A malevolent being almost as old ponykind itself has returned, and it will soon unleash its dark powers upon the world, powers that could easily corrupt and enslave, yet whose purpose is far more sinister. Being the only ones capable of averting the impending catastrophe, the Element bearers and Spike embark on a long, arduous quest across lands not travelled for over a thousand years, all to confront the evil that awaits them at journey’s end. What the seven friends learn along the way will not only change their lives forever, but might just make all the difference between triumph and defeat. The latter is not an option, for if they fail, it’s not only Equestria that doom will befall.
