face, mostly by her mouth, was troubling. She was dragged into the gloom, while wailing: "TWILIGHT!!!” I stood oddly by, until the whale died down. And then it was replied by a howl from Screw lose. I was panting, and looked over at Derpy. She looked troubled. She was just standing there, stone face. She came back down to reality again, as she said: "I recommend you go to bed.” Before trotting back into the gloom herself. She had made sure she was alone, before letting the tears fall. That little puppet. It was supost to be a toy, a non-living thing. And that name it screeched. But it reminded her of something. She tried to think about that day, but it was all a colorful blur, a mass of bodies. That was a happy memory, of course. One that she wasn't supost to have. She tried to think about something horrible. She was just standing idly by, when the white pony came up and starts yelling at her. Shen raises her staff and knocks her face in. She yelled out in agony. Her job she was as painful for her as it was for the guest. But then again, the guests didn't have to deal with Head of house. She ran her hoof across the ragged wall, before running over a patch that would make a normal pony bleed. She wasn't a normal pony. Her hoof flickered, and howling pain followed before stopping and reappearing in a soft gold light. She cursed under her breath. Might as well get back to work, she thought bitterly, before continuing down the hall. //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 6 I awoke to find myself in a hospital like room. In front of me, was a whole wall dedicated to large, sharp needles. The white hurt my eyes, and I had to blink a few times to get rid of the sting. I struggle to move, and look down. I was sitting in a chair, with clasps holding down my front hooves, and midriff. I look around the room for a way escape, to no avail. The chair was too tight, and there was no keyhole. I hear the door open, and in came a pony with a light pink mane in a tight bun, and dark bags under her pale blue eyes. “So, you’re the new guest?” She asked, staring into my eyes as she asked. I nodded, biting the inside of my cheek, until I tasted blood. She walks around me checking something out. “Well, you seem in perfect health. Although I don’t see why Pinkamina would want to use you, but we haven’t had mortal pony blood in a while…” She walks over to the wall holding the needles, and picks up an especially large one. She takes her time cleaning the needle, as cold shivers ran down my spine. She comes back over to me. “This isn't going to hurt at all.” She told me, as she jabbed the tip into my arm. Pain shot through my arm, paralyzing me. I open my mouth, trying to scream, but nothing came out. Instead I just tried to gasp for air. “I might’ve lied...” The nurse mumbled. I watched as my important life force drained from my body into the vile. I felt myself weaken, just wanting it to be over. I tried shutting my eyes, but I opened them again. “Not the chatty type, huh?" She asked, as she watched my silent struggle with the pain. I looked her straight in the eye, as I opened and closed my jaw. The door creaked open, and a gray shape made it's way in front of me. And then I was staring into two golden orbs. "Nurse, I don't think he looks so well..." I feel the pain lessen, as the needle is taken out of my arm. I gasp for breath, the air stinging my lungs. "Nurse, why did you do that?" Derpy asked angrily. "Pinkamina said, that you agreed-" "Forget what she told you!" Derpy lashed out," If head of house found out all three of us would've been turned into bejeweled rugs!" I lost whatever bit of will I had to move. I fell out of the chair into a heap. "Oh now look! We better get him into bed.." That's all I heard before I passed out again.. Pov change Derpy looked at the heap before sighing again. "Red heart, help get him onto my back.." Derpy heard the grunts, and she wasn't ready for the weight of the limp stallion. She could hear his ruff breathing, and feel his heart beat. She turned her head to see his face. She was shocked when a bit of blue mist escaped his nose and mouth. "Are you okay?" Red heart asked. "Yeah, I fine.." It took a while to get to room 205, trying to not drop the heavy lump. When they got there, Red heart escaped back to her office, and Derpy set the stallion in his bed in a comfortable possession. She then sat down by the bed to recap what she saw. Why did these things happen to her? Was that spell necessary to get her to stop with the questions? She huffed before getting up and leaving, shutting the door softly. //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 7 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 7 "Mister....Mister....Are you okay?" Hearing an unknown voice, I awake to find myself eye to eye with another pony. My sight being fuzzy, I blinked a few times. I then found myself staring into two orange eyes. That's also when I saw the faint trickle of blood running down her face. I tried to move, but pain started to fill my body. I grabbed the two pillows at my disposal, and laid on top of them. That's when I saw it.In between her ears was a giant cleaver, lodged deep. Couldn't she feel it? I struggled abit, still in pain, and in uncomfortable. This place was making me squirm, and they knew it. "I don't think moving is a good idea.." Another voice came from somewhere out of my range of vision. Another filly,( how many are in this hotel?) made her way to my bedside. She looked fine to me, so what was her story? "Do you