Chapter 1: Have A Drink On Me
On a warm summer evening in the town known as Ponyville, walks a girl in her late teens. As the sun hung low in the sky, casting off it's bright rays off the girls rainbow-colored hair. Rainbow Dash slowly walks down the sidewalk. Every other step she took she'd scuf the concrete with a slight kick of her foot in frustration. She huffs an exhausted sigh, as mixed emotions haunt her mind about her recent breakup. Though the athletic teen was ambitious, she wanted to actually take things slow with her previous relationship. Sadly, he was only after one thing and Dash would never allow it to happen.
She continued to make her way towards her destination. The only place that she could think of to get away or try to ease her mind from the earlier events that happened. Or, in other words drown her sorrows. While shoving her hands into the her denim jeans and cursing under her breath, she turns around the corner of the block. Coming up near the bar, her gaze shifts back up from the concreted sidewalk and sees the sign that was held above the building that read, Ponyville Tavern.
Letting out another deep sigh, she opens the door and walks inside. The bar was old-fashioned, and had more of a western look. Though Rainbow Dash was more of a tomboy and mostly use to city life, she really did admire the country side of things. The slender teen glances around as she moves towards the bar counter. She sees a few people standing around a pool table, playing and laughing with one another. One of them notices her and smiles with a nod. Not being in the mood, Rainbow Dash slowly shakes her head and shifts her gaze elsewhere.
She sits down on one of the barstools and peers down the extended, slick, bar counter. Only to notice that surprisingly there is no one except for one girl at the end. Because of the vague lighting in the bar she squints her eyes to get a better glimpse, but the only thing she could make out was her silhouette what appears to be a stetson. Rainbow Dash continued to stare at the girl with a confounded expression not even noticing that the bartender had approached her.
"What can I get cha' honey?" Berrypunch says in a friendly tone.
The rainbow-haired girl stares in a heuristic daze at the stetson girl for a moment longer. Something about her was captivating and different, even if she couldn't get a good look at her. Hm, I don't think I've seen her around town before… ugh, if these damn lights in here weren't so dim, I could get a better look at her. Her daze was interrupted as the same question was replied once more. Shaking her head quickly to focus, she turns towards the bartender.
"Oh, um… The strongest shot you can make." She responds with a smirk, she doesn't care what she drank really, only if it did the trick and got her to forget the horrible scene in her head from earlier. Berrypunch furrows her eyebrows in more of a surprised look, she shrugs, thinking the girl was having a rough day and got to work on her drink.
Within a quick minute, Berrypunch sets a fairly large shot-glass down onto the hard wooden counter in front of the athlete. Rainbow Dash nods with a pleased grin and takes a small swig from the glass, the cool, rough, liquid ran fluently down her throat. Feeling the sudden burn of warmth in her chest as she sets the glass back down. She licks the remaining liquid from her lips, tasting the bold, bitterness of the liquor. She lets out a brief sigh in satisfaction, and allows her mind to view the abhorrent scene that transpired earlier one last time…
"Oh, man he's gonna totally love this!" I squealed in excitement.
I pulled out the soft clothing from the bag I held in my hand. Bringing the shirt to my eyes, I stared in awe at the beautiful signature below the logo. It was a unique Wonderbolt exclusive. There were very few shirts like this and I figure I'd get one for my boyfriend. After all, him and I actually shared an awesome interest and the most awesome part was… we were both big wonderbolt fans!
I stared at the exclusive shirt for a few more seconds and slipped it back into the bag. Now what to do? I pondered over the idea for a minute if I should go with a surprise visit with this awesome gift. Now, I will say this… we haven't been dating all that long, maybe about a month or so. I wasn't one to go out and buy gifts and such for anyone. I really like my boyfriend because like I've said already, he's a Wonderbolt fan and though I'm still a virgin I want to keep things slow. Slow? Yeah I know right? Me being Rainbow Dash the awesomest athlete all around and all, but when it comes to relationships, which is very rare for me, I'd still like to take it slow.
Coming up with an answer, I'd decided what to do. I began to walk towards his house. I gripped onto the bag like if my life depended on it as I walked down the town blocks. After a few moments of walking and wondering what his expression will be when I show him this awesome gift, I arrived in front of my boyfriends house. Coming up to the front door, I noticed something odd… the door was slightly ajar. I shrugged it off and stepped into the house. The dead silence hit my ears and I began to wonder if he was even home, but the door… So I proceed further into the house and stopped to listen.
