//-------------------------------------------------------// The Case of The Missing Girl -by ImAPonyXY- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One Just Another Day My name was Cloud Heart; I lived at the twenty-third house on Sugar-Cube Lane by myself. I worked at the Ponyville Private-Defence Station as a Private Detective; although I usually only get the tasks that the town guards can’t be bothered to do, and due to all that experience, I was only of the most skilled out of all my co-workers. I had long, cyan, braided hair with the braid extending down over my shoulder, deep blue eyes that my sister always says are fantastical. I had blue fur that I washed and brushed every morning to keep it soft and pillow-like. I usually wore a white, buttoned-up, long sleeve shirt with a black overcoat. But on occasions I wore a black vest instead. On my legs I liked to wear black pants but when I had to be formal I wore a long, black skirt. With my feet I had black, leather, dress-shoes but they weren’t too comfortable and they were the first things I took off when I get home. From my neck hung a silver and gold, manticore necklace and from my ears, hung two diamond earrings. Although they weren’t actual diamonds, I was too poor to ever dream of something like those. Don’t get me wrong though, my job pays a lot and I make tones of money. But I just simply have a saving problem... and that problem was that I was horrible at handling money. I would always jump at the first chance to buy something and so I usually ended up broke by payday. But never mind that, I’m sure you don’t really care listening to me ramble on about the boring stuff. You’re here to listen to my story, what I do and why I did what I had to do when it came to that little girl... Who I now call daughter... You see, it all started when I sat down at my desk one day on my second year of working. I was only twenty-three and I was even more naïve and stupid when it came to common sense. How I ever made it as a Private Detective was beyond me. But obviously I must have been good enough for them to accept me at such a young age. I sat down at my desk, same as everyday, turned on my computer and checked my emails, also same as everyday. However, as I checked through the hundreds of emails I received due to my untimely success, there was one that caught my eye. It was the description of a case about a little girl who had been kidnapped. It read: Name: Toxic Regios Age: Eleven D.O.B: 11th March 2003 Place of Birth: Records tell us that she was born in Ponyville Urgent Care Centre Parents: - Sky Blaze (Father) - Acid Regios (Mother) Grand Parents: - Blossom Flowers (Mother of Sky Blaze) - Crimson Blaze (Father of Sky Blaze) - Chrome Regios (Mother of Acid Regios) - The father of Acid Regios is unknown. Address: The subject is homeless and both parents as well as the grandparents have passed away. Description: Lime green coloured fur, purple mane and tail, yellow eyes and she was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white coat. (We realise that this description is poor, there is a photo attached at the bottom of the document). I read through her description and carefully took notes on everything about her. It was a shame that her parents and grandparents were dead, not only that it meant that she was homeless and all alone, but also that it would be harder for me to track her down. Eventually, as I finished reading, I came to another part of the document that contained the case information. I read it carefully and took notes on it too: Dear, Cloud Heart. I have another assignment for you and your partner, Dazzle Star. As you may have read above, the description is of a girl who has been kidnapped and her friend’s request and immediate investigation. This was reported on the 17th September 2014... That was yesterday, so I still have a good chance on catching up with this investigation. I continued to read: We believe that the Black Apple Gang has something to do with this, but we cannot formally summon them to court or for an interrogation without proper evidence. That is what I need you and Dazzle to do, to find evidence of who did the crime and to find her as soon as possible. If you do not find her within six months, then the investigation will be terminated and handed over to the Special Investigation Corps. Meet me in my office as soon as you get this email if you feel like accepting this case. If not, then we have plenty of other detectives to take your place. Yours sincerely, Captain Shadow Rush. I finished reading and I immediately downloaded the image of her that was provided in the email. There was no way that I was going to let a little girl remain in someone else’s hands... especially if that person was a potential pervert or torturer. I wouldn’t dare leave her to suffer. I stood up and walked over to my boss’s