Two guards were guarding, the cell where King Sombra was trapped in a crystal. Another guard came up and went over to the first one.
“The king wants you right away!” He said. The other guard nodded and ran down the hallway and around a corner. The guard pulled out his sword and smiled darkly.
“Wha-What are you doing?!” The other guard, named Sapphire, asked pulling out his own sword. The other guard swung, and Sapphire dodged it. He swung back and hit the guard in the leg. The guard yelled in pain and he swung again and Sapphire blocked it with his own sword.
“WHAT IS HE DOING?!” Sapphire thought. He pushed back the guard and he swung again and the guard hit the floor missing. The sword got stuck in the wall and Sapphire tried to get it out. The guard got up and Laughed darkly before stabbing his right in the chest and leaving it in his body. Sapphire, collapsed and fell to the floor. He was gasping for breath, as the guard went into the cell and got out something that glowed. Sapphire gasped as the crystal broke and Sombra got his soul and stepped out of his prison. He walked over to Sapphire and bent down and smiled darkly.
“Tell your king and queen, that Sombra is back, and there will be no way that they can stop me.” He said before walking down the hallway and up the stairs. Sapphire pulled the sword out and slowly, and weakly got to his hoofs and began to limp as fast as he could down the hallway. He started to climb up the stairs before he collapsed and yelled out in pain. Sombra made his way through the castle and out the main door and snuck into Equestria, and started to head towards the capital of Canterlot. The guard shifted back to its changeling form and hissed before following the King into the camp. The darklings were nowhere to be seen. Sombra cleared his throat.
“COME OUT MY FOLLOWERS!! WE WILL GET REVENGE ON PRINCESS LUNA AND CELESTIA FOR THEIR HELP IN INPRISONING ME! THEN WE SHALL TAKE EQUESTRIA AND THEN THE CRYSTAL KINGDOM! THEN THEY WILL ALL BE MINE!!!” He yelled. The darklings came out of the tree line as more and more kept coming. Sombra smiled darkly seeing his force of over 400,000 darklings. He laughed darkly, and it could be heard all the way to the Crystal Kingdom.
A guard who was coming into the prison cell in the Crystal Kingdom saw, Sapphire in pain and collapsed on the steps.
“COME ON! WE HAVE TO GET YOU TO A HOSPITAL!” He said helping him up. Sapphire shook his head.
“Take me to the King and Queen first.” He rasped. The guard nodded and helped him up the stairs, and towards the throne room. The guard helped Sapphire in who bowed his head.
“I am sorry to interrupt, but I have bad news. King Sombra has escaped.” He said.
King Sombra looked down at Canterlot.
“NO ONE CAN STOP ME!!!” Sombra yelled laughing darkly as the darklings hissed their agreement.
“WHAT?!” The king yelled.
Sapphire shrunk back a little, but stood tall again and fought the pain in his chest.
“He escaped, by a guard who had told another one to come see you tricking him, and then fought me and I got severely injured. He said, that nothing will stop him now, and he will want revenge on Luna and Celestia, for imprisoning him.” He said gulping.
The queen shook her head and stepped down from the throne and went over to the guard.
“No one will be able to stop him?” She asked the guard.
The guard nodded “Yes my queen.” He said as pain surged through him.
“WE OUGHTA EXECUTE YOU FOR LETTING HIM GET AWAY!!” The king yelled.
The other guards eyes went wide as owls. “KING!! HE TRIED HIS BEST, AND HE WAS SEVERELY INJURED!!! HOW DO YOU EXPECT HIM TO GO AFTER HIM?!” He asked shocked.
The king snorted “All the guards in this kingdom are military trained. They should be able to fight through the pain and chase after him. If he couldn’t do that, then he has no right here in our kingdom.” He bellowed.
Sapphire was just staring at the floor now. “He wants to throw me out, just because I was injured badly, and I couldn’t get him?! I could have been killed trying to defend that crystal!” He thought horrified at the thought of being thrown out of the kingdom he had been born and raised in. He looked back up at the king and queen.
“If you want to throw me out, then so be it! But if King Sombra come around and tries, to take back this Kingdom, don’t come crying back to your best guard.” He said spitting. The king looked at him and nodded.
“Bold words.” He thought.
Sapphire started to head towards the door limping. The other guard, couldn’t dare to see his friend in pain, and helped him.
“Wait!” The king said. Sapphire turned his head to look back at the king. “Emerald! Get him to the hospital. He needs to rest up to get back on guard duty.” He said. Sapphire smiled at Emerald. Emerald smiled back at his friend and helped out the door and towards the hospital.
A frightened journalist was hiding in the bushes at Sombra’s camp. He began to write in his notepad.
King Sombra, has a force of over 400,000 darklings. He is training vigorously, and he looks like he is getting ready for a way against us. He has said to them, that he will crush all that stand in his way and that he will take Canterlot and kill Luna and Celestia. He will continue on later that night, he wrote, to Stalliongrad to capture the city as well. He has said it multiple times, by now and he will not stop looking back towards the castle. The journalist gulped hoping no one would find him PLEASE TAKE CAUTION CANTERLOT AND STALLIONGRAD! BE PREPARED FOR AN ATTACK! He wrote the last line and quietly snuck out of the camp and around the darklings, and ran as fast as he could towards the news paper office. Too bad the warning was not taken seriously.
