Skasis Paradigm is a young unicorn stallion, and formerly a student at the Royal Canterlot University until he accidentally ends up inside the TARDIS as a result of the unpredictable and inconceivable events that usually unfold around The Doctor where and whenever he goes.
After traveling with The Doctor and Derpy a short while, Skasis ends up stranded in the past, in the months following the founding of Equestria. He comes under the authority of Commander Hurricane, who is more or less the mare history had portrayed her to be, although not entirely, as Skasis comes to find out.
As the three pony tribes attempt settle into their new unity, the first true inter-tribe friendships begin to form, and Skasis and the Commander slowly find a closer bond between each other, one that will end up playing a part in finally allowing understanding and removing the barriers between the three kinds of ponies around which the tribes were formed.