want me to fix your pillows?" she asked. I noded. That's when I saw her back. There were bones sticking out, with feeble feathers still hanging on. I guess she used to be a Pegasus before something happened to her. She fixed my pillows, and she and the yellow one helped lay me down again. I hear the door creak open, and I turn my head to see the nurse come in. As she got closer, I struggled more, getting myself tangled in the blanket, and igniting the pain again. When she got to the bedside, I just gave up to the pain in me, just hoping whatever she was going to do with, if painful, was quick. The two fillies were still by my bed. The yellow one spoke up, "Nurse Red heart, what's wrong with him?" The nurse checked my eyes, and felt my forehead. "Just some broken bones and major blood loss. Nothing time and a little work can't fix. But there is one thing..." She avoided the subject by untangling me from the sheet. She then turned to the yellow filly. "Now, what's wrong with you?" She asked. The yellow filly backed away, along with her friend, and shock her head. "Now Apple bloom, Scootaloo..." The nurse sighed. "Nurse, the guest and we want to know what's wrong!" Apple bloom protected. "Okay, okay. I'll tell you.." She turns to face me, as well as the fillies, who had wide eyes. "You know how you haven't been talking lately?" I nod. "Okay, I don't have to explain. Well, when you were in my office, you passed out, and I did some tests and, well.." She paused, thinking of how to tell me. "Your vocal cords are damaged." The gasps from the fillies was a understatement to the horror I felt at the news. I felt a panic attack rising. Apple bloom turned to Red heart. "Is it permanent? Do you have any ideas?" The nurse shocked her head. "I really don't know. This happens to most visitors, so I'm not surprised." She turned and started to shove the two out of the room. "Now you two run along, I have work to do here." The two ran out, happly chatting, Scootaloo did a little flutter jump, like she expected to fly. Red heart came back to my side, a sympathetic look on her face. "Now, what I'm going to do might hurt. Would you like it if I knock you out?" She asked. I slowly nod. She injects something into my arm, and I gratefully pass out. POV change Red heart stood over the knocked out stallion, watching his chest rise and fall. He looked so peaceful. "You told him?" Derpy asked from the doorway. "Yes, he knows, and took it very well." She gave a small smile. "This is no time for jokes, if head of house finds out, we would be screwed." Red heart ran her hoof through her mane. "What if we don't tell her?" Derpy thought that over for a minute. "I would get all the blame..." "So what? Aren't you immune?" Red heart asked, taking a loose nail and running it down Derpy's arm. Derpy cried out in pain, as her arm disappeared and reappeared in gold mist. "Yes, I am." Derpy muttered. "And I guess she doesn't need to know." She looked over to the bed. "He is okay, right. I don't want to face Head's wrath for nothing." Red heart nodded. "He looks so peaceful... I wonder what brought him here." "Good, I have other things to take care of. You will take care of him, right?" "Yes, I no where else to go." Derpy nodded, as she left the room. Author's Note Sorry for a some what sucky chapter. The next will be better, promise! //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 8.5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 8.5 I cautiously open my eyes. Of the few nights that I have been trapped here, I learned to expect the worst. I sit up and wait a few minutes. No rusty door hinges, no Derpy. I'm free to explore. I grew out of exploring once I got my Cutie Mark, but I needed to know where everything was. I stand outside my door. Left is the way to the front door. If I go right, it'll take longer, but I'll just go in a circle of sorts. I pass Screw loose's door. All is quite tonight. It's somewhat silent in the hotel tonight, now that I think about it. Once in awhile, I'll hear feint singing. At the end is a doorway. Hung up is a rusty, old probably sign. 'Storeroom'. Hmm... I walk up to it, picking into it's key hole. There is a mare in the room. I only see her flank, and the clock she's standing in front of. She levitates an object, that resembles a screw driver. I softly walk into the room. The mare turns around to face me. Her mane is dark blue with a white streak. Her eyes are wide. “Oh! Sorry! I didn't hear you come in.” I just nod. Turning away, I hear her mutter about 'a stupid clock' and something being wibbly wobbly. I chuckle, a thing that I could still do but probably won't do very often. I look around the room. On one wall, there's a mail bag hung up. On the same wall there was a stack of boxes, with a muffin placed delicately on top. Hanging over a desk, are pictures. The pictures are strange creatures. One creature has the look of Derpy. The other, I don't know. The backgrounds are of meany different places. The only place I know of is Space. I think now would be a good time to go back to my room. The mare had disappeared, leaving behind her screwdriver. At least, I think it's a screwdriver. I stand outside the door, and my eye caught a door that I knew wasn't there before. 