Baltimare, Equestria
I stared down the army with Faelan, Spike, Valerian, and Nova who were standing in a semicircle in front of me. “Faelan and Nova, do what you can to try and free the army from their possession. Spike, Valerian, you’re with me.” I ordered as I took off in a full sprint towards the army with my sword in my right hand. An earth pony ran forwards to attack me but I jumped up and landed my right foot on the bridge of his snout, hearing a cracking sound as I bounded off of him and towards the front of the army.
One of the unicorns was at the front and let a magical bolt loose at me, it connected with my chest but didn’t phase me much as adrenaline coursed through my body. I slammed the pommel of the sword into the base of their horn as I landed. They nearly crumpled to the ground by the blow but started to get back up before I kicked them in the temple, knocking them out. I saw Valerian fly towards me and hold his hand to me, I reached up to grab it as three pegasi charged me. I was caught by Valerian and flung into the air as the three pegasi slammed into each other and fell to the ground unconscious.
I sailed through the air towards the large black dragon towards the back who had reeled back and was preparing to set me aflame. I pulled the ring out of my hair and put it onto my finger as it turned into a shield just as the flames were upon me. I could feel the heat through the gemstone shield as I started to drop faster towards the dragon before the shield turned back into the ring. The dragon tried to go dodge backwards but I slammed into its chest with my sword, rebounding but not leaving it without damage. The area I had hit had caved under the blow and left a nasty gash in the dragon's chest as it roared in pain. Spike slammed into his side, toppling him over as Valerian landed beside us before charging at the dragon. The dragon quickly knocked him away with his tail as it stood up and used its wings to charge towards Spike. Spike readied himself but was no match as he was flung through the air before slamming into a stone brick building and the wall toppled down on top of him.
Valerian had gotten back up and landed hard on the dragons left wing as I saw blood splatter, he had broken the bone at the base and it was jutting through the scales. It roared in agony as it slammed its claw into Valerian who caught it in his grasp. “GET HIS OTHER WING!” He yelled to me as I nodded my head and charged at the dragon who clearly understood what he had told me. I saw his tail just in time as I jumped onto it as he flung it upwards and I landed on the roof of the apartment building Spike had been slammed into.
I quickly got up and looked over the edge as the dragon had gotten rid of Valerian and was now climbing the side of the building towards me. I got onto the ledge and jumped down towards the dragon with my sword held at arms length. It opened its mouth to try and breath fire at me but was cut off as Spike busted through the window it had just past and shoved his sword into the dragons neck. It started to fall backwards as it tried to roar in pain again but couldn’t. “COMING THROUGH!” I shouted as Spike got out of the way as the dragon fell. I shifted in the air and put my sword above my head with the tip pointing directly down. The dragon hit the ground with enough force that I could hear the building behind me shaking but it didn’t deter me as I slammed into the dragons stomach and the sword buried itself deep in its organs. It wasn’t too soft of a landing as my legs crumpled and I fell to the side as the dragon shook me off. It rolled over and got up as the blood dripped from its injured wing, stomach, and neck. I went to stand but my left leg almost gave out as I limped forwards, slowly picking up speed as the dragon turned around to flee. It didn’t take long for me to be at a full on sprint, wincing as weight was put on my leg. The dragon was trying to flounder through the air but its broken wing made it impossible.
I caught up to it and reached up and grabbed the sword as I dragged it forwards through the dragons underbelly as a shower of blood rained down behind me. The dragon quickly dropped to the floor and slid for a few feet before stopping behind me as blood drenched me from head to toe. I could hear the dragon trying to breath as I turned around and walked to its head. It looked at me with fear in its eyes, a once mighty dragon killed by a mere human.
“Tell Grimoire, true hell awaits him in Equestria.” I growled as I stabbed my sword through its open eye and into its brain as it went limp. Spike walked over to me as he held Valerians arm over his shoulders to help him walk, Valerian wasn’t in all too good of a shape as his left wing had a couple of gashes in them from the dragon we had just killed. His leg and side didn’t look in any better shape either.
“Did you...did you kill him?” Spike sputtered as he looked at it in horror. I nodded my head in confirmation.
“I doubt he will stay like this for long Spike, he is one of Grimoire Dusk’s soldiers.” I informed him as I turned towards the body as the black that had tainted his scales had started to fade into the air and float away, leaving a red dragon with tan wings in its place. My heart sunk into the pits of my stomach as I recognized the dragon. I shut my eyes tight and turned away from the sight of Sylor, Faelan’s brother, lying dead in front of me, and by my hands.
