Chapter I: Shimmer's First Day
My name is Shimmer Rose, and I am very shy. It taking a lot to tell you this story, but I'll pull through. Anyway, it all started on my first day of middle school. I was walking past my cousin, Derpy's house as she came out. She was 10 years older than me so she called "hey squirt!" I waved a shy wave and quietly walked on. Yes, I'm shy around my family too. One reason I am shy is because of my blank flank. I was 10 and still didn't have it. I was definetly an outcast. Anyway, I finally got to school and was greeted by a snooty pink filly with a purple and white mane, followed by a grey filly with a light grey mane and glasses.
"Well well well, a new student. Hopefully, not another blank flank" retorted the pink one. I threw my tail around my flank in embarrassment and flew off. I could tell that they were not going to be fun. I landed away from them in the back of the classroom. I think I'll just sit back here. I took a seat as the rest of the class came in. The first one I saw was my adopted cousin, Dinky, daughter to Derpy and Time Turner. She was two years younger than me so she wen't to another room connected to my classroom. Then, the bullies came in. Great I thought sarcastically.
Everypony else filed in and the teacher, much to my annoyance, said "Everypony, today we have a new student. Come on up, Shimmer Rose." I shyly made my way up to the front but kept my head down. "This is Shimmer Rose. Say hello, everypony."
"Hi!" yelled the entire class. Well, all except the pink and grey fillies.
"Diamond Tiara? Silver Spoon? Aren't you going to greet our new student?"
They rolled their eyes and said slately in unsion "hi."
I didn't stick around any longer. I flew back to my seat and sunk down into it. This was definitely going to be a long school year.
Before long, lunch came. I grabbed my lunch our of my saddle bag and sat down at a far away table. I wanted nothing to do with those snobs and their friends. Sadly, I only got 5 minutes of silence before the bully brigade showed up. "I couldn't help bur notice while you were being introduced that you were a blank flank. Your just a stupid, talentless nopony that nopony cares about. Hahaha!" remarked Diamond Tiara. I started to cry but was startled out of it by a crash of thunder. A bolt of lightning hit the ground between her and I. We looked up to find a blue pegasus colt standing atop a thunderhead. I was astonished to see him for two reasons; one being that he did that and two, because he was wearing a hat. Your probably wondering, why because he's wearing a hat? Well, it's because pegasi don't wear hats, they get in the way of our flying. Interesting... I thought.
"You leave Shimmer Rose alone you bullies" the mysterious colt yelled down at us. "Go pick on somepony with your own brain capacity." I laughed at that but got a death glare from Diamond and Silver. "Didn't you fillies hear me? I said go away!" Frightened, the bully brigade galloped off and the colt landed beside me.
"Thank you, uhhh..." crap! I don't know his name! Oh, how embarrassing! He saw my reaction and chuckled. I got scared and flew off. I could still hear him laughing. Seconds later, however, he was in front of me. Hmmm... odd. His wings are bigger than a normal pegasus our age. What is up with this colt? I thought.
"It's Autumn Leaf" he stated.
"huh?"
"My name is Autumn Leaf. I saw you this morning as you were being introduced and thought ' a blank flank? uh oh'" I covered my flank with my tail once more. It was already bad having one, but I now had every stinkin pony pointing it out. Suddenly, the bell rang. Yes! Saved by the bell!" With that, I flew off to class.

Chapter II: Wait a sec...PRINCE Autumn Leaf!?
The rest of the day went by surprisingly fast and as the final bell rang, I broke into a gallop then into flight. I wanted to get away as fast as I could but something kept dragging me down. That "something" being Autumn Leaf and the suspicious stuff I had noticed about him. I stopped mid-flight. Why would he be wearing a hat? We can't wear hats unless we want to fly badly I thought before being tackled. Eep. I turned my head behind me to see Autumn, laughing his head off at my ridiculous reaction. "Okay okay, I deserved that" I told him jokingly.
"I know, that's why I did it." He laughed once more. I didn't get it at first but it slowly started to sink in after a while. OHMYGOSH! I is he flirting with me!? My face then got beet red and that caught Autumn off guard. "What?"
I got even redder. "Nothing! Hehe it's just that I...uh...don't feel so well. I have to go!" I waved my hooves back and forth then flew off in embarrassment. Well, that didn't exactly go as planned. He flew after me, somehow knowing that I had lied. I turned to see something that I hadn't noticed before. He had metal embedded in his wings...ouch. But why? I wondered. He stopped as soon as I did. Then he flew fast to come in front of me, his cap flying off. That's when everything started to make sense. Under his cap, he had hidden a horn. His wings were the same ones as the rare pegasi breed called the metasi, pegasi that have technological wings. They lived in a far away kingdom under rule of it's own royal family. Then it hit me. "Oh my gosh! Your that run-a-way prince from Metatra!" I half yelled half squeaked.
