The crusaders let out long screams of terror as they floated through the portal. They felt solid ground beneath their hooves, and looked around to see Ponyville in ruins.
"What happened?" asked Apple Bloom.
"I think..." Sweetie Belle said, trembling, "we've traveled in time!"
A black pony with translucent blue wings flew right past them.
Scootaloo swore. "-it's a changeling!!!"
"It's a changeling!!!" said five more voices, mimicking Scootaloo
The Crusaders ran from the location which they were standing, and stopped in front of the library.
"What... happened?" asked Apple Bloom
The library's bark was singed, the leaves were falling... dead.
And worst of all, it was snapped in half.
They looked at the fallen half to see a purple body of a dragon with green scaled running down the back.
"SPIKE!!" screamed the Crusaders.
Sweetie Belle checked Spike's pulse.
"He's dead!" she screamed.
"And get used to it!" said a voice.
The three fillies turned around to see Rarity. She was wearing a grey track coat, white saddlebags with red crosses painted on them, and had something chained around her neck.
"There are going to be a LOT of deaths in this war, girls!" she said.
"War!?" said Scootaloo.
"Yes, war" said Rarity, putting her rear left hoof out as a changeling rushed at her, crushing its skull. She didn't even stop to wipe the blood off of her hoof.
She turned around and bent over.
there was a loud RIIIP!! as Rarity took a bit out of the changeling's stomach.
Screaming in horror, the Crusaders ran from the library.
