"History is part of what keeps us going forward"
I am Alex. Or 32 if you want to go by my number. I am one of the 100 Torn. The greatest project to be created in my home universe. The 100 are a group of human clones created to be turned into superhuman soldiers.
Even when we were being cultivated we were given augments and genetic advancements. We were formed on top of a skeleton made of an alloy that mimicked real bones, only they were stronger. We were given multiple implants that advanced one part of us or another. An implant to speed up information travel in neural paths, another to advance our cellular healing and many others.
We were put through advanced combat training and further augments once our development was completed. And after 25 years we were ready.
At that time humanity was advanced and had colonised many planets. Encountering only one sentient race. The Hacktha’s who joined humanity and helped it develop further.
We were created in case there were any sentient races out there that would be hostile. But for most of our lives we lived as normal humans. We had part time jobs and we all lived in a specially designed housing complex on a space station city.
Our augments and even genetic design slowed down our ageing to almost a standstill. We lived so long that we were about to be put out of commission. When a new race appeared.
They weren't from another planet. They were from a different universe. Their race hopped from universe to universe destroying planets and collecting slaves. The 100 (who had always exercised and trained) were sent out with the human army (now merged with our partner race) to defend planets. But we weren't strong enough.
They destroyed planet after planet. Enslaving any human who couldn't put up a fight and killed the rest. Eventually most of humanities army and the torn were killed off. Only five of the torn remained. And along with a starship filled with the last few humans and half breeds (the descendants of the humans and the now dead Hacktha’s).
The starship we lived on had everything it needed to support its inhabitants. And using a reverse engineered jumper drive, we left our dead universe.
On the day we left, I was 127 years old.

I was pulled from my sleep by my house mate Ryan. We had been house mates for six years. He worked as a pilot. I was a member of the scouting team.
“Why are you waking me?” I asked groaning “I need to be at the shuttles at 3”
“For someone who has lived more than a hundred years as some kind of soldier” Ryan said trying to pull me out of bed “you are really lazy”
I pushed Ryan away and sat up “I'm not lazy. I'm just enjoying my sleep”
“Well Cass wants us at the shuttle bay early” Ryan said throwing my shirt “and you’ll have to skip breakfast if we want to make it”
I sluggishly put on my shirt “you know I'm way older than you, right?”
Ryan laughed “and I look older”
I stood up and walked across my small bedroom and opened my wardrobe “I'm one of the oldest living member of this ship’s crew”
“Just get ready” Ryan said before leaving my room
I put on my casual army clothes. Grey-green canvas pants, grey shirt, dark green hooded Scout class jacket and my boots. When I got to our small living room Ryan passed me a protein bar and we walked into the halls of the utility levels. The grey corridors had enough room for four people to walk shoulder to shoulder without hitting the support bars.
We followed the signs leading to upper class and continued to the maintenance hatch that went in a straight line to the barracks and then went to the shuttle bay. When we reached the bay we saw three people in scout armour talking with Cass
“So the two sleepers arrive at last” Cass said announcing our entrance “you’re late”
“We live on the ass end of Saviour” I said with a groan “even the fast way here takes ages”
“Well put your armour on and get over here” Leo said tuning to face us
Leo was our squad’s commando and one of the other three torn. I swear that man had a stick up is ass.
We went to our lockers in our shuttle and put on our gear. I had a Class three Torn suit customised to be scout armour and Ryan had a pilot suit.
Once we were geared up we jogged to the rest of the scout team
“So we are going to bust into a new universe in fifteen minutes” Leo began “and in another 5 minutes we will be in a five planet solar system”
“How do you know that?” asked vex. The rookie scout member
“Because the jumper drive scans the next universe and gives us a map of the closes galaxy” said goggles. Our team techie and organiser
“And getting back on track” Leo said stopping the chat “we will be heading to a planet for basic surveying”
“What kind of atmosphere will it have?” Ryan asked Goggles
“The target planet is blanketed by an energy that interferes with scanning software” Goggles answered
“So were blind then” I said fiddling with the visor of my suit
“Essentially” Leo said
Then an alarm sounded “jumper drive powering down”

After collecting our weapons and getting into the shuttle we started to take off
“This is Ryan speaking” Ryan said over the intercom “please stay in your designated bracer and do not remove our id chip”
Then the engines started to rumble as they built energy
In a couple of seconds we were disconnected from the Saviour and heading towards the target planet. The interior cabin was constantly adjusting its pressure to whatever reading it got from the planet. I felt lucky my suit was air tight and adjusted differently.
When we got a message saying that we were about to enter the atmosphere everyone braced for turbulence. There was a shudder and the on-board lights dimmed as we passed through the energy field of the planet and entered the atmosphere.
After a few shaky minutes we touched down on the planet a bit two hard
“Sorry for the sharp landing” Ryan said over the intercom “the flight computer was down. Needed to perform a completely manual landing”
The scout team began to chat about what the planet would be like as they unhooked themselves from their bracers. I sat up and pulled my id chip out of my bracer, when I slid it into the side of my helmet the visor displayed a HUD showing a green dot above the rest of the teams heads. I pulled my weapons, a MRK II data blaster and a nano-drone pistol, out of the bracer
“Everyone’s helmets locked?” Leo asked walking up to the door control. After everyone answered yes he pushed the button
The door began to hiss open and my HUD gave readings of the atmosphere. Exactly like earth. No wait. A large amount of an unknown energy pattern in the atmosphere “Leo” I said activating my helmets speaker “the energy pattern is in the atmosphere. Though it is less consistent”
“Scout team” Ryan said over the intercom “the shuttles flight computer won’t come back online. Until I can fix it, were stuck here”
“That’s great!” Leo said in an annoyed tone “so were here for an extended stay?”
“I believe so sir” Ryan answered
“Then let’s start our mission”

The Alicorn then left her balcony and headed towards her sisters bedroom