My eyebrows furrowed into suspicion when I heard a faint like 'banging' noise coming from upstairs. With curiosity leading me up the stairs, the noise increased. I began to pick up the pace and stormed into the door where the noise derived from. As the door swung open my heart froze and was completely speechless for what was in front of my eyes. There laid my boyfriend in bed with another girl on top of him. Both naked and completely burning in hell through my eyes. I was beyond enraged.
"Dash! Wha–" he sputtered to a stop when he was roughly cut off.
"How could you!!!" I roared out loud, scaring the shit out of the other skank. "I see you couldn't fuckin wait! That's why you wanted me all along,
I fuckin knew it!"
"Dash! Wait!—" I could hear him shouting for me to stop but I already bolted out of the room not even looking back. "Dash! Stop!" echoed out his voice through the thin, house walls, Did I stop? Fuck no! I just kept running, until I was well gone from the house. I slowed my pace down as I began to run out of breath, my heart was thumping and my mind was racing. Within moments I made it back into the town. One thing I can say is… guys suck.
The memory fades away as Rainbow Dash snaps back to reality. She huffs another depressing sigh and raises the shot-glass to her lips. I sure hope that asshole catches something from that whore, ugh, this day totally blows, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done with guys. Again she felt the rough and bitter liquid cascade down her throat, at this point she didn't care about the burn in her chest, she wants to forget everything. She slams down the empty glass back onto the counter with a satisfied grin. It seems the potent alcohol was doing the trick she needed.
After a couple moments of relaxing to the smooth country music that plays through her ears. She hears several footsteps suddenly approach her. Not bothering to even take a glance at what is coming her way, she instead keeps her gaze straight ahead. She waves her hand quickly, basically calling the bartender for another round. Berrypunch smiles and walks over to retrieve the empty glass and begins to mix up another shot.
"Well, look who it is, the bitch herself…Rainbow Dash. I see you decided to come alone without your boyfriend. Say…exactly where is he? Did he finally man up and get a better girl who would actually put out?" says a sudden sarcastic voice from behind.
Rainbow Dash growls through her bare teeth as the insult sank into her ears. Besides the coarse and harshful comment that was made, the rainbow-colored athlete remains calm. Come on Dash, stay cool, don't let em get to you, they'll eventually get bored and leave you alone.
Noticing that her drink suddenly got placed back down in front of her. She hastily grabs onto the glass and takes another quick swig. Trying her best to ignore and neglect her ex's friends.
"Oh, wait, he did didn't he? Ha-ha good for him! Finally, a girl who is actually worthy ha-ha!" replies a second different kind of voice. Rainbow Dash flinches in annoyance and resentment. She began to tighten her fingers around the shot-glass even more as she placed it back down. On the other end of the bar counter sat the other girl. The brim of her stetson soon began to rise as her head tilts up allowing her eyes to witness the unamiable controversy that was clearly heard.
She knew the situation was starting to escalate and it was getting pretty grim for the rainbow-haired athlete. She then began to prepare to face some immediate consequences. The blonde takes a quick swig and quietly sets her empty glass back down onto the counter. On the other end, fingers began to squeeze the non-existent life out the shot-glass as low growls escaped the athlete's lips. The continuous vulgar insults kept haunting her ears as she was near the breaking point.Grrr… that's it! I can't take this shit any longer! Rainbow Dash whips her head to the side with a scowling enraged expression.
"Fuck off!" she snarls.
Taken back from the sudden outburst the girl roared out. The cocky, intoxicated bully forms a smirk and leans in close while holding his ear with his hand, sarcastically gesturing, like he didn't hear the girl. "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that." he replies leaning in closer.
Rainbow Dash casts a death glare and shoves the man back with a growl. "Did I fucking stutter!"
The man takes a step forward towards the girl. The smugful expression now long gone from his face. "Why…you little bitch!" he replies as he raised his hand ready to backhand her. Rainbow Dash winces at the sudden attempt to hit her. Noticing that it was too late to react, she closes her eyes in anticipation.And… the day gets worse, way to go Dash.
