Rainbow Dash stood in the doorway of her house with all her bags ready to go, it was time. The Wonderbolt carriage had arrived to take away their new member of the team.
"Please don't go, Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo pleaded, hanging onto the pegasus' hind leg. The orange filly looked up at her idol, who was about to leave for a new and better life without her.
"Don't worry squirt, I'll be back before you know it. Next break's in seven months" Rainbow Dash looked down at her friend, who was beginning to cry.
"SEVEN MONTHS!?!?!?!?" Scootaloo exclaimed, jumping up to her feet and chasing Rainbow Dash down the street. All of her bags had been loaded onto the carriage and Rainbow Dash climbed in and sat down beside Spitfire.
"Don't.... go.... please..." Scootaloo said as Rainbow Dash went flying away for her new life. The filly slowly walked into the house and curled up to cry.
The sun began to set on Cloudsdale and Scootaloo could see the Wonderbolts arena, where her lifelong best friend was practicing for the Summer Sun Celebration. Scootaloo walked up the stairs and into her room to go to bed, when just catching sight of a note that Rainbow Dash had left her.
"What's this?" Scootaloo asked herself, picking up the note and beginning to read it.
Dear Squirt,
I know you're sad that I've left, but there's always one way to cheer up. Remember to spread your wings, it's not a hard task to make someone proud.

Scootaloo, realizing what she had to do, pinned the note on her wall and ran over to her desk where paper and a quill awaited her...
The sound of busy ponies began to fill the city, awaking Scootaloo. The filly jumped out her bed and grabbed the note she had written the night before, put it in her saddlebag and took the next carriage to Ponyville Elementary School.
The school bell was about the ring by the time Scootaloo got to school, where Applebloom and Sweetiebelle were waiting for her. The orange pegasus handed both notes and the fillies read them on the way in.
"Okay class, settle down please!" Miss Cherilee asked the children, when they all got to their seats. Miss Cherilee took a piece of chalk and began drawing on the board.
"Now class, can anyone tell me what I'm doing?" Cherilee asked her students.
"Um, you're drawing a flag?" Silver Spoon said, not caring if she got it wrong.
"Yes, but what flag?" The teacher replied.
"Uh, Ponyville's!" Diamond Tiara said, making one of her 'I don't care faces'.
Cherilee looked around her class to see if she could get any clues to help them. Finally, she had to tell them.
"Well, it's the Cloudsdale flag and I did think you all knew it" Miss Cherilee said to her confused classroom. The mare looked around the class, Ditzy was chewing a pencil, Rumble fell asleep and Diamond Tiara was passing a note to Scootaloo.
Miss Cherliee hesitated for a moment.
"What?" She said to herself. Diamond Tiara must have heard her say because she quickly pulled away the note from the pegasus and put it in her saddlebag.
School had ended and Scootaloo took the next carriage to Cloudsdale to go home. On her way, Scootaloo had a thought...
"I remember what she said!" Scootaloo said to herself, taking out the note from Rainbow Dash out her bag. She quickly scanned through the words to see were it was.

"That's it!" Scootaloo exclaimed, running round her bedroom in excitement. She finally knew how to make her best friend proud. Scootaloo dashed outside and into her garden were two flags were planted into the ground.
She prepared herself at the flags, spread her wings and starting flapping them. Scootaloo was going to fly. The filly began levitating mere centimeters above the ground and slowly moved forward every few seconds.
"I'm doing it! I'm doing it!" Scootaloo exclaimed, spreading out her hooves and looking up to the sky. At this point, Scootaloo knew about what her life was going to be like, her life would be a heck of a lot better.. With a certain multi-colored pegasus giving her the biggest smile ever..
Scootaloo managed to fly up to the roof just as the sun was setting, the perfect time to celebrate such a great achievement. She sat on the roof of her cloud house and admired the sunset as at slowly shank behind the clouds far ahead.
