Chapter one:
This mare wakes up in her room, facing these four walls like always, gives a gentle yawn and notices a sudden breeze; she ignores it and just gets up and spreads her wings. She is Nanna, doesn’t remember since when did everypony started calling her that way, but that wasn’t going to stop anyone from doing so. She quickly went downstairs and noticed one of the frames on the wall was crooked, innocently reaffirms it and proceeds to go to the kitchen, what she didn’t notice was the odd picture, it was the only picture in the whole house she had, but it seemed faded.
Nanna thought to herself:
"Geez, there’s nothing to eat; I’ll ask the neighbor for some food."
She flew outside and spotted Chip Bit but suddenly a strange figure tackled her. Rainbow Dash stares at the mare straight to the eye and lifts a brow asking as she rubs Nanna’s mane.
"How’s my awesome niece doing?"
Nanna chuckled and said
"Aunt, stop I’m too cool for you."
In sudden awe Rainbow Dash let’s go of her niece;
"Gosh, it’s just that it’s been a long time. "
Nanna tries to remember as she looks at her aunt from ears to hooves.
"Sorry aunt, but I can’t remember the last time we were even together, it’s been a long time. "
Rainbow Dash notices a frown on Nanna’s face;
"Sorry little Nanna, it is hard being a wonderbolt…"
Trying to avoid an inconvenient she asks her niece to go out
"Hey how about we go grab a bite and catch up, little one? "
Nanna nods as her tummy growled and replied
"Sounds fine to me, I know a nice place."
Rainbow Dash winks
"How about we go to sugarcube corner and meet with some other ponies? "
Nanna hugs her aunt; you can notice a grin on her face.
"You know me so well."
Rainbow Dash smirks as she lets go of her niece,
"How about a race, young one? Like in the old days with our good friend Ninja Mare, I bet she would like to bolt with us too."
Nanna smiles widely and pushes her aunt and starts dashing through the air.
"You are too slow, aunt, catch you later."
Rainbow Dash joins her niece and stares at her dead into the eye
"Are you trying to outsmart a wonderbolt? You still have a lot to learn, little filly."
Nanna slows down when she notices her aunt has already arrived to Sugarcube Corner.
Rainbow Dash waited for Nanna to arrive. Suddenly, Pinkie Pie appeared and started talking to Rainbow Dash. Nanna arrived and received another tackle from Pinkie Pie. Pinkie hugged and squished Nanna with a huge smile on her face.
"Hey Nanna, how is it going, waffle girl! "
Nanna laughed uncontrollably and hugged back;
"Hi, did you miss me?"
Pinkie tickled her, and suddenly left her joy aside and replied in a low voice as she started to cry
"Yes I did, silly; it’s not true, it can’t be… "
Rainbow Dash gets shocked and shakes Pinkie, but accidentally pushes her and they roll against the counter.
"Hey pink one, what’s wrong? Sorry for that."
Pinkie looked at Rainbow Dash straight into the eyes with no expression on her face; the she asked in a serious voice how Soarin was doing. Rainbow Dash smiles and nods in disagreement.
"Aren’t you going to ask me that?"
Pinkie tickled Rainbow Dash and smiled,
"Of course silly, I just missed you girls a lot… It’s getting very lonely here."
Nanna rushes to Pinkie and gives her a hug as she finished talking with her last words, tears ran across her cheeks.
"I’m sorry I don’t come to visit very often, I just don’t remember the last time I saw everypony, it’s like I don’t remember anything."
As she finished talking with those last words, tears ran across her cheeks.
Rainbow Dash tries to cheer Nanna up; so she suggests they should go sit down. Rainbow Dash asks Nanna if it’s alright if she brings along a friend of hers she had invited earlier; Nanna doesn’t mind and agrees. They got plenty of time, so Rainbow Dash starts to tell Nanna about her good friend.
"You know Nanna, this mare is unique, and she is really beautiful… She’s like a sister to me, just not as cool. She’s a unicorn with a purple and violet mane; she has a faded light blue coat, and loves to sing. She’s also married and really in love with a keeper, Spectty, a hilarious brown Pegasus. You are going to love them. Watch what you say, though, because this mare is sort of depressed; they lost their beautiful daughter some time ago. She had an accident, and their daughter was about your age, eager to get her cutie mark.
Rainbow Dash giggles as she looks at Nanna hoping for a good reaction, Nanna smiles and waits for this mysterious mare so she could meet her."
As Rainbow Dash and Nanna enjoy their chat, the mysterious mare enters Sugarcube Corner. She looks around searching for Pinkie, and says in a sweet voice,
"Pinkie, where are you? Have you seen Dashy? "
Pinkie looks at the mare and trots slowly towards her, gives her a hug and points to a nearby table,
"They’re over there, enjoy your time here."
The mare thanks Pinkie Pie and orders a Choco-cake for her, asks Pinkie to deliver it with a hug and trots to Dash’s table.
Rainbow Dash smiles and introduces the mare to Nanna,
"This is the mare I told you about "
Nanna radiates as she stares at the mare and tries to introduce herself as calm as possible.
"Hi, I’m Nanna. What’s your name? Rd told me all about you."
The mare stutters and wants to hug Nanna but avoids the awkward situation and replies again with her sweet gentle voice.
"Hi, nice to meet you Nanna, what could she possibly say about a dumb pony like me?"
As she giggles and gives Rainbow Dash a wink, Nanna gets a bit confused but ignores the fact that she still doesn’t know her name and smiles. Rainbow Dash hugs the mare.
"Nanna; this is Clarity, she sings like an angel, and works with Rarity.
Clarity blushes and pulls a chair so she could sit with her fellow mares. Intrigued about Nanna, Clarity looks at her staring with her glowing cerulean eyes."
"So Nanna, how’s it been? You remind me a lot of my husband… He has that same warm smile, he used to work here, and he just loves waffles."
As Nanna seems to get along pretty well with Clarity, so she loosens up.
"Geez, I LOVE WAFFLES, he worked here? Tell him to come back and make Pinkie some company."
Clarity is shocked by the sudden rudeness of Nanna but doesn’t mind since she knows Nanna’s ways.
He really should; Pinkie doesn’t seem to get a lot of company here, since the cakes aren’t around anymore.
Pinkie appears hopping to the table with all the orders, Pinkie gives Clarity a huge hug.
"Here you have it."
Clarity smiles as she watches Rainbow Dash choke on some cupcakes. The three mares eat while Pinkie jumps around eagerly. The mares hang along as they wait for Spectty to pass by and enjoy the rest of the day with them.