Suddenly, there was a blur of a hand that shot out from nowhere and grabs the man's wrist. Rainbow Dash opens her eyes and notices a blonde cowgirl, roughly the same age as herself with piercing emerald eyes and three little freckles on each cheek. She wore a brown stetson, along with a plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled up revealing her tan skin.
"Ah wouldn't do that if ah was you." the cowgirl says with a steely tone in her voice as she continues to hold onto the man's wrist. The would be assailant turns his attention away from Rainbow Dash and glares at the interceptor. With a snarl he exclaims "Or what? You're gonna stop me?"
Emerald eyes then pierce into the man's eyes with an icy and forbidding stare. "Ah will if ah have to."
After a brief moment of silence, the man then yanks his arm free of the cowgirl's grip. Stepping back towards his two companions, he takes a glance at the two girls. With his trademark smug grin he lets out a small chuckle. "So you already knew that you weren't going to be able to please a man, so you decided to try your luck with a girl."
Slightly taken aback, Rainbow Dash looks away and finishes the rest of her drink. As she sets her glass down, she lets out an exasperated sigh.
Taking a brief glance towards the cowgirl standing next to her she forms a mischievous grin and turns back towards her harasser.Ha-ha, oh man, I bet he's gonna like this one.
"It's funny how you always come to the bar alone and leave the bar alone. I wonder how long it's going to take you to admit that there's now way that you could ever please a woman. You seem to like the idea of batting for the other team, so maybe you should try it with your two butt-buddies behind you."
Now seething with rage the man lashes out from his two friends and cocks his arm back ready to deliver a careless but powerful haymaker. Before Rainbow Dash could react to the sudden assault, the cowgirl hastily darts out in front of her and grabs the man's approaching fist. Using the opponents momentum, she simultaneously pulls him towards her and returns with a devastating punch to the man's jaw. With the bully now dazed and confused, showing no sign of hesitation she immediately yanks the man back towards her. Spinning around she grabs the back of his head and slams it on top of the bar counter. As his head ricocheted back up from the counter, she picks the disoriented guy back up. With no sign of mercy, she leans her body a bit and raises her knee up to her chest. Thrusting her leg out with such velocity, she full-blown boots him in the chest, causing him to fly backwards towards his two dumbstruck friends.
"Holy shit!" Rainbow Dash yells out amazed of how the unknown country girl could fight so well. But before she could thank her, she notices that the two other guys started to storm the cowgirl. The stetson girl already readied herself for the onslaught as she knew this was only the beginning. One of the guys carelessly charges at the girl, attempting to make a tackle but quickly fails. The cowgirl was already two steps ahead of the careless moron. Before the guy could make the charging attack, the rough and tumble girl swiftly swoops down instantly. Like before, using his momentum, she lifts and pushes up with her shoulders into the guy now above her. Causing him to flip over her and sail into the air and then plummets down into a bunch of tables.
Unaware of the other guy behind her who was sneaking up to get a good hit. Rainbow Dash quickly notices that if she doesn't do something fast, the tide of this fight could be turned away from their favor. The rainbow-haired girl glances to the side and spots an empty beer bottle next to her.
That'll work! Without missing a beat, she snatches the bottle off the counter and raises it into the air. "Hey fuckhead! Have a drink on me!" she yells out as the bottle smashes onto the back of the head of the assailant, causing him to falter and collapse.
The cowgirl snaps right around to the noise of breaking glass behind her. There she see's an unconscious guy laying on the ground, and standing above him is the rainbow-haired girl with a broken bottle in her hand. Rainbow Dash notices the appreciating nod from stetson girl and forms a smirk. "Woo! Yeah! Did you see that cowgirl!" But, suddenly the country girl gave a look of horror as she could see the guy she dealt with first standing behind her new found acquaintance. "Hay! Look out!"
Rainbow Dash gives off a perplexed expression. "Huh?–" before she could react or even turn around, she was met by a barstool that collided into the side of her head. Luckily, the man was still rather out of it from the cowgirls assault earlier but still the attack did some damage. Rainbow Dash then crashes into the side of bar counter and is temporarily stunned for the moment. The stetson girl's expression quickly shifts from horrified to complete indignation. "Ya've done it now!" she yells as she sprints towards the attacker. Closing the distance from the assaulter. She got just a few feet from him until she leaps into the air.