His face showed shock that I had figured that out, apparently not aware that his hat had fallen down to the ground. "How did you-"
"Your hat. It fell off. I mean, I had thought from the beginning that you wearing a hat was strange, not to mention your wings." Suddenly, he looked sick to his stomach. His wings snapped to his sides and he started to fall. I flew after him as fast as I could, not paying attention to the windburn I was getting on my cheeks. I finally got down under him and caught him, paying more attention now to the closely incoming ground. I flapped my wings as hard as I could to try and get some wind under us and sure enough, that is what happened. On my way back up, I grabbed his hat so his secret would, well, stay a secret. Then, after his hat was placed firmly on his head, I flew off towards my house, to see what was wrong and to maybe get some answers.
Ten minutes later, I arrived back at my house, my mom shocked by the colt on my back. "What happened and who is he!?" She asked, flying to my side. I look nothing like my family, even more so my mom. With her light brown coat and even browner mane, she looked more like my dad than her own sister...probably cause she was adopted. Anyway, she took us inside and to a spare room, where I set him down on the bed, where mom then checked his wings out. According to my mom, he had bruised his wings by going to fast. Oh my gosh, I caused this... I thought, my face dimming.
"What are we going to do mom?" I asked, looking at his bruised wings. The bruises were starting to show now, and let me tell you, they were bad.
"I don't know...tell you what, why dont you go adventuring with dad and I will take care of your friend...what is his name?"
"Autumn Leaf. His name is Autumn Leaf, and he's a prince" I whisper the prince part. Mom's eyes bulged open. "By, mom!" Next thing I did was fly out the door.

Chapter III: A Very Cutie Mark Worthy Journey...Maybe ^-^
After the whole incident, and while mom took care of Autumn, I went exploring with my dad. My dad was an earth pony so once again, I didn't look anything like him. Adventuring was our favorite thing to do but today, it seemed kinda slow. I guess that the thought of my one and only friend being hurt because me made me feel like I had been kicked in the flank by a griffin. "You ok sweetie?" said my dad as we came into a forest opening in Whitetail Woods.
"I'm fine dad," I said, looking around, " I am gonna look by that waterfall."
"Fine, but dont fall in." I ignored his concern by blanking out my brain. I had to get away from everypony...it was driving me crazy. The attention that is, that and the sympathy. So I started trotting towards the waterfall. For some reason, I was being pulled towards it and before I could stop myself, I flew into the waterfall. When I opened my eyes after that, I saw that I had landed in a super huge meadow filled with these blue roses that looked like they were shimmering. I gasped. Oh my gosh! I have never seen this type of flower! Hmmm does this mean that I have discovered a new breed?! I flew through the shimmering flowers, trying to think of what to call them. Then it hit me.
"That's it! Shimmera Rosieallas or Shimmer Roses! Ooh...what is this big house doing here?" I wondered as I almost crashed into the manor. "It must of been built here before the flowers grew. It also looks like it hasn't been lived in for years. I wonder..." I didn't know how long I had been wandering around but from the other side of the waterfall, I heard dad yelling for me. He was getting closer too. Once he came across the other side, he saw my flank start to glow. Then a shimmering blue rose became my cutie mark and I jumped for joy. "Dad? Can I by chance move here? It's nice, secluded, and closer to school. I am ready to do this dad." He nodded slowly and we walked back home.
Back at my parent's place, yes...not my place, my parent's place. Anyway, back to the story. So when we got back, I saw that Autumn at least was awake. I had brought him a shimmera rosieallas to tell him about my findings. I had also wanted to try to see if it had a healing power of some sort. Worth a try anyway. Autumn looked happy as I trotted through the door and when he saw my cutie mark, his smile got bigger. "You got your cutie mark! That's great!" he said, hugging me from his bed.
"I...er...I wanted to test something and since you are the only pony here with an injury, you are my new test subject" I held up the flower and put it on his chest. Sure enough, It dematerialized and the bruises on his wings disappeared.
"Haha! It worked!" Autumn jumped up and down, his hat once again falling off. "Oops."
"You really weren't kidding!" mom shockingly said to me.
"You knew?" father asked. Mom nodded to him, still slightly shocked by the fact that I was telling the truth, considering that that was kinda rare for me. I suddenly got a happy feeling and dragged Autumn off to Whitetail Woods, to my new house and discovery.
