EUP Chronicles: Captain Equestria

Two Pegasus ponies were flying through the sky.

One, the mare, was holding a basket in her hands as she and her husband were flying as fast as they could.

They were trying to escape from something or someone.

“Hopefully we can make it to Canterlot...” the stallion said. “We have to

get this formula to the EUP... They're the only ones who will be able to

help us.”

“Yes we...” the mare looked behind her as a small group of five pegasus

commandos flew toward them. “DAMNIT!”

The orange pegasus baby with purple mane and tail stirred in her basket with

a purple blanket covered in yellow stars. The foal was completely oblivious to the commotion taking place around her.

The two Pegasi decided to perform evasive flying measures to escape their pursuers. All while the foal slept. The five commandos flew faster to catch up with the two. One of the attacks caused the stallion to fly out right, with the

stallion staying behind to hold them off.

“Star Wind!” the mare shouts back at her husband.

“Whirlwind! Get to Canterlot now! Warn Nightlight and Princess Celestia. NOW!”

Whirlwind nodded and flew away. Star Wind noticed two flying past him and after his wife. He was too late to stop them, but he did face down the other three. One flew at him and Star Wind roundhouse kicked him in the gut, which sent the stallion flying back. The other two responded to this by double teaming Star Wind. Giving the third time to recover and deal the

final blow. In which the third commando pulled out a knife and slammed it into the neck of Star Wind, killing him within a few seconds.

Unlike Star Wind, Whirlwind never knew how to fight. She was a scientist and working a powerful nano machine serum to create super soldiers for ATM. However the CEO of ATM, Granite Stone was a tyrant to his workers, and had been under many investigations in the past. All had been closed down due to lack of evidence. If Whirlwind was able to get her foal and the only sample inside her daughters basket to the current head scientist of the Earth Unicorn and Pegasus Armed Forces, then maybe they might have the evidence to start a new investigation. It was the only way to stop this corporation from giving their secrets to the Griffin Empire. For if they got their hands on superior technology, then they would invade Equestria and Equestria would fall to their claws.

Whirlwind noticed she was getting close to Canterlot. Just almost over the Everfree Forest. She knew she could make it all of the way. The two pegasi commandos were rejoined with the other three. Whirlwind knew her husband was now dead. The father of her foal was now gone and she was the only one who could raise her.

“Why can't we just use a gun on her?” one of the five commandos asked his leader.

“I totally forgot we had them. However, it is only a sniper rifle, and I must assemble it.” The five stopped in the air as the leader pulled his back rifle case off and opened it to assemble his rifle. Whirlwind took this time to fly as fast as she could. Hopefully, she would make it when they were trying to catch up to her.

It seemed like hours but she finally saw the Canterlot skyline. Her destination in sight, Whirlwind flew closer towards the EUP Research and Development building, near the royal palace. It was where she would find a certain unicorn stallion, who worked there.

Nightlight just left the building and saluted the two unicorn guards on duty. They returned the salute and locked up the building. He was on his way home to his family for the night. They were going to have a family game night like they always did on Wednesdays. However, tonight was going to change radically for the entire family.

“Dr. Nightlight!” Whirlwind shouted as she flew closer to the unicorn doctor. As she landed the guards stopped her from getting closer to Nightlight. However Nightlight ordered them to stand down.

“Don't worry. She's with me.” he said. “Whirlwind, what are you doing here so late, and where is Star Wind?”

Whirlwind embraced her friend with a hug before holding up the basket with her foal and the serum she had hidden under her foal. “Thank Faust I made it here, Nightlight. Star Wind is dead, ATM commandos killed him on the way to you. I only brought my daughter and the serum. I need to make sure she and the formula are safe. Please...”

She was cut off by a bullet flying through her chest. The bullet was stoppedby magic from Nightlight, as he looked up and sighted the five commandos, their leader holding the smoking rifle. Whirlwind fell into his arms as he held her, telling her to hang on. The guards noticed the commandos too and used their magic to capture the five and bring them closer. Their magical bindings were tight enough to prevent any movement, in case they had any cyanide pills.

Nightlight was informed that help was on it's way. Unfortunately, Whirlwind was slowly dying and would not last when help arrived.

“Stay with me Whirlwind...” Nightlight said. “Help is on it's way.”

Whirlwind shook her head as her breath became more and more ragged. “We both know they won't make it in time Nightlight. Just don't let them have the serum. Don't let them harm my daughter, Scootaloo. They will use her to get their hands on it...”

“I promise Whirlwind...”

Nightlight sat across from the Song family: Whirlwind and Star Wind. A pregnant Whirlwind rubbed her ever increasing belly as they listened intently to Nightlight on their current project.

“So, you'll finish the formula and get it to the EUP?”

“We'll do whatever we can, Nightlight. But Granite Stone is a tyrant, we all know this. He'll use his team of lawyers if the commandos fail to capture the formula.” Star Wind said.

“I want you to promise that you will take care of our foal if anything were to happen to us.” Whirlwind said.

“You have my word on it...” Nightlight said.

With that memory flashing through Nightlight's head. Whirlwind Song passed away, just as the sirens for the ambulance were heard and help drew near...

SEVERAL MONTHS LATER

“I can assure you Mr...” Celestia said, forgetting the lawyer's name.

“Storm Wind!” Storm Wind, a pegasus stallion said. “Look, Your Highness... My defendants are already acquitted in the murder of the Song family. Now, Mr. Stone just wants what belongs to ATM. Then your little witch hunt against ATM must end.”

“I've told Mr. Stone and every lawyer he has employed to his company that it is now property of the EUP Research and Development Division. Plus it's now royal property. You can take me to court as many times you want. But I will NOT give you the serum once it's been given to the military. That is the law, and I will want it examined even further. It may be used for our own soldiers.”

“But that is a highly advanced serum! Containing the latest in nano machine technology! What does the EUP plan to use ATM property?”

“We'll find uses for it. So I ask you to please leave and never come back for the formula again. If you want to bring me to court so you can be made a laughing stock, you may do so. But be warned you can not ruin the life and career of the sole ruler of Equestria like you did every investigator.”

“This is not over!” Storm Wind said. “We'll get our property back one way or another!”

With that, the angry lawyer was escorted out of the palace by royal guards. Nightlight entered the throne room as Storm Wind walked past him, glaring at the unicorn doctor as he left.

“I take it they're still at it Your Highness?”

“Indeed Doctor...” Celestia said. “How goes the research?”

“Well it does as advertised. But, we don't know how the serum should be implemented. We're thinking about locking it up and returning to the project later.” Nightlight said.

“Good. Be sure to copy down the formula for safekeeping. I have a fear we'll need it in the near future.”