'Library'. Huh. Something is tugging me towards it. But I know I can't risk it. I spent enough time away all ready. I run back to my room, and fall into bed. //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 9 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 9 I yawned and stretched, exspting to find myself in my own bedroom in Ponyvile. But to my shock and disappointment, I find myself in that wretched hotel. I get up, and as I hear unsettling singing. I recognized the song as from the other night. I know it's coming from the hallway, so I softly make my way over to the door, as to not alert the singer. Once I was in the hallway, the singing stopped. I was just about to go back into my room and pass that off as just me going nuts when I saw something. It was speeding towards me, and I only just had time to duck. The bottom of the thing just scraped my ears. I looked up to see the orange mare from… How many nights ago. It’s hard to keep count. She smiled down at me in an unsettling manner. I looked back up at her, our eyes connecting. She had an air of unease about her, making my back legs tremble. “Yer closest friend just told you their deepest secret. The next day, she drags you along to sign up fer the the school newspaper. You sign up to do the gossip column. But ye are pressured into spillin’ somethin’ deep. The only thing that comes to yer mind is yer friends’ secret. So, what do you do?” She leans closer to me. I bite the inside of my lip. Nice to know there are real life bastards in Ponyville. Of course I wouldn't sell the secrets of any pony close to me! “Oh, so you say you won’t sell yer friend’s secret?” Wait, what? I look her in the face. Her green eyes stood out more now, as her fur started to turn green. I nod. She pulls out two gems like things. One is orange, the other is a dull gray. They’re both shaped like apples. I guess they’re one part of the elements of harmony I keep hearing about. Not like I ever saw them. She tosses them in the air. The bright one shatters into a million pieces. I fold my ears back as the pieces rain down on me. The mare leans in closer. “Lair.” She turns on her monorail-type transportation and speed away. I was left to stare down at the glass sticking into my hooves, and the blood pooling in the carpet. “Lair. Lair. Lair. Lairrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~!” I growl, a sound that I was surprised I could still do. “That’s no way to talk to the mare whom’s risking everything for you.” Derpy slipped in front of me. She looks down. Gagging, she covers her nose. “Eww… I’m getting some pony to clean this up…” She looks at me. “As well as you.” “You should know better!” She snapped. I look at her with narrowed eyes. “Betraying friends like that.” I just tilt my head. “What?!” She shrilled, “I have friends.” “As well as secrets.” A voice joined in. “You wouldn’t spill them, would you?” We both look up. The orange mare was suspended over us. She was smiling down at us, showing off sharp teeth. “Go away, Aj.” Derpy hissed. “Hmm… Should I spill this to Rar-” “Don’t you dare!” She growled. I was surprised she had it in her. The mare raised her hooves in defense. “Okay, okay.” She said before turning around and scooting off. Derpy just rolled her eyes. She looked at me, “Come on, let’s get you back to your bed.” She nudged me, honestly not needing to do anything. I would’ve gone along anyways. As Derpy lifted, with a good night as well as a warning to stay put, I rested on my back in order to see the ceiling better. Rar? That dosen’t seem like a whole name. Something told me that I would find out soon. Maybe it was the wind as it tickled my ear. //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Night 3 The non-pony cries were what kept me from falling into deep slumber. It sounded like a dog in pain. I was transfixed to the spot, listening as pounding hoof steps stopped at what can only be next door. What sounded like a metal door banged open. “Shut up! You excuse of a mutt!” A mare’s voice boomed in the silences. I whipped my head towards the painting of the dog, as the noise quieted down to a soft whimper before stopping altogether. My door opened with a creak. Derpy peeked in, the light of her candle flickered across her face. “Sorry ‘bout that. The mutt next door was causing some problems.” Regarding my questing face, she pressed on:”You do not need to know who’s resigning next door.” She shut the door again. I waited for a few minutes, which felt like forever, just to make sure she had gone, before lightly opening my door. I silently walked next door. The door to room 203 was a rusty yellow. It was heavily locked, like one that was keeping a criminal shut in. It was out of place, but it felt in place at the same time. I peeked into the keyhole, and saw a nearly empty room. The barred window barely lets any light in.A sharp growl and a magenta eye flashed through the hole. I was so shocked; I fell back and landed on my side. “So, you've found Screw loose." A voice came from above me, and I turned up to find Derpy standing right above me. "She’s caused us a lot of trouble when she first arrived. She used to be a sane pony until something snapped.” Thunder boomed in the silences and a deafening howl followed. “We don’t know what happened, she just started biting and growling at the guests. Bones started to disappear from the kitchen. We had to keep her under control, for her own safety as well as every pony else. ” She began walking down the hallway. “A pity really. She was one of the nicer guests before she thought she was a canine.” She turned towards me.” I would recommend keeping your door closed at night. You wouldn't want to wake up with something of your's missing.” She walked away, muttering about something, as another howl accompanied another round of thunder.
