//-------------------------------------------------------// Maybe I wasn't supposed to be here. -by The_Silent_Hero47- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Life is funny //-------------------------------------------------------// Life is funny Somewhere in a simple, plain, normal neighborhood there lives a simple man who lives a simple life. All through his life, he dreams of doing big things and going places, then again who doesn't daydream about living the easy life, on this routine like day his thoughts were cut short by the ringing of his alarm clock. He slowly slams the snooze button and takes his time getting up from his lumpy, bumpy bed. Drake Fulsom, age 28, single and wondering if this is all that life is about. He's changed quite a bit from his teenage years, going from wild party animal to plain businessman who has to worry about bills and rent. His love life drafted here and there, crushing on one girl here, hooking up with one there, doing a one night stand occasionally. He's had his heart broken many times, had to break hearts a few times too. But now his recent crush is Chelsia Hemming, his new next door neighbor. Something about her just struck the love bug in his heart, maybe it's her long brown hair, maybe it's her eyes, maybe it's the way she lives her life, or even personality. He didn't know nor cared, he wanted her in his arms. He phased in through thoughts while taking a hot shower to clear his mind on recent job stress. Ordering this, declining that, vetoing projects he didn't even know about, he hated his job but then again so did everyone else in his work floor. Finally drying his cleansed body and changing into his job uniform he walks outside to his front porch, seeing Chelsia checking her mail. He stopped and stared at her, knowing he could just ask her out, but not knowing how to do it. His watch beeped letting him know that he was running late for work, leaving him running to his car and driving to his pointless and boring job. Walking into his work building, pushing his floor button in the elevator and listening to a slowed down version of call me maybe in this moving 2 ton square. His floor arrives and he heads straight for his cubicle, turns on his computer and starts going to work, checking email after email. He then runs into an email that was more stranger than the others ones. It was to him, not the company, but to him, literally him. He was caught off guard but decided to click it anyways and read it. "Dear Drake, I know who you are, you don't know me, so lets keeps this simple. You are going to experience something out of this world, and I know you won't enjoy it. But Drake, your life is special. Don't do something stupid." What the hell? Who would even care about me? Drake thought as he deleted the email and moved on through his day. After a 9 hour shift he finally clocks out of work, and starts heading home. On the drive home he sees Chelsea, walking alone on the sidewalk. He pulled up next to her, I might as well try right? he thought as his car got closer to her. "Hey, you need a ride?" He asked. She stood there for a second, then nodded. "Yeah, um I need a ride to my house. I could give you directions." She walked over to the passenger door and getting in. "Actually I'm one of your neighbors, I'm Drake Fulsom, nice to meet you." "Oh you're the one guy who left me my welcoming basket right?" She said recalling the first week home someone left her a welcome basket full of fruit. "Yup, that was me." He said as he started to head home. The car ride home was surprisingly fast, Drake and Chelsea both talked the whole way home. He was happy hearing a few stories about her and her life, as he pulled up to his house she was finishing a story  of hers. "And that's why, to this day I always carry an extra pair of shoes with me." She said, both laughing at the story. "That was quite a story," Drake said, turning off the car."well, this is my house." Chelsea opened her door and walked out closing it." Hey thanks for the ride home Drake." "Anything for a neighbor." He said smiling. They both said goodbye and went in to call it a night. Drake spent 20 minutes looking at himself in the mirror.