Landing onto the bar counter with one foot, she sprung up higher into the air. High above the guy, she swings out her other leg delivering the final blow to guarantee the knock out. In a move similar to a round-house kick, her boot connects with the man's face sending him flying into a couple of tables.
Landing back onto the floor, she glances around the area, due to no surprise there was no movement or sound what so ever. The cowgirl then made her way to Rainbow Dash to see if she was alright. She carefully grabs onto the girl and spins her around slowly to check on the damage.
"Hay, are ya alright–"
*Bam!*
The sound of the bars front doors echoed throughout the place as multiple men in uniform burst through and began to raise their firearms. "Ponyville Police Department! Freeze! Put your hands on your heads and don't move!" The blonde stetson girl complies with a roll of her eyes. One of the officers grabs the girl and pushes her roughly up against the counter and handcuffs her. With a growl that escapes the cowgirls lips.
"Um, ya do know that we…" nodding her head, gesturing towards the dazed and confused rainbow-haired girl. "Are not the criminals, right?" she asks the officer. To no surprise, the cop didn't pay any mind to what she said. "I don't care, as far as I know you are all under arrest for disturbing the peace, assault and battery and destruction of public property!"
The cowgirl's emerald eyes widened at the sudden charges that were announced. "What in tarnation are ya talkin' bout'!? It was a matter of defense…" The officer grabs onto her arm and begins to escort her toward the squad of police cars outside. She notices that the other girl was being placed into a different police car. Glancing to the other side, she see's the three bullies being all put into the same squad car. The officer led the stetson girl to her ride-for-jail and opened the door. Huffing a sigh she got in and sat upright, looking towards her right and remaining silent, the officer closed the door.

The officer led the two girls towards the holding cell. Rainbow Dash and the cowgirl began to make their way into the cell, once inside Rainbow Dash moves toward the side of the cell and has a seat. "Lock up cell B!" the officer yells out loud and the gate begins to close slowly.
As Rainbow Dash sat on the opposite end of the cell from the stetson girl, her magenta eyes began to study the unknown country girl now that she had the time. There she saw the blonde girl standing against the cell wall, arms crossed looking away. Her plaid shirt had a fairly large rip, exposing some of her tan and well-toned mid-section. Perfect shaped curves of her hips that fitted her scuffed up jeans so well. Strolling down the stetson girls sensuous legs, she met the bottom where her brown and rough cowgirl boots were, in conclusion, the girl was voluptuous indeed. I'm glad that I'm finally able to get a good look at her…damn, that girl's sexy as hell…WAIT, what the hell am I thinking!
Though, Rainbow Dash was not into girls, mainly because they always seemed so stuck-up or more of a bitch. But for some odd reason she couldn't help but stare at this mysterious country girl. Something seemed intriguing, for one, she sure could hold her ground and two, she was not like the other girls. Yes, in fact she could see this blonde standing up for what is right, not only for herself but for others. Rainbow Dash knew if it wasn't for her, she'd would be in another world of pain.
Her magenta eyes soon began to trail back up, that's when she was suddenly met by a pair of emerald eyes staring at her. The blonde furrows an eyebrow in suspicion at first then forms a smirk. "Ya like what ya see or somethin' rainbow-girl?" she says with a tone of sarcasm in her voice. Taken off guard from the girl's sudden remark, Rainbow Dash realizes that she has been staring at the girl for a little longer than normally accepted and snaps out of her thoughts.
"What? N-no n-nothing like that, just in a daze. You know barstool to the head and all. heh…" she explains with a sheepish smile while rubbing the back of her sore head. The blonde gives a simple nod as she watches the rainbow-haired girl start to lay down. "Well, it's been fun, but I'm gonna get some sleep to try to get rid of this killer headache…By the way, the names Rainbow Dash, what is yours? Crouching-cowgirl-hidden-badass?"
The cowgirl lowly chuckles at the questions and the little compliment, and slowly shakes her head. "It's best ya don't know mah name, Sugarcube."
Giving the blonde girl a perplexed look, Rainbow Dash simply shrugs it off and turns her head back, lying it down onto the cold, hard bench. Huh, that's kinda odd, well, I guess if she doesn't want to tell me, she doesn't have to… Closing her eyes she began to feel the exhaustion take hold. Before Rainbow Dash fell asleep, she heard light mumbling from across the cell followed by a grunt. As her conscience starts to fade, the last thing she hears is…"It's Applejack."
