Nopony knew what would happen, it was completely unexpected.
The day had started off as normally as it would in Ponyville. Celestia rose the sun when Luna set the moon, stallions and mares awoke to begin their daily businesses, fillies and colts woke up groggily to begin a reluctant new, school day and not even the former holders of the Elements of Harmony were up to anything strange. Everything was normal.
Speaking of the Elements of Harmony, out in the lush green fields outside of Ponyville were the six mares, enjoying a nice celebratory picnic over their latest triumph of evil.
"Ah have a bad feelin' 'bout today girls." Said Applejack, looking at the sky.
"Nonsense Applejack, today is just grand. Why would anything go wrong?" Questioned Rarity, looking where her southern friend was looking.
"Ah don't know Rares, it's just mah instinct. Don't you think it's too peaceful, even for us?"
"Personally, I'm glad for that fact." Said a lavender alicorn with a chuckle. "No Discord messing anything up in the name of ‘fun’, no changeling threat, and definitely, no tyrannical centaurs from Tartarus sucking away our magic." She said matter of factly, which is often.
"Ah know Twahlight, and I'm happy about it too, but Ah'm still feelin' iffy."
Rainbow Dash flew down from her cloud and looked Applejack in the face. "Come on AJ, lighten up already! We're having a picnic for Celestia's sake."
The egoistic mare had a point for once in her life. This was supposed to be a time of joy, not of danger and ill nurtured feelings. Applejack sat down and joined her friends in their merrymaking, but the feeling of danger still lingered in the back of her mind. And only ten minutes after returning home, that feeling came to fruition. Out of nowhere, a crystal the size of Canterlot Castle flew from the highest points of the sky, to the ground in a second. The earthquake rattle the whole town and dust covered the mysterious object.
"What is that thing!?" Yelled a bystander, scared for her and her children. Before anypony could get close, a rumble shook the earth and above the dust rose a giant, bipedal, one eyed monster with pommels for hooves. Its single red eye looked down upon the village and its citizens. Raising one of its arms, it didn't take a pony of Twilight's intellect to understand what it was going to do.
"Scatter!!" Yelled Twilight and the other Elements, and immediately the citizens did so before the arm came crushing down.
The monster was merciless, attacking anything and everything in sight. Buildings, the town hall, the fountain even. It made no difference to the beast. Nothing made a difference...until it's attention was drawn elsewhere. No sounds were made except for the monster's elongated grunting. It's singular eye looking to the head of a hill near its left side. Everypony in the village looked to where it was looking and saw another creature. But this creature was nothing like the one terrorising the town right now.
This creature was smaller, much smaller than the behemoth, but still tall enough to stand a little above Princess Celestia and also stood on two legs. It was garbed by a long, black clock that went halfway down its hindlegs, being held on by a large golden broach. The rest of its legs being covered by rugged and slightly town dark blue clothing and what seemed similar to shoes, but these were much larger than a pony's shoe. It's muzzle was mostly covered by the cloak but what showed was no hair at all except for it's very long, dark crimson mane that sat atop it's head that was tied back with a metal band. The eyes were covered by sunglasses but one lense was missing which showed a single, blue eye. Underneath said eye were three red triangles placed in a curved line and a blue mark running across the muzzle, almost like a scar.
"Who is that?" Questioned the young alicorn, looking up in wonder with her companions.
"Help us! Please help!" Yelled Fluttershy, her voice reaching levels nopony had ever heard before. A gust of wind mysteriously blew, flapping the coat open and a large, gold cylinder was seen attached to it's arm. A soft blue light emitted from its top.
"It has moved." It whispered, the deep tone depicting the being as a male. "Soil, is my power!" His loud words like a resounding command.
From that same command, the gold tube on his foreleg produced a spiral out of the previously glowing blue light. Without even a warning, four spikes pierced out of the spiral and began to spin like a windmill. Like magic, the tube began to glow wholely and immediately split apart into millions of tiny fragments that whirled around the being's appendage.
One by one, the fragments of magical metal rejoined itself onto its master's arm. But one by one, they made a different shape to the metal tube it was before. By the time all the pieces had been rejoined to one another, the former gold tube turned into what looked like a golden weapon, similar to that of the smaller weapon nestled in the being's side. It was long, had three barrels at the front which extended to the back, the same spiral as before poking on the right side and a beating, black heart in a glass ball.
"The Magun, has thawed." Said the robed being, his tone laced with what Rainbow Dash called 'awesomeness'.
"Magun?" Was that the name of the weapon? What can it do to save the town?
Pointing a claw-like appendage at the monster, the being yelled. "The soil charge triad to use on you has been decided!" Bringing his free claw down to his uncovered torso, he grabbed a small, golden tipped and ended tube with some sort of black material inside it. "The origin of all things, Mother Black." He said calmly, flicking the tube into the air. Without delay, three suction cups opened from the back of the weapon and one was filled with the casing before closing once more.
"Is that sand? Is he planning fighting that thing with dirt?!" Barked a miffed Rainbow Dash as she saw what the weapon's components.
"A heat that will scorch all creation, Fire Red." Said the crimson-haired creature, showing a red capsule this time before it floated into another barrel and closed.
"That's impossible," muttered Twilight, her eyes shrinking to pinpricks. Her friends looked to her in confusion and worry. "the amount of magic that thing is radiating is impossible. It's stronger than the Princesses!"
