Moonlight Makes Shadows

Luna walked down a dark hall talking to herself. " How could I have done that? Why? Ponies where just starting to understand the night." Suddenly 3 fillies ran by, "Can't catch me!" yelled the 2 fillies in the front. Luna grinned seeing her 3 daughters always made her smile. "Moonflight. Sky Shadow. Dark Night. Please come here loves!" The fillies did as they were told. Moonflight being the only alicorn out of the sisters would be the princess of the night when Luna would retire. "Would you like to watch me raise the moon?" Luna asked. "YA!" the sisters replied in the same moment. They raced down the hall to the grand balcony, the largest one where Luna would raise and set the moon. Luna trotted after the fillies. Moonflight and her sisters had beaten their mother to the balcony, where they saw Aunt Tia, waiting for Luna. "Well hello, little ones." They were very little compared to their Aunt Tia and her daughter Sun Cloud who was complaining "When is Aunt Luna coming?!" Just then Luna entered the balcony where a small crowd of ponies watched. "About time!" Mumbled Sun Cloud. Luna just looked at her then Tia. " Dear sister, please teach your daughter some manners to her elders" Luna said even though she wanted to laugh acting as if she was writing a letter to her sister just like Tia's best student Twilight Sparkle, who would becoming over for diner in a few days. Moonflight watched in awe as her mom raised the moon and her aunt lowering the sun. Sun Cloud could be rude at times but, must of the time she was kind. Sun Cloud seeing that Moonflight couldn't see well she used a spell she had learned, to levitate Moonflight then rest on on her back. After watching the amazing feat Sun Cloud took Moonflight, Sky Shadow, and Dark Night to their royal chamber, even though Sun Cloud was 5 years older then the 3 sisters she would rather spend her nights with them then by herself.