office and knocked on the door. “Shadow, it’s me Cloud.” I said in a cool and collected tone. ‘Alright, come in.” I head in reply. I opened the door and was instantly greeted by his highly personalised office. There were medals and merits hung up on the wall behind him, a printer, filing cabinet and a few pots of flowers were along the sidewall. And on the other side was a large bookcase filled with mainly comics, but there were a few legitimate books in there. On the floor was a red carpet with yellow and blue lines surrounding the edges and on the carpet, in the centre of the room, was a wooden, office desk with a computer and a bunch of documents scattered across it. Sitting at this desk was my boss, and one could say that he resembled his name. Just like a shadow, he had black fur and a black main and tail with a crimson line through it. He had purple eyes and he commonly wore a suit to work. I never saw him outside of work so I don’t know what he wore at home, or even where he lived. “Have you come here about the case of the missing girl?” he asked, looking up from his computer and engaging eye contact with me. I nodded and said, “Yes. I would like to look for her and recover her if possible.” He smiled and began to type something in his computer, “Excellent, I will email you with anything that may be of use when it comes up. But in the mean time, you and Detective Star will need to head to Ponyville Shelter for the Homeless and ask for Sweetie Belle, Lil’ Dew and Silver Ash. Understood?” I nodded again, I felt ready and rather keen about this. I knew what to do, and now I just had to inform my partner of our new assignment. As I walked out of the room to meet up with Dazzle, I kept wondering what her friends would say, surely they were still kids too and surely they wouldn’t know too much. But, I am a detective and I must not leave a single rock unturned. I walked down the stairs, through the hallways and out through the reception doors to see my co-partner standing where she always stood; right against the tall lamppost smoking a cigarette. “You know I keep saying this, but you really should quit smoking.” I spoke without introducing myself, no doubt giving her a little shock as I doubt she heard me. And I was right, I made her jump slightly and she dropped in cigarette in surprise. “God damn it!” she sighed and pressed the butt into the ground with her foot. “What is it now, Cloud, do we have another assignment?” she asked, standing up straight and putting her hands in her jacket pockets. “Yeah, we do.” I replied and I pulled out my smart phone and showed her the email. “We have to find evidence of who kidnapped this girl, and where she could be.” Dazzle looked through the email and paid close attention to the image. “Wow, for an eleven year old she’s pretty hot.” she commented and gave me pack my phone. “Any idea where to start?” I nodded and pointed to the car. “I’ll drive... We have to head to the Ponyville Shelter and speak to three of her friends. I have their names in my notepad.” I opened the door to the black, lotus and strapped my seatbelt on. The seats where made of comfortable leather and the performance of our ride had been fully customised to all for chasing down criminals if needed. The Lotus was a sports car and it was provided by work; I was too poor to even dream of getting a car. I put the keys into the ignition and started the car, but before I began to drive, I waited for Dazzle to get in. When she finally did, I began to drive off down the street. Ponyville had changed a lot within the past four years, ever since Twilight became a princess; development had sprouted up all across the small town to transform it into a bustling city. There were tall buildings, towers, roads, inter-town train tracks, and expansions on how large Ponyville was. New house had been built and I owned one of the new houses. I kept driving and once we reached our destination I parked on the side of the large street as cars rushed back and forth across the pavement. Both Dazzle and me climbed out of the car and checked that we had anything. We then approached the doorway the Homeless Shelter. “So do you think they’ll be cooperative?” my partner asked. She was wise too, because the last time we had a case, we nearly got kidnapped ourselves. Luckily, she was trained to use a firearm. I nodded. “They should be, they’re only children and they have no reason to lie.” “I know, I know. But what if they do lie?” “Then we pressure them again and again until they tell us what we need to know. They are our only lead and we need them to cooperate. Otherwise this girl, Toxic Regios, will not be found.” As I said that, I pushed upon the door of the building and entered. Light flooded my vision and I saw nothing but homeless people and beds everywhere. It may be a little challenge to find these kids here.