By only hitting his belt, another capsule flew upwards and spun in the air. "And finally, the critical point of everything, Burning Gold." The final capsule drifted into the last barrel and it closed. The effects were immediate, the black heart belated faster and faster, the spiral spun incredibly fast, and the three holes glowed a bright purple. "Burn up! I summon you! Phoenix!" He yelled demandingly, as he shot his weapon. A plume of smoke first and loud bang first emerged from the shot, but soon after, a whirling noise and three streaks of the same colours he implanted shooter out. But it seemed hopeless when the monster raised his fist to block.
It appeared to have done absolutely nothing except absorb the attack. But that was a mistake. Not even two seconds after absorbing the supposed assault, the monstrous creature's body began to spasm out of control, its groans starting to sound like pained ones. The creature clutched its stomach in pain, until it expanded like a helium balloon. The creature just kept expanding and expanding, it even began to glow red like it was overheating, which was accurate, because not even a moment after glowing red, the monster burst into flames and died.
The flames burned but stayed in the one area it originated. The one that had killed the creature just remained on the hill it stood on, looking on at the flames that were...moving?
The flames irregularly churned and swirled uncontrollably. And from the flames, flew a giant, red, metal bird with flames protruding from it's head and wings. Giving majestic, metallic caws of what may have been appreciationm the grand Phoenix flew into the sky that mysteriously shattered like glass and repaired itself when the firebird had left through the spatial hole.
"What...just..happened?" Muttered Pinkie Pie as she continued to look at the sky. Not even she had any form of quip to speak of after today's event. It was certainly a spectacular and dangerous day today. Who was the one who saved them? And..
"WHERE DID HE GO???!!" Screamed the lavender alicorn, distressed upon seeing the hill deserted. At once, she teleported herself and her friends to the hill where he was just moments ago. They found him, walking towards the entrance of the Everfree Forest. She called out to him multiple times asking him to stop and wait, or not to enter the forest. "Wait!" She yelled, finally the biped stopped and turned his head slightly towards the ponies. "Whoever you are, thank you for saving our town."
Almost like he thought it was a pointless phrase, the biped continued to walk on without even so much as saying 'you're welcome'. But it was short lived.
"Halt!" Yelled an armoured pony, his golden spear raised to the being's head. "Drop your weapon!" No response from the red head. "Drop it!" Commanded the pony once more.
"I cannot." He replied, not even bothering to try and remove the weapon, and from what it looked like, that looked incredibly hard to do.
"Then you are hearby under arrest." Said the guard. All of the mares' eyes widen to dinner plates at the astonishment.
"Wait, stop! What're you doing?" Pleaded Pinkie Pie, her happy demeanour dwindling devastatingly fast. The guard simply looked at her with a stoic expression.
"Arresting an unidentified creature that is highly dangerous, is carrying an unidentified and illegal weapon, and terminated the life of another being." He explained. It made sense but in the circumstances, it didn't sit well with any of the mares. And especially not to Rainbow Dash.
"That mushroom thing was detroying Ponyville for no reason! It deserved what was coming to it!" She barked as she flew right into the face of the guard, pushing it forward with her strength.
The guard pushed back. "The law still stands, killing is illegal."
This time, it was Rarity's turn to get angry. "The nerve of you! This dashing young..." The fashionista's words traveled off elsewhere when she realised none of them knew what he was. "Uhh, pardon me, what are you exactly?" She asked embarrassed, her cheeks sporting a tinge of pink.
The biped drew his uncovered eye to the mare and for what seemed like hours, said nothing to her. It was rather awkward, until he relented and answered her. "Windarian." He said.
"This dashing, young Windarian saved an entire town while you guards were doing nothing but biding your time to get here!"
"This is blasphemy!"
"No, arresting somepony who's completely innocent is blasphemy!" Yelled Twilight right back at the stallion.
"Enough." Bellowed a regal, yet angered voice from above. Looking up, Princess Celestia flew down to the ground from the skies. Everypony bowed to her, except for the Windarian. The white alicorn trotted towards the biped and looked dead into his eyes. "Were you the one who caused the creature to attack my student's home?" She asked.
Almost like something snapped, the Windarian whipped out a smaller version of the same weapon he used before. "Never. Don't lump me together with that scum." He said threateningly, almost physically shoving the weapon in the princess' forehead.
Igniting her horn, Celestia moved the alien' swarm down from her head and spoke softly. "Forgive me, I did not mean to offend you, but I had to make sure you weren't purposely trying to hurt my little ponies. I am Princess Celestia, I command the daytime and the sun here in Equestria, as well as one of its two rulers. For what you've done for my student, her friends and their homes, thank you. What is your name, noble warrior?" She asked the being. It was a good question, they couldn't just call him 'alien' or 'creature' or 'him' for the rest of his life.
"Kaze."
"Princess!" Beckoned another make voice, from behind the princess another stallion appeared, covered in perspiration. "Forgive me madam, but we have received word from Prince Shining Armour and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza that the crystal empire is under attack."
"Is it Sombra again?"
"No ma'am, the report says it's a giant creature that's as tall as half the castle."
"Looks like there's another one of those monsters on the loose. Mister Kaze, will you please help my little ponies in their time of need? You seem to be the only one who knows how to handle these creatures, given your demonstration of power earlier."
"What's the fastest way to this empire?" Was all he asked before the ponies and Windarian made their way to the train station. In that same day, the world came to know of the name 'Kaze' and his power of summoning the power of gods.
