Decepticons: Failure to Conquer
Ponyville was pretty normal on that Tuesday morning. Except for the giant warship hovering above it. The Nemesis, the Decepticon's command center, had been casting a shadow over the little town for weeks, and many of the plants in the window boxes of the little houses had wilted. Hovering above Princess Twilight's castle was a grey pegasus with missiles harnessed to each side. His cutie mark was a radar screen. Scowling, he landed in front of the castle and knocked on the door. It was opened by that same blasted dragon that had opened it last time, and he said the exact same blasted sentence.
"Princess Twilight is not in right now. May I take a message?" The pegasus glared at him.
"Can you say anything else?" He grumbled. "Blasted dragon." The dragon glared back.
"Huh. By now I thought you Desepperkons or whatever you call yourselves would have given up. Twilight did disable your ship's weapon systems, after all." The pegasus' face went purple with rage.
"WE ARE CALLED THE DECEPTICONS!" He released a catch and one of his missiles fired up and blasted past the dragon and into the castle. The dragon went pale.
"You do know that this crystal is almost impenetrable, right?" The pegasus grinned evilly at him.
"Please, call me Starscrea-" The missile had bounced off the far wall of the throne room and had bounced back, hitting Starscream in the chest. The missile propelled him straight up, exploding at about fifty feet. The boom shook the ground slightly, and the dragon winced as he imagined what must have happened to the pegasus. Ouch.
Soundwave was the first to notice. He was on the bridge of the Nemesis, trying to find a way to destroy the magic barrier that prevented them from firing their plasma cannons on the town. Then, for a few moments, the floor shook under his hooves. Using his magic to manipulate two robotic arms, he found the cause. It appeared that a missile had exploded not too far away. Finding the source of the missile, he deployed Laserbeak and went back to typing.
A few minutes later, Laserbeak transmitted his location. Soundwave opened a Groundbridge, and walked through. Seconds later he emerged, carrying an unconscious Starscream on his back. Dropping him on the floor, he left the room to notify Megatron.
Starscream slowly opened his eyes, his head throbbing like a huge rock had been dropped on him. He sat up and saw that he was in the medical bay of the Nemesis. Staring at him from the corner of the room was a blue earth pony with a white mane and tail with a copper sheen, and one yellow eye, the other covered by an eyepatch.
"Breakdown," Starscream groaned. When Breakdown saw that he was awake, he turned and went down the corridor. What has happened? Starscream wondered. The last thing he remembered was introducing himself to that idiot dragon after firing a missile, and then the next thing he knew, he was in the medical bay. The noise of a throat clearing interrupted his thoughts. Megatron stood above him, looking very angry. Starscream immediately began pleading with him.
"Oh, please, Lord Megatron, it wasn't my fault!" Megatron raised an eyebrow.
"It wasn't? Because, Soundwave said that you fired a missile into the castle, and it bounced back, the crystal being nearly impenetrable. It hit you and carried you up fifty feet before exploding. And you must remember that we are guests here, and that we do not attack unless I give the order? You must stop letting your temper get the better of you, Starscream. Or I might be forced to replace you as my second-in-command." Giving him one more warning glance, Megatron left the room. Starscream let out a sigh. Megatron wasn't going to replace him. Yet.
Twilight Sparkle hadn't been this worried since Tirek. What was she going to do about these "Decepticons"? She knew that it was only a matter of time before they destroyed her magic barrier around the weapons systems. Just then, a guard poked his head through the door.
"The Princesses will see you now, Your Majesty." Twilight nodded and followed the guard through the door. Inside, Princesses Celestia and Luna sat on their thrones, worry in their eyes.
"We have seen the strange vehicle above your hometown, Princess Twilight," began Luna. "Do you know what it might be?" Twilight nodded.
"The vehicle is a warship used by an army of ponies called the Decepticons. They came to Ponyville so they could conquer it. I've stalled them as much as I could but it's only a matter of time. I came here to ask your help." Celestia stood up.
"Of course, Twilight. We will do everything in our power to protect your hometown. But, It's getting late. You must rest here tonight." Twilight suddenly became flustered.
"Oh, no. I can't leave my friends vulnerable. Come to my castle tomorrow morning." After a quick curtsy, she rushed out of the room, worried about what could be going on back home.
Twilight flew through the air at breakneck pace, silently hoping that nopony had been hurt by the Decepticons. She was so busy worrying that she didn't see the Nemesis until it was too late. She hit the side of the ship with a crash. Struggling, she made her way to the top of the ship. That was her mistake. Looking straight at her was Starscream, grinning.
"You will certainly improve my standing with Megatron, princess," he said in his oily voice. The last thing she remembered was a sharp pain in the side of her head, then darkness.
Breakdown certiantly didn't expect anypony to be on the roof at this time of night, so when he saw a shadow walking down the corridor, he quickly hid. A mare with metal legs attached to her back trotted by, chuckling. That's funny, Breakdown thought. I thought Arachnid wasn't part of the Decepticons anymore.
